Malala never got a nobel prize for being hit by a bullet. This is a big misconception and right wing propoganda that has been fed to pakistanis....

When Taliban took over Swat, the first thing they did was ban the education for girls. No govt official bother to challenge that, no one had guts to speak or cover what was happening.

BBC wanted someone to blog all the events and problems that were faced by girls in swat so that this could be broadcasted and reported worldwide.

She was the one who reported the life under taliban regime at the age of 11. What were you doing as a 11 year old? News is very important so that people know what is happeneing

The pakistani govt recognized her immediately and appreciated her efforts that she was given the national youth award in 2011 for the work she had done at such a young age.

Yes I am sure not many read a book. They’re ian older gentleman who is a writer journalist. His name is maqbool something Always dishing out hate and conspiracies. He came on live 3 and just made stuff up about what’s in the book. The other guest pervaiz hoodboy called him out on it saying I have read the book and what you are saying is not in the book. I think he just left the show and since then people believe what me maqbool lied about.

Teenage children of jailed Narges Mohammadi accept her Nobel Peace Prize

The teenage twins of jailed Iranian activist Narges Mohammadi have accepted the Nobel Peace Prize on her behalf.

Ms Mohammadi - who is serving a 10-year jail term in Tehran - won this year's prize for her work fighting against the oppression of women in Iran.

In a speech smuggled from prison and read out by her children, she denounced Iran's "tyrannical" government.

"The Iranian people, with perseverance, will overcome repression and authoritarianism," she said.

"Have no doubt, this is certain."

The prestigious peace prize was handed out in Oslo on Sunday, along with the other Nobel prizes for literature, science and economics.

Ms Mohammadi has for years been a prominent human rights figure in Iran. The 51-year-old has been in jail almost continuously since 2010 - and in total has been arrested 13 times, convicted five times, and sentenced to a total of 31 years in prison.

She is currently in jail for "spreading propaganda".

Her husband, political activist Taghi Rahmani, lives in exile in Paris with their two children and they have not seen one another for years.

According to Nobel's will, the Peace Prize shall be awarded to the person who in the preceding year "shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses".

I dont know if philanthropist can be given this award?

Mother Teresa did get it, even though she used philanthrophy to shield other things. Kailash Satyarthi can be considered a philanthropist as well.

I think Sattar Edhi should have been given it too. He was as deserving of it as Mother Teresa, if not more.
