Formula One driver Sir Lewis Hamilton has bought a stake in an NFL franchise after joining its new ownership group.

The seven-time world champion has teamed up with the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group, which took over the Denver Broncos for a reported $4.65bn (£3.81bn) in June - a record for a US sports franchise.

NFL: Russell Wilson booed as he returns to Seattle Seahawks on Denver Broncos debut

Russell Wilson was booed on his return to the Seattle Seahawks as he made his Denver Broncos debut in a 17-16 defeat.

The 33-year-old quarterback left the Seahawks in March in one of the biggest trades in NFL history.

Wilson led the Seahawks to back-to-back Super Bowls in 2014 and 2015, winning the former over the Broncos.

But his new side could not start the season with a win, as Brandon McManus saw his 64-yard field-goal attempt sail wide with 15 seconds to go.

Geno Smith, Wilson's replacement as Seahawks quarterback, made 23 of 28 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns, as he started the season as a team's first-choice quarterback for the first time since 2014, when he was at the New York Jets.

Wilson finished 29 of 42 passes for 340 yards, and found Jerry Jeudy with a 67-yard touchdown pass, but the Broncos committed 12 penalties and fumbled twice on the goalline.

"I couldn't have been more locked in," said Wilson, despite his hostile welcome. "It just didn't go our way. But guess what? There's 16 more games to go."

Wilson won more games in his first decade in the league than any other quarterback in NFL history while with the Seahawks, which prompted the Broncos to give up five draft picks and three players to get their man.

The new Broncos ownership group, which includes Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, then signed Wilson to a five-year extension on the eve of the new season, which is worth up to $245m (£210m), as they see him as the man to lead them back to the Super Bowl.

Denver have not made the play-offs since winning Super Bowl 50 in 2016, with 11 different players starting at quarterback since Peyton Manning retired.

Tom Brady ended his four-game losing run against the New Orleans Saints as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won an ill-tempered game 20-10.

Brady's Buccaneers are joined on 2-0 by the Miami Dolphins after they came from 21 points down in the fourth quarter to stun the Baltimore Ravens in one of a number of big comebacks on Sunday.

The Arizona Cardinals came from 20-0 down at half-time to beat the Las Vegas Raiders in overtime, and the New York Jets scored 14 late points to beat the Cleveland Browns.

NFL fixtures and results
Defending champions the Los Angeles Rams held off a strong Atlanta Falcons finish and the Dallas Cowboys upset the Cincinnati Bengals with the last kick of the game.

The San Francisco 49ers won their game with the Seattle Seahawks but lost their starting quarterback, while Russell Wilson was booed by his own fans despite leading the Denver Broncos to a scrappy win over the Houston Texans.

Brady ends Saints run as Packers continue Bears streak
Brady's four straight regular season defeats against the Saints was the longest run of the seven-time Super Bowl champion's career, and he again struggled until a late fourth-quarter touchdown throw to Breshad Perriman provided the breakthrough.

A fourth-quarter scuffle that saw both Tampa Bay's Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore of the Saints ejected seemed to spark something in the visitors, with Brady putting them ahead soon after before the Buccaneers defence sealed the game.

It meant Brady became the first player to record a 2-0 start in 10 NFL seasons.

The Green Bay Packers managed to maintain their winning run over oldest rivals Chicago, with Aaron Rodgers engineering a 27-10 victory at Lambeau Field to make it eight in a row against the Bears.

Running back Aaron Jones scored twice as the Packers responded to a bad opening weekend loss by dominating the 205th game of the NFL's oldest and most-played rivalry.

The 2006 season had been the last time a team came from 21 points behind in the fourth quarter to win, but that's exactly what the Miami Dolphins did to beat the Baltimore Ravens 42-38.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw six touchdown passes to outshine a stellar display from opposite number Lamar Jackson, who had put Baltimore into a big lead with three touchdown throws and a rushing touchdown of his own.

The Cleveland Browns looked well on their way to a first 2-0 start since 1993 when they led the New York Jets by 13 points with under 90 seconds left on the clock.

However, Joe Flacco found two touchdown passes, to Corey Davis and Garrett Wilson, as the Jets secured an unlikely 31-30 victory in Cleveland.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray showed why the team handed him a huge new contract in the summer as he inspired a 29-23 win at the Las Vegas Raiders after being 20-0 down at half-time.

Murray scored a touchdown on the last play of the game to force overtime - where Byron Murphy ran in a fumble recovery to win it for Arizona.

Coupled with Miami's victory, it's the first time in NFL history that two teams have overturned 20-point half-time deficits to win on the same day.

The Los Angeles Rams raced into a 28-3 lead in the third quarter but were made to sweat it out by the Atlanta Falcons before holding on to a 31-27 win at SoFi Stadium.

Super Bowl runners-up the Cincinnati Bengals are the first AFC champions to start 0-2 since 1999 after they lost to a last-gasp kick for the second week running.

The Dallas Cowboys were big home underdogs but their defence sacked Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow six times before Brett Maher kicked a 50-yard field goal as time expired to win 20-17.

The 49ers lost their young quarterback Trey Lance for the season as he broke his ankle early in their 27-7 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, but in Jimmy Garoppolo they have someone who has already taken them to the Super Bowl once before.

Russell Wilson was booed by his old fans in Seattle last week, and his new supporters in Denver also voiced their frustration as the Broncos laboured to a 19-6 win over the Houston Texans.

The New England Patriots avoided a first 0-2 start since 2001 as they edged a defensive battle with the Steelers, 17-14 in Pittsburgh.

Things went from bad to worse for the Indianapolis Colts, who followed up a tie with the Houston Texans last week with an embarrassing 24-0 defeat at the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Colts lost out on last season's play-offs because of a humiliating final game defeat in Jacksonville, and their bogey side struck again as the Jaguars made it eight straight home wins against Indianapolis.

The Detroit Lions scored at least 35 points in three straight games for the first time since 1953 as they defeated the Washington Commanders 36-27.

Elsewhere, the New York Giants defeated the Carolina Panthers 19-16.

Another Tom Brady comeback came up just short as his Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers 14-12.

Although two of the NFL's greatest ever quarterbacks were the headline act, the two defences dominated in what could be the last meeting between Brady and Rodgers.

The other big game of the day saw the Miami Dolphins outlast the Buffalo Bills in the heat of Florida to move to 3-0 for the season.

In another exciting Sunday of NFL action, the Philadelphia Eagles also moved to 3-0, the Chicago Bears won with the last kick of the game and the Las Vegas Raiders became the only team to slip to 0-3.

Cooper Rush passed for 215 yards and one touchdown as the Dallas Cowboys earned a 23-16 win over the New York Giants.

Rush, who retained his place in the team for the injured Dak Prescott, completed 21 of 31 passes as the Cowboys made it two wins from three games this season.

He threw the tie-breaking touchdown in the fourth quarter to CeeDee Lamb, who caught eight passes for 87 yards.

Victory for the Cowboys was the 10th in their last 11 meetings with the Giants.

Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown and DeMarcus Lawrence matched his career high of three sacks.

Meanwhile, Daniel Jones made 20 of 37 passes for 196 yards and one interception, and added 79 rushing yards for New York.

Giants' wide receiver Sterling Shepard was stretchered off the field with what looked like a left knee injury, and coach Brian Daboll said he felt "terrible" for the player.

Shepard had five receptions for 49 yards before pulling up with the non-contact injury.

The worst thing about NFL if you are outside the home you just can't escape it lol, irrespective great for Cowboys.

NFL London: Minnesota Vikings beat New Orleans Saints 28-25 in Tottenham thriller

The Minnesota Vikings inflicted an agonising 28-25 defeat on the New Orleans Saints in arguably the most entertaining NFL game played in London to date.

A crowd of 60,639 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium thought they were set for overtime when the Saints, who trailed for most of the game, made it 25-25 with a field goal with one minute 51 seconds remaining.

But the Vikings hit back with Greg Joseph restoring their three-point lead with his fifth field goal of the day with just 24 seconds on the clock.

The Saints were still able to make enough ground for Wil Lutz to attempt a field goal from 61 yards - four yards short of the NFL record.

But his kick struck the left upright and bounced on to the crossbar, known as a 'double doink' in the NFL, before dropping just in front of the posts as the Vikings celebrated after a pulsating finale.

Despite seeing their starting quarterback and two attacking stars ruled out through injury, New Orleans fought back from 16-7 down in the third quarter to lead 22-19 in the fourth.

Justin Jefferson's three-yard touchdown - Minnesota's second of the day after Alexander Mattison's early score - put the Vikings back in front with just over four minutes left, before the late field goal drama.

The 45-year-old NFL legend became the first quarterback to pass for 100,000 yards during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 16-13 comeback victory over the Los Angeles Rams in the clash of the last two Super Bowl champions.

The Buffalo Bills suffered a surprise defeat at the New York Jets, while Aaron Rodgers' nightmare season got even worse as the Green Bay Packers were embarrassed by the Detroit Lions.

At the halfway point in the season, in another week of tight games and dramatic late finishes, the Los Angeles Chargers won with the last kick of the game, and the Minnesota Vikings did something similar to quietly move to 7-1 and the second best record in the league.

Patrick Mahomes produced more primetime magic as he dragged the Kansas City Chiefs to a 20-17 overtime victory over the tough Tennessee Titans, throwing for 446 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 63 yards and a score.

Mahomes is the first player in the modern-day NFL to combine 400 yards passing and a touchdown with 60 yards rushing and a touchdown as he showed why the 6-3 Chiefs continue to be Super Bowl contenders as long as he is at quarterback.

Seven-time Super Bowl champion Brady has had little to smile about this season, and it looked like a similar story when he got the ball with the Bucs trailing by four points with only 44 seconds left.

The Rams had bottled Brady up all night, but he produced a classic drive to throw the winning touchdown pass to Cade Otton with nine seconds remaining.

It was a record 55th game-winning drive for Brady, to go with his incredible passing milestone. Considering they came in his 23rd season and 374th game, both will take some beating.

"That was awesome," Brady said of ending a three-game losing streak that was his worst for 20 years.

NFL week 10: Minnesota Vikings stun Buffalo Bills plus more magic from Mahomes

The Minnesota Vikings came from 17 points down to claim a thrilling 33-30 overtime win over the Buffalo Bills after a wild finish to the best game of the season so far.

The Vikings, who have a habit of comebacks and tight wins this season, did it again as they intercepted a Josh Allen pass in the end zone in overtime to move to 8-1 for the season.

The Green Bay Packers also produced a big comeback to save their season, while the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins kept their winning runs going.

The 10th NFL Sunday of the season started with a slice of history in Germany, but back in the United States even more mayhem ensued with both Aaron Rodgers and the Packers digging deep to erase a 14-point deficit to beat the Dallas Cowboys in overtime.

Elsewhere, the Detroit Lions won their first away game in two years with a late victory in Chicago against the Bears, while commanding wins by the Chiefs and Dolphins put them into the top two spots in the AFC play-off standings.

Comeback Vikings win game of the year contender
The Buffalo Bills went into the game as the Super Bowl favourites, but they ended it down in third place in their AFC East division at 6-3 after Minnesota pulled off the most improbable of comebacks.

Many had questioned if the Vikings were the real deal despite starting 7-1, but after coming back from 17 points down in the third quarter and coming out on top after a breathless finish, these questions look to have been answered.

This instant classic had it all - Dalvin Cook scored an incredible 81-yard rushing touchdown before their quarterback Kirk Cousins led what looked the game-winning drive, thanks to receiver Justin Jefferson producing some incredible catches in a dominant display.

Jefferson was stopped half a yard short of scoring before Cousins was also kept out as Minnesota's hopes looked dashed, only for Buffalo QB Josh Allen to fumble on the very next play on his own goalline, enabling Eric Kendricks to gather and score for the Vikings to put them 30-27 ahead.

With just 41 second left, Allen made amends by driving his team downfield for a field goal that forced overtime. The Vikings kicked a field goal of their own to score first in overtime, and, with the Bills needing a touchdown to win, Allen was picked off by Patrick Petersen to finally end a pulsating contest.

Rodgers rescues Packers season, but struggling Rams look done
The Green Bay Packers were staring a sixth straight defeat in the face, for the first time since 1988 when they trailed the Cowboys 28-14 going into the fourth quarter - especially with Dallas having a 195-0 record with 14-point leads in the final quarter.

That remarkable streak was snapped though with Rodgers completing his second and third TD passes to rookie Christian Watson, before leading a 55-yard drive to set-up Mason Crosby's game-winning kick in overtime.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has a street named after him in Green Bay after leading the Packers to Super Bowl glory, but ultimately he had his homecoming ruined by his former QB Rodgers - who gave everything to improve the Packers to 4-6 and keep their season alive.

But while the MVP saved himself, the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams lost again to slip to 3-6 and bottom of their division as their QB Matthew Stafford missed their 27-17 defeat by Arizona with concussion.

The Cardinals were also without their starting QB Kyler Murray, but their back-up Colt McCoy coped better to hand LA a fifth defeat in six, which got even worse when Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp left the game with what looked a serious ankle injury.

Mahomes and Miami continue hot streaks as AFC top dogs
While Josh Allen and Buffalo's star has dimmed recently, Patrick Mahomes remains the shining light as he threw another four touchdowns to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to a comfortable 27-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jags have not been blown out by anyone this season, but Mahomes excelled as his 16th four-touchdown game - only eight QBs have had more - moved the Chiefs to 7-2 and the best record in the AFC.

The Miami Dolphins sit just behind the Chiefs in the AFC but top of their division above Buffalo at 7-3 after a commanding 39-17 rout of the Cleveland Browns - with their QB Tua Tagovailoa throwing three TDs for the third game running as they won their fourth in a row.

A bumper crowd at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami chanted "MVP" for Tagovailoa, who had 285 passing yards and hit three different receivers in the end zone - but the presence of new running back Jeff Wilson, who had 119 yards and a score, gives this team a new dimension and balance that makes them a huge danger.

Fields proves the future is bright for rebuilding Bears
Justin Fields had another remarkable game but the Chicago Bears QB ended up on the losing side again as the Detroit Lions scored 21 fourth-quarter points to end their 13-game winless run on the road with a 31-30 success in the Windy City.

Chicago are in a rebuild after trading away their two best defenders, but they have a superstar to build around as Fields ran for 147 yards and two TDs, one an electrifying 67-yarder, just a week after a record 178-yard rushing performance.

The Indianapolis Colts won their first game since former player Jeff Saturday was controversially installed as interim head coach, with his inexperience not showing in a 25-20 win against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The New York Giants beat the Houston Texans 24-16 to go to a surprising 7-2 and are right in touch in the NFC, while the Tennessee Titans improved to 6-3 and a solid lead in the AFC South with a 17-10 success over the Denver Broncos.

NFL Thanksgiving: Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys & Minnesota Vikings all win

The Buffalo Bills claimed a last-gasp 28-25 win at the Detroit Lions on a busy night of Thanksgiving NFL action.

Tyler Bass kicked a field goal with two seconds left to ensure the Super Bowl favourites improved to an 8-3 record.

The Dallas Cowboys then came from behind to claim a 28-20 win at home to the New York Giants.

In the late game, Kirk Cousins threw for three touchdowns as the Minnesota Vikings also came from behind to win 33-26 against the New England Patriots.

Dallas began hosting games on Thanksgiving in 1966 and only twice since have 'America's Team' not played on the holiday.

The Detroit Lions have an even longer Thanksgiving tradition, having hosted a game every year since 1934, and they put on a thriller this year against the Bills.

Buffalo returned to Detroit just four days after their home fixture with the Cleveland Browns was moved to Ford Field because of snow in upstate New York.

The Bills led 17-14 at half-time before a DJ Chark touchdown put the Lions 22-19 up early in the third quarter.

A Stefon Diggs touchdown put the Bills back in front with less than three minutes left, although Bass missed the extra point that would have taken them four points clear.

Detroit thought they had salvaged overtime when Michael Badgley kicked a field goal to make it 25-25 with 23 seconds left.

But Josh Allen replied with a 36-yard pass to Diggs to set up Bass' game-winning kick from 45 yards and deny Detroit (4-7) a fourth straight win.

Quarterback Allen passed for 253 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 78 yards and another touchdown.

Josh Jacobs scored a stunning 86-yard game-winning touchdown with four minutes and 20 seconds left in overtime to give the Las Vegas Raiders a 40-34 victory against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Joe Burrow passed for 286 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for a score to lead the Cincinnati Bengals to a 27-24 victory over the visiting Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

Derek Carr and Davante Adams connected on two long scoring passes in the third quarter to help the Las Vegas Raiders rally for a 27-20 win against the visiting Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday afternoon.

Rookie Brock Purdy threw two touchdown passes after replacing an injured Jimmy Garoppolo as the San Francisco 49ers used another dominant defensive performance to beat the Miami Dolphins 33-17 for their fifth-straight win.

DK Metcalf caught an eight-yard touchdown pass from Geno Smith with 36 seconds to play as the Seattle Seahawks overcame an inspired performance by Bobby Wagner for a 27-23 victory over the spiralling Los Angeles Rams.

Giants kicker Graham Gano came up well short on a 58-yard field goal attempt as time expired in overtime, leaving New York and the Washington Commanders tied at 20-20 in a deadlock between teams on the periphery of the NFC playoff picture.

NFL: Minnesota Vikings complete biggest comeback in NFL history to beat Indianapolis Colts

The Minnesota Vikings completed the biggest comeback in NFL history to beat the Indianapolis Colts and secure their place in the play-offs.

After going in 33-0 down at half-time, Kirk Cousins threw for four second-half touchdowns, including a 64-yard catch and run from running back Dalvin Cook to make it 36-34 with 2:28 left.

A successful two-point conversion then took the game to overtime.

Greg Joseph won it with a 40-yard field goal with just seconds left.

The 39-36 victory makes the Vikings NFC North champions and guarantees them a play-off place.

The extraordinary victory, which took the Vikings' record to 11 wins and three defeats for the season, was their first against the Colts in 25 years.

The Buffalo Bills set the previous record for the biggest comeback in the NFL after coming from 32 points down against the now-defunct Houston Oilers in 1993.

With the win, the Vikings clinched the NFC North title for the first time since 2017.

NFL week 16: Cowboys beat the Eagles, Vikings win another close game, Niners go eight in a row

A frigid Christmas Eve in the NFL saw some red-hot performances as the Dallas Cowboys handed the Philadelphia Eagles just their second loss of the season.

The Minnesota Vikings created more NFL history with yet another close victory, while the San Francisco 49ers made it eight in a row in their storming end to the season.

Brady books yet another play-off spot

Tom Brady produced a classic fourth-quarter comeback against the Carolina Panthers to secure back-to-back NFC South titles for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In a must-win situation, Brady came up with a huge game to secure his 14th straight play-off appearance and the 19th divisional title of his career.

Brady has had a tough season by his standards but when the chips were down he responded by rallying the Bucs from 14-0 behind early and then 21-10 down in the fourth quarter to beat the Panthers 30-24.

The 45-year-old scored a touchdown himself but also connected with Mike Evans for three long TDs as the receiver caught 207 of Brady's 432-yard total to help the Bucs claim back-to-back NFC South titles for the first time.

It's a 19th divisional title for seven-time Super Bowl champion Brady, who has incredibly missed the play-offs just once in his 21 full seasons as a starting quarterback.

Brady showed his arm strength is still very much there with scoring throws of 63, 57 and 30 yards to Evans as the Buccaneers booked a home play-off game in a couple of weeks - where they'll play either the Dallas Cowboys or the Philadelphia Eagles.

Damar Hamlin: NFL game suspended after player collapses on field

American football star Damar Hamlin is in a critical condition after collapsing during a primetime US National Football League game.

The Buffalo Bills player, 24, fell to the ground after colliding with an opponent during the first quarter of a match against the Cincinnati Bengals.

He received on-field medical attention for over 30 minutes before being taken to a local hospital.

The NFL suspended the game for the night about an hour after the incident.

The emergency sparked an outpouring of well-wishes for Hamlin, and brought attention back to the dangerous nature of America's most popular sport as the NFL season approaches its climactic play-off stages.

Hamlin was tackling the Bengals' receiver Tee Higgins in the stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, when Higgins' helmet appeared to hit Hamlin in the chest. After initially getting to his feet, he fell on his back.

Players from both teams gathered around Hamlin as emergency medical staff gave CPR and oxygen. Several were seen visibly distressed, with many kneeling to pray and some in tears.

And on the other hand Texas fans love Cowboys more than their family and yet Cowboys wouldn’t make it to the superbowl.

Prayers with D Hamlin and his family. Hopefully he reovers as soon as possible, I have never witness anything like this in decades of watching NFL, scary indeed.

Meanwhile my Eagles need to seal the no.1 seed vs the Giants this week. With Jalen back this week we should close off all lose edges.

Damar Hamlin: American football player 'had to be resuscitated twice' after on-field collapse
The player had been trying to raise money for a children's toy appeal before the incident, and the fund has since been flooded with donations in his honour - surpassing $5m (£4.17m) in 24 hours.

American football star Damar Hamlin had to be resuscitated twice after his heart stopped following a dramatic on-field collapse, his uncle has revealed.

The 24-year-old Buffalo Bills player was given CPR for about 10 minutes after he collided with Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins during their game on Monday night.

An ambulance was called onto the field, and the Bills' coach led the team in prayer as Hamlin left the stadium. Many of his teammates were in tears, as his mother watched on from the crowd.

Hamlin's uncle Dorrian Glenn said on Tuesday night that his nephew was still sedated in a Cincinnati hospital.

"His heart had went out, so they had to resuscitate him twice. They resuscitated him on the field before they brought him to the hospital, and then they resuscitated him a second time when they got him to the hospital," he told CNN outside the hospital.

The NFL game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills will not be resumed having been suspended after Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field.

The Bills safety suffered cardiac arrest during Monday's game in Ohio.

Although the 24-year-old remains in hospital, doctors said on Thursday that he has shown "remarkable improvement".

The outcome of the game would have affected the play-off seedings so the NFL is considering staging the AFC Championship game at a neutral venue.

There is just one round of games left in the regular season, to be played this weekend, with the play-offs set to start on 14 January.

The match between the Bengals and the Bills was suspended after Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field in Ohio.

Hamlin, 24 remains in hospital after he suffered cardiac arrest during Monday's penultimate regular-season game.

Commissioner Roger Goodell said the agreed plan was designed to "mitigate certain competitive effects".

The NFL had been concerned about "potential competitive inequities" in the play-offs as a team's record determines who has home advantage.

Hamlin collapsed during a match at Cincinnati Bengals after making a tackle on wide receiver Tee Higgins, and received more than 30 minutes of medical attention on the field before being moved to an intensive care unit in the city.

He spent two days on a ventilator but doctors said he was up walking the unit by Friday.

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin has been discharged from hospital in Cincinnati a week on from suffering a cardiac arrest on the field against the Bengals.

Brock Purdy continued his remarkable NFL start as the San Francisco 49ers beat the Seattle Seahawks 41-23 on the first night of this season's play-offs.

The rookie was this season's 'Mr Irrelevant', the last man selected in the NFL draft, but has won all six games since injuries caused him to become the 49ers' starting quarterback.

The Jacksonville Jaguars then pulled off the third largest comeback in play-off history to beat the Los Angeles Chargers 31-30 after trailing 27-0 late in the second quarter.

Although Seattle led 17-16 at half-time, Purdy passed for three touchdowns and rushed for another as hosts San Francisco claimed an 11th straight win.

The 23-year-old is just the seventh rookie quarterback to win their first NFL play-off game and hopes to become the first to reach the Super Bowl.

"[I'm] just taking it one day at a time," he said. "We've got a goal, to win the whole thing, but it's tournament play and anything can happen.

"I've got such a great team, it's not a one-man show and I'm very blessed to take them from here."

NFL play-offs: Buffalo Bills hold on to beat Miami Dolphins 34-31 in thriller

The Buffalo Bills held on for a thrilling 34-31 win over the Miami Dolphins to book their spot in week two of the NFL play-offs.

The pre-season Super Bowl favourites and AFC second seeds, Buffalo charged into a 17-0 lead.

Miami lost five of their last six games of the regular season yet managed to snatch a 24-20 lead after half-time.

The Bills hit back with two quickfire touchdowns but another Miami score left the hosts hanging on in a nervy finish.

"We were pretty sloppy, we tried to give it away there," said Bills quarterback Josh Allen. "But it's the play-offs and we found a way. That's all that matters."

NFL player Russell Gage says he is "doing great" after being hospitalised with a neck injury and concussion.

Gage's team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers said on Tuesday he would have further tests after sustaining the injury while playing the Dallas Cowboys.

The wide receiver was taken off on a cart late in Monday's game as his side suffered a 31-14 defeat.

Gage, who was in hospital overnight, thanked people for their concern and said he is "in great spirits".

Buccaneers confirmed Gage "had movement in all extremities".

Two fantastic matchups coming in the divisional round

Bills - Bengals. Will be very emotional for these two teams to play again after the Hamlin incident last time. And now the game has even more meaning in the playoffs

49ers - Cowboys. The 49ers offence is loaded but they still have a rookie QB and that's always risky. Purdy has played well but he started poorly last week against seattle and the cowboys defence is better than Seattle.

NFL divisional round play-offs: Hobbled Mahomes leads Chiefs to win over Jaguars

The Kansas City Chiefs overcame a huge injury scare over quarterback Patrick Mahomes to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-20 and make a fifth straight AFC Championship Game.

Mahomes limped out in the first quarter but returned to battle through the second half despite obvious discomfort as he threw two touchdowns to see off a stubborn Jaguars side.

A late Trevor Lawrence interception ended Jacksonville's chances as the Chiefs set up a game against either the Cincinnati Bengals or Buffalo Bills.

Both top seeds in the NFL play-offs booked their places in the Conference Championships as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Philadelphia Eagles dominated the New York Giants.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes battled through an ankle injury to beat the Jags 27-20 and earn a fifth straight AFC Championship appearance.

The Eagles will host the NFC title game after they dominated divisional rivals New York from start to finish in a 38-7 success.

As the Chiefs continue to establish themselves as the next big winning dynasty in the league, they became just the third team to reach five straight championship games but will be left sweating on Mahomes' ankle in the build-up.

The San Francisco 49ers secured a hard-fought win over the Dallas Cowboys to reach the NFC Championship Game.

The five-time Super Bowl champions held on to beat the Cowboys 19-12 and take their winning streak to 12 games.

Earlier on Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals upset the Buffalo Bills 27-10 at a snowy Highmark Stadium.

Last year's Super Bowl runners-up visit the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday for a place in Super Bowl 57 while the 49ers are at the Philadelphia Eagles.

It is the first time the Bengals, who charged into a 14-0 lead inside the first quarter, have reached the AFC Championship Game in successive years.

It is also the first time in 36 years that there is a repeat of the previous year's match-up.

Let see if the best QB (Mahomes) I have ever seen vs the most composed QB (Purdy) since Joe Montana, get to meet in this year’s SB.
A severely dinged-up Mahomes is still better than Most QBs in the league. KC Vs SF despite against odds will be awesome. I know that odds favor CIN Vs PHI, but I believe the cool headed Purdy vs God Gifted Mahomes will do one better. Go Niners!

It's a high ankle sprain. On that day he was able to play because of the adrenaline and the toradol shot.

But next day the swelling sets in and even walking is hard. That too on his plant leg which is needed for making accurate throws. I believe Mahomes will be good enough for the superbowl because of the bye week but man this week its going to hurt bad. High ankle sprain is a 3-4 week injury

Well. According to the team management, he is good to go. We know that he will not be 100 percent for the remaining 1-2 games. The question is, are Bengals ready for the wounded tiger? They have been successful last 2 or 3 times however, I would go with KC this time despite against odds. Mahomes will be out there to prove his legacy in the making.

I'm expecting a Bengals - Eagles superbowl. Mahomes will not be anywhere near 100%, in fact I think he is risking long term injury - Chiefs should roll with Henne who is competent and experienced along with Andy Reid I think they would still have a fighting chance.

I would love the Niners to win but I don't think they match up well with the Eagles. The Eagles have 70 sacks on the season and will feast on the 49ers O-line which isn't great. Eagles also have a great secondary, not many weaknesses. I also think Kyle Shanahan is somewhat conservative and this might be costly can't settle for field goals against the Eagles.

The margin off error will be very small against the defenses of Phi and SF. The home field advantage will disappear if Phi turned the ball over a few times. Yes, on paper it will be Philadelphia that should win for home Field advantage. Purdy though takes less risk Vs Jalen and moves within the pocket well with a very composed mindset. Jalen can be a running threat and so was Dak. Injuries and turnovers are the bottom line difference. Eagles have not played one strong team as 49ers all this season.

For KC, if Andy decided to go for broke, as he did against Niners in their previous SB encounter, that will make the contest very interesting. On paper, anyone will bite on Bengals. I don't. I believe that KC will be very aggressive against Bengals and sneak through to SB.

Worse case with SF is they can defend like mad and then run the ball if mcaffery kittle and Co are stopped.
I'm still getting to grips with all the tactics but from what i can see purdy is well protected in the pocket and can think well on his feet..Great arm too..

I haven't seen much of the eagles this season so will be a good watch for me..

This is a game slightly in favor of 49ers which many NFL fans don't realize. Yes, PHI is playing at home which is a big advantage in NFL however, 49ers game is built around short passes, run after catch, and complex running schemes. Per NFL.com, the key stat that favors 49ers is that PHI defense has allowed 4.6 yards per carry vs 49ers 3.4. Also, in pass comp percentage (allowed by def), they are neck to neck (PHI 63% Vs 49ers 65.6). As I stated earlier, PHI defense has not even faced a team like 49ers which matches up well to their strengths. It is not going to be easy for either of the teams to play freely. It is going to be a grind. 49ers just grinded out Cowboys and have been accustomed to it. Let see how PHI responds.

49ers offensive line is not the greatest, but does its job in most cases. The schemes are designed for run after catch. The opposing defense will be required to pressure the QB within a few seconds while secondary keeping the tight lid on recievers. This offensive line is capable of protecting Purdy for a few seconds against the pass rush of PHI. It will be entertaining to watch how effectively PHI defense disrupt the timing of this offense while also trying to stop the run.

Yes indeed.. thnks for the analysis. Also limiting 49ers on first downs...I guess the catch run game gives higher chance of first downs and extending the play...I expect a grind and purdy didnshow vulnerability against the cowboys but I'm hoping they get through..

Super Bowl 57: Philadelphia Eagles beat San Francisco 49ers 31-7 to book spot in Arizona

The Philadelphia Eagles denied Brock Purdy a fairytale Super Bowl appearance after beating the San Francisco 49ers 31-7 in the Conference Championships.

This season's 'Mr Irrelevant' hoped to become the first rookie quarterback to reach the NFL's title game after winning his first seven NFL starts.

But the Eagles proved too strong after Purdy was injured in the first quarter.

The 49ers also lost their fourth-string quarterback to injury as the top seeds in the NFC Conference eased home.

That means the Eagles will play in the NFL's showcase event for the fourth time and the first time in five years.

Philly beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52 to claim their first NFL championship at the end of the 2018 season.

Nick Sirianni's team shared the best record in the NFL's regular season of 14-3, along with the Kansas City Chiefs who host the Cincinnati Bengals later on Sunday to decide who will face the Eagles in Arizona on 12 February.

Lane Johnson my main dude, the true MVP for us.

Has not given up a sack or pressure all season, amazing feat and that too playing with a torn abductor muscle.

Lane didnt not give up a sack last time when Eagles won the Superbowl.

The best Right Tackle I have seen since Erik Williams, or should I say he has now surpassed Erik.

If no Lane Eagles don't win our first Superbowl and now would not get to the current Superbowl.

When Eagles won the Superbowl, he faced JJ Watt, Demarcus Ware, Von Miller, Joey Bosa, all the top cats and owned and bricked them all... He owned Joey Bosa's brother Nick Bosa today, Nick is probably the defensive player of the year, what a player Lane is.

Congrats to Philly. Worthy winners. Lane Johnson is great but does bend the rules with those numerous false starts that the refs never call. Who knows had Purdy not gotten hurt the outcome may have been different.

Was gutted...soon as purdy got injured I knew we were in big trouble.. phillies got a good side..

Gutted by the injurry and insult to the injury, the zebras screwing things further. Goodluck to Mahomes. I believe that teams that proceeded to SB got major breaks. Injuries and turnovers are always the key factors among the 2 equal sides. It is just That same old Zebras left a bad taste.

Lane does jump offsides a times, but so does Trent Williams and all other tackles, if the REFS dont call it, cant do much. Lane had an awesome game regardless, held Nick Bosa to zero sacks, zero pressures.

A special shout out to my Aussie boy Jordan Mailata who had a solid game, watch him destroy Nick Bosa here:

Bosa has been dinged up for a month - no sacks last 5 games no suprise he's had no impact.

Legendary quarterback and seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady says he is retiring "for good" after 23 seasons in the NFL.

Brady, 45, first announced his retirement on this day last year but reversed his decision six weeks later, claiming he had "unfinished business".

He won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.

Brady's final season ended in the Bucs' 31-14 play-off defeat last month.

How did Brady become the GOAT?

"I'm retiring - for good," he said in an emotional video posted on social media. "I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning I figured I'd just press record and let you guys know first.

"It won't be long-winded. You only get one super emotional retirement essay and I used mine up last year.

"Thank you so much to every single one of you for supporting me - my family, my friends, my team-mates, my competitors. I could go on forever - there's too many.

"Thank you for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I wouldn't change a thing. Love you all."

Philadelphia Eagles player charged with rape before Super Bowl

A player for the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles has been charged with kidnapping and rape less than two weeks before the team is due to play in the Super Bowl.

Joshua Sills, 25, an offensive guard for the team, was charged on Wednesday by prosecutors in Ohio.

In 2019, he "engaged in sexual activity that was not consensual and held a victim against her will", they say.

The Eagles will play the Kansas City Chiefs for the championship in Arizona on 12 February.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Guernsey County Sheriff Jeffrey Paden said in a statement on Wednesday that the alleged incident was said to have occurred on 5 December 2019.

They added that the "crime was immediately reported" and that the local sheriff's office swiftly began conducting "a detailed investigation".

By reasonable metrics, the Super Bowl that the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will contest on Sunday is one of the best-looking Super Bowls ever. Both teams were the No. 1 seed in their conference playoffs, something that’s happened less than a quarter of the time in the 57-year history of this event (and 13 out of 48 times since the NFL implemented playoff seeding). The Eagles are 1.5-point favorites, a tighter betting spread than all but four Super Bowls to date. As a combination of best-on-best teams that the world thinks are almost exactly even with one another, the only modern peer Super Bowl to this one was the 2014 season’s. In that game, the AFC No. 1 seed New England Patriots beat the NFC No. 1 seed Seattle Seahawks on a goal-line interception in the last minute.

Whatever happens in Super Bowl 57, history will be made in Arizona's state capital of Phoenix on Sunday.

It was thought the Buffalo Bills would be here after the pre-season Super Bowl favourites were carried into the play-offs by an emotional wave of support.

But while their safety Damar Hamlin continued to recover from suffering a cardiac arrest on the field last month, the Bills were stopped by the Cincinnati Bengals.

That got last year's runners-up excited about the prospect of returning to the NFL's championship game. Alas, the Bengals were edged out in a thriller by the Kansas City Chiefs.

That ensured a rarity in that the Super Bowl will feature the season's best two teams and best two players as Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs face Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.

It will be the first Super Bowl to feature two black players as the starting quarterbacks. It will also be the first to feature brothers on opposing teams. But which ones will be lifting the Lombardi Trophy is a tough one to call.

If that's not enough, superstar Rihanna will make her first live performance in five years as she performs this year's half-time show.

Was a good game but Eagles defense sucked and Chiefs took full advantage of it, congratulations to Kansas fans.

Eagles D exposed. Totally ripped apart by a Mahomes masterclass. Just what would he have done if he was 100%. Hurts balled played well and should get paid

Was sure we had the second trophy in the nest going into halftime, but then, our D sucked and Mahomes carved it up like hot turkey.

So gutted..... Eagles aint coming back to Superbowl next year after we pay Hurts and lose some key players.

So Close.......

The Kansas City Chiefs became NFL champions for the second time in four years after fighting back to claim a thrilling 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Chiefs trailed for much of Super Bowl 57 in Phoenix and were 27-21 down heading into the final quarter.

But despite limping after aggravating an ankle injury, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and veteran coach Andy Reid orchestrated a route back in front of 67,827.

Mahomes, who was named the season's Most Valuable Player for a second time last week, made touchdown passes to Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore to put Kansas City in front for the first time.

The Eagles levelled after a third rushing touchdown by Jalen Hurts, followed by a two-point conversion by the third-year quarterback.

But a heroic 26-yard run by Mahomes made the ground for Harrison Butker to kick a game-winning field goal from 27 yards.

Mahomes' performance saw the 27-year-old become the first player since 1999 to win the season MVP, the Super Bowl and the Super Bowl MVP in the same season.

He has led the Chiefs to at least the AFC Championship game in all five seasons as a starter and many argued that, for the Reid-Mahomes era to be considered a dynasty, they had to win another Super Bowl.

"I am not going to say a dynasty yet, we are not done," warned Mahomes.

"I told you nothing was going to keep me off the field. I want to thank my team-mates - we challenged each other and it took everybody."

Reid said of Mahomes: "He wants to be the greatest player ever and that's the way he goes about his business. And he does it humbly, there's no bragging.

"The great quarterbacks make everybody around him better, including the head coach. So he's done a heck of a job."

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce added: "I've got Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes, I have a great team, we had an unbelievable run.

"We were uncharacteristic in the beginning [of the game] but everyone had that look in their eye that they would leave it all out there on the field and that is what we did."
