Hemu was leading the Army of the Suri Dynasty.And please give a source which says Hemu conspired.

I have read a lot of books on this,so know a few things.Go through the sources cited by wikipedia.

It was not a decisive battle, because if it was then Muhammad Ghori would have never attacked again. And for your information Muhammad Ghori was never taken prisoner by Prithvi Raj. Yes he was wounded and down but was saved by intervention of a young Khaliji soldier. Source: Book" The Pathans" written by Sir Olaf Caroe, Chapter Mahmud and the Khalijis.

Judaism is passed mother to child in the true sense (i know you can convert now etc) so they are a race aswell as a religon.

Why else would people say certain features are JEWISH etc.

So taking the above into account is there such a thing as an ethnic pathan (who doesnt speak the language anymore or follow the code)

you will find under race relation law in the uk it is indeed treated as race (this was before any laws for religous hatered were passed)

Gambhir will make as good a captain Dhoni is if not better. The only real advantage with Dhoni is that, Dhoni is a non controversial dude. He knows how to sweep all those controversy creating things under the carpet

Sure its a mistake not to have given Pathan a place in the playing XI. How on earth is Vijay better than him. Sharma is still a decent player

Yusuf pathan is Overrated

This guy gets so much praise from the commentators such as Shastri, Doull and Gavaskar eventhough he hasn't done anything exceptional bar that one innings on a mini ground in Bangalore. Your thoughts?

His ability to play a one off brilliant inning and his brute hitting are rated highly.
He's not rated highly for his batting style or temperament.

If this picture was of an Indian cricketer, he would have been hounded by media and people for atrocity to wild life...and carrying weapons ...Not a very responsible picture of Shahid...He can do better than this..

It's an IPL match going on and Yousuf Pathan is a proven destroyers of bowlers in IPL. So, there is nothing wrong in bigging him up and considering him a top threat in the IPL.

In international games, he's nothing special but has the ability to change the game although he doesn't do it very often. So, he's considered dangerous but never a top batsman.
 
This fake pathan should stick to IPL ...International cricket is not his cup of tea.

I actually like the Pathan brothers quite a bit and enjoy when they come off, BUT this thread is stupid. Afridi is a much much better allround cricketer than Yusuf, brainfarts included. Today's knock was decent though, useful though not rreally convincing cameo. That top-edged six went furlongs high and nearly wiped out the pitch curator's car :))

It was a genuine error from Thomas to bowl Suppiah when he should have bowled Gregory.

Gregory bowled only 2 overs and took two wickets for 9 runs!

It was poor captaincy!

Let him do whatever he is doing a domectic level with the spinners, on international level he is unable to play a complete over of a fast bowler, even he struggles against good spinners on international level. Every country have some batsman who keep doing it on low lever but international they are totally flop.

Pathan snr has turned into one of the biggest hacks around now. He can't even perform in the IPL anymore. Been poor for 2-3 years now. Looks like a pathetic club grade cricketer at the moment.

Wonder if he can turn things around?

Yusuf Pathan loses plot in quest for quick runs

Season after season, it is becoming difficult to recount sensational performances from Yusuf Pathan apart from the 37-ball ton in the first season. Abhijit Banare sheds light on the elder Pathan lost in the quest for quick runs.

It seems Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have finally run out of patience with Yusuf Pathan. Most batsmen would complain that they don’t get enough scope to score coming down the order with enormous pressure in either of the innings. But Yusuf is one player who specialises in batting under such situations. Normal batsmen take a look at the field before getting ready to face the ball, but Yusuf doesn’t necessarily need to trouble his necks much, but focuses on brute strength to clear the fence. However, dramatic you may describe Yusuf’s big-hitting, he has put up below-par performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for last few seasons.

With fresh auctions this season, most of the franchisees focused on buying their key players from previous seasons and Yusuf was one player on whom KKR had invested a long time in the past and had no hesitation in buying him back. And even then they knew the flip-side of having him. Perhaps, it was too much faith in a misfiring player.

He has played almost every match in the last three seasons with KKR. While the numbers aren’t impressive in the first two seasons, the average in the last season can be misleading as well.

For some reason, Yusuf seems to have failed to keep up with the changing dynamics of T20 cricket. Known for big bats and edges flying for sixes, the bowlers over the years have been equally skilful to find their way out. But for Pathan hitting out of the park seems the only intention. Even when the team has been in a comparatively steady position, Pathan has failed to check his aggression and wait for the right time to explode. And undoubtedly, it has been hurting KKR’s chances time and again. In Twenty20 (T20) cricket, the role of a finisher is worth in gold and KKR’s dream batsman for the job has failed to make a mark for the nth time.

Yusuf’s story before the IPL 2014 offers a different picture altogether. He hammered two half-centuries against Saurashtra and Maharashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He played all of the domestic T20 matches on the tricky wickets in Mumbai. After one of the matches, having scored a fluent half-century, Yusuf said that he has had a good season this time around and the injuries have stayed sway unlike the two domestic seasons that preceded this. He had a great outing for West Zone in the Deodhar Trophy. Timing is one aspect that displays your form and Yusuf was having a great one. But the IPL was a different ball-game altogether. On pitches which sometimes are slower than usual, batsmen need to wait for their shots. Even Kieron Pollard has struggled to click. In such conditions, one size fits all style of batting isn’t going to make things easier unless you are in supreme form like Glenn Maxwell!

Another reason for Yusuf’s exclusion could be the rise of Suryakumar Yadav. For the first two matches, he played little cameos by throwing his bat around and ending up in awkward positions after playing them. But in the previous match in a lost cause against Kings XI Punjab, Yadav was single-handedly leading the chase and almost pulled off another solo win against RR. But Yadav’s aggression has given an assurance down the order which allows them to experiment with the playing XI. And their match-winner in the 2012 IPL finals Manvinder Bisla finds his spot. Barring Yadav, there hasn’t been any solidity in the middle order after Jacques Kallis at the top and it’s hurting their chances.

There was a time when Yusuf Pathan used to begin the bowling for teams. But Gambhir hasn’t used him this season at all. The declining pattern started last season where he bowled only nine overs in the tournament. If KKR’s team changes don’t yield results, Yusuf might still get a window of opportunity but even he knows that the toughest part is to impress at No 7. That was precisely his job and he has failed consistently so far

He is a Pathan alright and given chances may be as good a batsman as Afridi,may be better.But he is a poor man's Lance Klusener,even that is stretching it a bit.
 
yousuf pathan is crap... everyone thought he was the next afridi when he was discovered... couple innings against NZ in small grounds, otherwise a flop

His brother is done too -Irfan is treated as a part time bowler by his IPL side. He rarely gets to bowl the full 4 overs.

Shame really however both brothers have made millions of $s out of the game so I don't feel too sorry for them :) Perhaps that is part of the problem - turn them into millionaire 'superstars' after a few good years and it goes to their head.

Nonetheless, good luck to them.

Played a gem of an innings today. Scored 26 off a Steyn over. That said, he was dropped when on 0 and 15. Both simple chances.
