The Walking Dead [Use Spoiler Tags!]

Damn! Great episode. Didn't watch TWD for 3 weeks due to committments. Caught up with three episodes yesterday. Merle :(. Fabulous acting by Michael Rooker and even Norman Reedus (Daryl) was great.

Merle :(

Love him or hate him...he brought so much life into the show !!!!!

Today its gonna be hard to choose for many people who watch shows on TV

Walking dead season finale vs Game of thrones 3rd season premiere

Underwhelming finale. Shocked they killed Andrea. Granted people don't like what the writers did to her character, but she is vital to the future arcs. I can only imagine how bad the
cannibal arc and the negan arc is going to be.

What a downer. After the build up in the last few episodes with some classy writing and acting it was a disappointing finale.

Disappointing finale. For all the hype that a lot of people were gonna die, only a bunch of Red Shirts(read people who nobody cares about) died. Andrea was notable and hers was a poignant scene but again her idiocy finally got the best of her.

BTW, Carl is an idiot but he is right this time IMO. A cynical bent to this show as in if you show humanity to the wrong person, the person will come back and kill you in TWD universe. Carl just couldn't take that chance. Even Shane was right about most of the things atleast until he killed Otis. Even after that, he was right in disposing off the barn zombies. But, he just went full retard.

If you look at the consequences of Shane's choices and, even in the video game, the loot of the car, it's quite clear that the universe is not about what is needed for survival but what is needed for humanity. With Rick too, whatever bold choice he makes either has a bad ending or is prevented. I don't like it TBH.

I hope Carl's personality takes a lord of the flies arc :)

But I must say I didn't enjoy season 3 quite as much as 2. The show is somehow becoming repetitive and uninteresting :/

I fully agree, especially the bit about Shane.

Andrea was a complete idiot throughout the season. Seriously, Carl is a kid but he did make sense. Andrea did not kill the Governor and look what happened.

tbh underwhelming season finale. The face off between the governor and rick and co was disappointing.

The governor went full nuts thou.

Why on earth am I wasting my time on this show? Why did I chose it over Game of Thrones? Why wasn't I aimlessly driving around town instead? Why?

missed the season finale as I was gone out of country for vacation :(
I hope they repeat it next sunday.

Disappointed milton had to die .

Was such an interesting character, plus I reckon Team Grimes could have really done with a nerd

Well at least he went down standing up to the villain

I hope S4 isn't just about this war between Governor and Rick and they do explore how this zombie apocalypse took place.

And how they can find a cure, already getting sick of their boring lives. Loved 1st season because there was some hope left. But 2nd and 3rd seasons all become just about surviving and waking up next day. I want to know what goverments around the world if they exist are doing.

SC will be nightmare with so many people in little area.

Now that the governor threat is kinda eliminated is there any reason they would leave the Prison?

I am happy for Lauren Cohan(Maggie). Poor chick got flamed like hell(some called it a career-ending move!!!) when she was in Supernatural where admittedly she placed an annoying character. It was a weakly written character supposed to be this Irene Adler type but the writers failed.

Now she has got a show where she can be likeable and she is very good here.

Lauren Cohan is steaming!

I certainly didn't expect Governor to flip like that!

I think people expected Governor to die, didn't happen. Would have been better ending of the season, but looks like we have something exciting in store for us next season.

I am seeing Carl to be cold hearted numb character.

Want Michonne to train Carl.

I think Maggie is going to have a baby soon.

I would still like another character coming in to spice things up next season. Or Would like to see these guys to look for new location, unlikely to happen, I think.

(Please don't quote me and tell me what happens in the book.)

I liked the finale......I loved what Carl said to Rick !!

Andrea i guess would have lived if sh was not stupid and hurried faster...but again she is andrea..she is stupid !!!!

Finally the story-line has moved on from the Governer-Rick showdown. Back to the zombie-apocalypse..

Anyone saw the season 4 preview. It is a 4 min trailer. EPIC!!!!

Andrea used to be Rick's love interest in the comics. Unfortunately she is dead now in the series :)
I do believe the walking dead tv series didn't do justice to her role.

Weird that D'angelo Barksdale is now on the walking dead. Cutty is already playing Tyrese.

Expecting omar to show up at some point.

Walking Dead....

I havn't watched Walking Dead yet as I mostly hate zombie - horror genre. I know it's one of the best tv shows and has positive reviews plus my friends always pursuade me to watch it. So, guys just wanted to know will this show appeal to only zombie fans or guys like me who have no interest in this genre find it awesome as well.

already a mega thread on the walking dead here, but its full of spoliers.

Im not a gore fan but i am a fan of anything post apocalyptic. I always like to imagine what will happen to society when everything falls apart. The Walking Dead generally shows this really well. It has gore but thats just one part of it, plenty of emotion and story telling, though some of the characters are annoying.

First Season is brilliant
Second Season is average overall
3rd season was a welcome return to form for the most part

Just amazing.

This and game of thrones =

Not a fan of breaking bad.

After that awful version of the Governor is out of the way, I hope season 4 will be better than 3.

Great season opener...
Loved how comfortable Rick and Michone are now with each other....
Can't wait for the next episode..should be a heck of a season..

Yup, very good second episode. Seems like there is new threat at their door step...lets see how the group tackles it.

Anyone saw the sneak peak of the next episode, where they showed 7500 walkers on their way?

This season has been a touch plodding. Not the fast paced action I want. Too much soap opera crap seeping in sometimes. There has been some good suspense though.

I much prefer it to seasons 2 and 3, which I found dull for the most part.

Now that they are not in mortal terror 24/7, it gives some more opportunity for character development.

One of the best episodes in the comic had no zombies at all, but was a massive row between Rick and Tyreese.

What character development? Giving two minutes of screentime to dispensable woodburry characters before killing them? The soapy Carl maturity line? The false drama with T-Dog 3 who suddenly cares about the death of a character with whom he had no special relation (ie we do not know how it started or developped, the dynamics of the relationship).

Don't get me wrong, I love character development but this is just lazy writing. On top of everything, the plot advances because of stupid decisions from characters like not locking the door, going out alone, burrying the dead in the farmland, splashing pig blood or doctor blood on your face, not clearing the fence hourly, living in a prison rather than in woodburry,... And it gets excessively previsible: the zombie that carl let go will probably kill the old (sick) man, grenn won't die now, carroll didn't kill the people, the little girl did, the little girl isn't sick but faking,...

Walking Dead the game is the only one I'll be anticipating from now on.

It is filled with lazy writing and far to many pointless episodes but i still enjoy watching it. I just switch my brain off beforehand.

It can be excruciating at times. So many silly moments.

However, it is entertaining enough to be a time killer.

The two most stupid parts of the last episode:

Carol going out alone despite planning to go with Rick the next day.
Tyreese just sitting in the overrun car while hundreds of zombies slowly surround it.

Annoys me when the zombies go from being noisy and lumbering to stealth mode like when Buddy Holly died in the showers and ate that guys throat.

Re: The Walking Dead

Dunno why after watching this show, I feel like eating meat. A lot of meat. :|

Just watched Indifference. Like the way its shaping up.

after really enjoying series 1 and sort of liking series 2, i've started watching series 3 but i find it impossible to care about any of the characters anymore. it lacks complexity and is just a bog standard zombie flick, so it's rendered tired and repetitive by its length of narrative.

Just watched Internment.

I really hope Glenn dies. He has been nothing but an annoying waste of space in the prison, lazing around with Maggie all day long as if everything is fine.

Also, Maggie is awful as a romance girl compared to her aggressive side.

The governor is back next week which is great as well.

Daryl isn't gonna be happy about Carol being left out by Rick though.

this season has been refresingly good so far hope it continues

also im prediciting Herschel will die soon, though id rather glenn

Why the Glenn hate? I think he is pretty fantastic. Although I do agree he hasnt got much action this season yet.
Carl was pretty impressive this episode. :D

I'm annoyed how they brought governor back. I completely forgot that he was still alive throughout. I personally really disliked season 3 because of him because his storyline is utterly and dreadfully boring.

Quite surprised that Hershell didn't get killed off. The entire episode was focused on him.

The defining moment was just him sobbing? o.O

Darn.

Not a big fan of Glenn either, though I really like the Maggie character.

If Rick and his son were able to shoot down 50+ zombies in one spot, how incompetent was the damn army.

Too much focus on the governor, but I guess it had to be done to give a background as to how he's still alive and how he has been spending his time.

While I've enjoyed the episodes, it seems like we just wasted half a season and next week's mid-season finale is essentially back to where we were in the previous season's finale.

I really hope either Glenn or Maggie dies in the prison war next week.

For sure, one or two of the major characters are gonna die.

This season is far better than 2 and 3.

Good to see some proper development. Also good to get away from the regular group for a while.

Did anybody else sense a Rick vs Shane theme in Pete vs Mitch?

I thought the new spin-off show might follow Pete and Mitch going forward.

Well, the governor killed that theory pretty quick.
