Unbelievable scenes here. Indian women pull off the greatest upset ever in women's hockey history at the Olympics as they knockout heavy favourites Australia in the quarterfinal to advance to their first ever semifinal at the Olympics. Absolutely nail biting moments in the last two quarters as the Indian goalkeeper had the best game of the team. Chak de scenes on the field today bhaijaan freelance_cricketer![]()
China won 29 gold medals already.
They won the Olympics in Beijing too in 2008.
Looks like China is going from being nr. 2 to now winning the olympics everytime.
Very impressive.
Unlike the Russians I think the Chinese are too proud to do systematic doping. Do you think they dope the athletes or just hard work?
Norway's Karsten Warholm ran a stunning men's 400m hurdles race to obliterate his previous world record and take gold at Tokyo 2020.
Warholm, 25, finished in 45.94 seconds to slash more than seven tenths off his old record, while American Rai Benjamin was hot on his heels to win silver having also beaten the previous record.
Warholm had set the previous world record of 46.70 in Oslo in July.
Brazil's Alison dos Santos took the bronze medal with a time of 46.72.
"You know the cliche that it hasn't sunk in yet? I don't think it has but I feel ecstatic," Warholm, who now holds the European, World and Olympic titles, told BBC Sport.
"I can't believe the time, it's so fast! A lot of the time I am asked about the perfect race... I said it didn't exist, but this is the closest I've ever come.
"I told myself going into the race, remember all the work you have put in. It was the only thing missing from my [medal] collection.
Arshad Nadeem the javelin thrower has qualified for finals with the throw of 85 metres.
He was very impressive.
chopra and nadeem are both the same age lolGuys watch the Javelin throw right now.
The young star kid Neeraj Chopra throws 86.65m in his first throw. He was junior world champion, asian games and commonwealth games gold winner.
Pakistan's highly talented Arshad Nadeem throws 85.16m and is the leader in his group.
Both have qualified for the final. Stop whatever you're doing and tune in to the javelin finals. South asian supremacy ftw!
Wow. Never thought will see this day.
India vs Pakistan in Olympics Athletes Finals. Group A was topped by India's Neeraj Chopra. Group B by Arshad Nadeem.
chopra and nadeem are both the same age lol
Dang.. I've seen Arshad Nadeem before in Asian games and Commonwealth games and he always looked older than Neeraj lol![]()
Arshad Nadeem is Pakistan's first ever athlete who is going to feature in any track or field athletics event at the Olympics. If he finishes on the podium, he will win Pakistan's first medal after the '92 Olympics in Barcelona.
Neeraj Chopra is the first Indian to top the qualifications of any atheltics event at the Olympics. I'm not sure if he's the first Indian to feature in the finals of an athletics event.
In any case, history already being made for both countries today morning.
Commendable but I guess the Germans will throw the longest in finals:

Hoping he gets the gold
