That's a bit excessive, I would respectfully suggest.
If you look back two years, Pakistan did well in England on the dryer, bouncier tracks in London at Lords and The Oval, in the warmer, dryer, second half of summer.
This is a Spring Test series. If they had arrived any earlier it would have been winter, and impossible to play cricket.
Even the English counties have been making low scores on soft, damp wickets so far this season - and their players experience these conditions every year.
If you look back to the 2016 tour of England, this is how many runs each batsman made in the 4 Tests:
Younis Khan 340 runs BUT only 132 runs in his first 3 Tests
Azhar Ali 295 runs BUT only 39 runs in the first 2 Tests.
Misbah-ul-Haq 282 runs BUT only 168 runs in the last 3 Tests
Asad Shafiq 274 runs
Sami Aslam 167 runs in 4 innings - topped the averages even above Younis Khan
They were all horribly inconsistent apart from Sami Aslam.
What Pakistan needs to do now is give their batsmen six innings each before the First Test in England. It's too late for chopping and changing - they need to stick with the batsmen and let them adapt to the conditions.
