Those singles they took meant they knew how important they were as rain was approaching. Well done Hasan.
 
congrats men in green.great effort by Taha.should have been in psl.played some marvellous strokes on the off side.
 
If teams can be compared with superheroes then Pakistan should be called Aqua man or should I say Aquamen!

But I feel Bangladesh have been robbed of victory as set batsman was gone just before Completion of game
Bangladesh would have won that match 9 out of 10 times
Really hoping Afghanis or Nepalis win this years asia cup u19 tournament
that will be better for cricket
 
Could have been really a tight finish as expected 😩

But congrats to PAK team. Taha played exceptionally well under pressure and the kid looks intelligent- kept nose ahead for DWL. I think, deserving team won, because PAK won the match in last 15 overs of bowling.

Good luck for the final.

I think you’re being very generous; Bangladesh should’ve won it easily, our U/19 team lacked the hitters and finishers to finish the game off after Taha had gotten out.

We can only judge on whatever we have seen. Normally teams triple the score from 20 overs and double from 30, if wickets in hand. I think, PAK was 89/3 & 138/4; so fair enough. I don’t know about PAK tail, but we didn’t put enough from 160/1 or so.
 
Pakistan needs to get rid of Mohsin khan who seems to be pretty average. Can't believe we are benching Umair Yousuf and Haider Ali for him.

Pakistan have reached the finals without having played their best XI. Says a lot.

Umair Yousuf is a big performer in finals (check my thread on him)- he has to play.

Also Haider Ali's name isn't even appearing in the squad? Is he injured?

No i don't think haider is injured, because he came on with the drinks few times. Plus we need a right and left combo too, we have so many left hand batsmens and this guy mohsin is very average. I have seen umair bat he is looks million times better then him. Plus very stylish too.

BTW have you seen Abdullah Shafiq bat, according to me he's looks really solid and one for the future too hope he gets few games for multan in PSL.

In that case it is very harsh that Yousuf/Haider aren't being given opportunities.

No I haven't seen him bat but I know of him through the U19 tournaments etc. Has done well in the tournaments so I am interested. Do you have any more info about him?

Good thing for him is he is playing under Malik's captaincy. Malik is very good at giving youngsters a chance, so even though Shafique will be competing with Saif for the EP place I wouldn't be surprised if both played in a few games.

I just don't understand how mohsin is preferred over them specially when he's been a complete failure this asia cup too. I hope umair plays on sunday.

Yeah hopefully they both get games and bat at 3. Yes i saw him bat in petangular u19 recently and looked really solid. I think Talentspotter used to rate him if he is the one. I watched him bat today and was impressed with him. Looks really good when playing thorugh the offside. Unfortunetly, got run out today so couldn't see him bat for long, but was still impressive in his little innings he played. Hopefully you can watch him bat on sunday.
 
watched some balls from shahin shah and he was fantastic i his first overs but bowled on pads as well thats why went for runs.

that's coz India has decided to field new guys,from this year and each and every u 19 will feature the new setup while the other guys will play domestic, so to get experience of next step pretty early, a suggestion made by Dravid.
 
Acc u19 final : Pak v Afg
Afg won by 7 wickets against nepal in 2nd SF
Opener Gulbraz scored a fluent 71 off 65 balls
and I hope that Rasooli will definitely play for National team
 
So Pakistan and Afghanistan meet again. Time for revenge! Afghanistan look too good though.
 
I do not mind if Pak loses the finals and makes some changes...we will be facing Afghanistan again in the WC and that is far more important

Yes he can...provided his age one year before the WC should be under 19.

But I doubt that the PCB will select any FC cricketer

It is trying new blood which is good IMO
 
Mujeeb is the bowler who stands between Pak and winning the tournament, I think he has already taken three 5-fers (including a 6 or 7 wicket performance against us)

You can see his bowling in the video below, he bowls with new ball, quicker off the wicket and spins the ball quite a lot for his age group...our batsmen will have to unsettle him (use of the feet, hit any bad balls for 4, rotate strike every ball etc.) and not allow him to take wickets up front or the match will be quickly lost in the first 10-15 overs of our batting

I would rather say Rasooli is the guy which stands between pakistan and winners trophy
He scored unbeaten 105 off just 38 balls
then today also he came at the end and hit two massive sixes to take Afg u19 over the line

For him to come in to play, we have to put up a score if we end up batting first...plus he could have a bad day as well.

Mujeeb already got 6 very cheap wickets against us which helped bring our team down to 57 all out. Our batters will have to bat really well to not give him easy wickets; he turns big, varies speed as well as flight and goes through his overs at lightning speed. All in all a very good spinner for this level!

Afghanistan lost the only match against Lanka where he did not took too many wickets i.e. 1 wicket in 9 economical overs and Sri Lanka bundled them out for 135 including Rasooli while only chasing 196

You the Pakistanis speak of your high class young talents much more than us.So then you are not supposed to loose against a minnow. Bangladesh won the only ODI series played at home against Afganistan.So the word thrashed seems to be nonsense

Please remember the group stage match against England in 1992 which took you to the final by virtue of a wash out after Pakistanis were all out for 72. So if , when,where is always important.

I think you should also remember how rain helped you guys get to semis in CT 2017 without even doing anything (except a solitary partnership b/w Mahmudullah and shakib).I don't think that I have seen a more undeserving semi-finalist in my life.

This is a Pakistani forum. You will obviously hear more proclamations about Pakistani talent here than Bangladeshi ones. However, even comparatively speaking, Bangladeshi supporters tend to lose their cool when their team wins against a higher ranked team instead of enjoying the win with dignity.
 
Winning and losing u.19 games does not matter that much. Of course it's better to win then lose, but the true success of an under 19 batch is measured a good 5-6 year later when you find out how many of them has gone on to have a successful career for the national team.
 
This is a mickey mouse tournament...wont mind if we lose

Main target should be U19 WC..
I remember us performing v well in 2012 U19 Asia Cup and getting 8th position in U19 WC..:(
