Just before general elections who can gamble like this? This can back fire IMHO

20 sitting MPAs of PTI (most who won on PTI ticket and a few from other parties who joined PTI after elections) will be issued show-cause notices and their names are made public and they are given the chance to prove their innocence otherwise they will be kicked out from party and their names and all the evidence will be sent to NAB for further investigation. Some sold the vote for 4 cores and some sold it for 3 crore. Let's see if other parties follow the trend and come with their MPA names who sold their votes.

Guess what most of these PTI MPAs are the so called nazryati workers not even electables and they won for the first time thanks to party vote bank. Some of of them were young and fresh faces.

Mian sahab yeh vote ki asal izat

There are a total of 60 MPA of PTI in KP and they are kicking out 20? That's 1/3

Great timing!

Just before General elections so it wont make a big difference as elections are around the corner. However, like a poster said above, could back-fire badly.

MPA taking bribes for vote proved?Isnt it illegal?

This happens in Pakistan after every 3 years when 52 old senators retire and new 52 are elected. Buy the votes of MPAs (Members of Provincial Assembly) and become senator. This year the rate was 3-4 crore rupees per MPA vote in KP assembly. For around 30-35 crore rupees you can become senator. Rate depends on province because in some provinces you need only few votes to become senator but in others you need many votes to become senator (depending on number of MPAs in assembly).

Remember intra party election before GE2013? that was a blunder!

This is extremely brave move and sets new precedent. Hats of to Imran Khan!!

PTI has become weaker in at least 6 constituencies due to this but the man doesn't care.

This is how you practically respect the sanctity of vote. "Vote ko izzat dou" kehnay se kuch nahi hota.

Another example for people who question what is the difference between PTI and other parties just because they accepted some old faces.

Also a note, many of the MPAs who sold their votes were first time ideological party workers and belonged to modest backgrounds. Imran Can't ensure accepting angels in the party only but he can ensure those who act against party policy will be kicked out, no tolerance!

!

Yea PTI just lost at least 5-6 seats in South KP and Hazara because of this move.

This is the real "vote ko izzat do" campaign. Slap on the face of Nooras. Inshallah they will be squealing like the pigs they are after the elections.

Also to note IK was the first one to speak against this Senate Election process and demanded it to change because anyone can become Senator in Pakistan if he got enough money.

With one masterstroke Imran completely took the winds out of the "vote ko izzat do" campaign.... then they say "Imran ko siasat nahi ati" :))

It happens in India also and party suspends such people but they were not labelled as bribe takers as this will become legal issue. If PTI can prove they took bribe then this should become legal issue.

Sabko aage lagaya hua he inke narrative aka banyaaniay ke ghubaare main se roz hawa nikaal deta he but usko sayasat nae aati :yk

People of KP started protesting against these corrupt MPAs in front of their houses already :D

I am a Punjabi lived in Punjab all my life but i have to say my Pathans brothers are more political aware than us the Punjabis and Sindhis. There is a reason no party was able to win KP twice in a row in our entire history when PPP and PMLN kept ruling Punjab and Sindh for decades even with no performance.

Has anyone noticed that not a single Noora has come on to this thread. The Kaptaan is a leader( not perfect) but he is showing that not only does he talk the talk, he will walk the walk.

The Nooras have long since deserted these parts.... make a thread about Imran getting married and they will swarm to it like bees to honey and try to drive home the point as to how Immy's marriage has "social implications"

While we are naming and shaming the ones who sold their votes let's take a moment to appreciate MPA Tufail Anjum of Mardan for refusing an offer of 5 crore to sell his vote and he went directly to Bani Gala reported it to IK before the Senate Elections. He is not even a rich person so 5 crore was a massive amount for him. IK was so proud of him he kept mentioning him as an example on different platforms for weeks.

Here is a picture of him with his son.

Just cause somebody's from KP doesn't mean they're pathan lol. Just wanted to put that out there, it's a diverse province named after the dominant group.

I know brother even Peshawar and Kohat used to be Hindko and DI Khan is Seraiki. My point about Pathan was because the Hindko speaking majority part of KP is Hazara and they always voted for PMLN just like Punjabis while Pathan majority always changed the ruling party in next election :P

goose bumps.bravo and commendable.

Bewal Express vote ko ezat do waly log yahe ha.

Totally agree bro, it restores your faith in humanity, when you see good people.
Maybe someone can send this pic to the Duffer, Maulana Diesel and other crooks.

With the general elections around the corner, only a brave leader like Imran Khan can kick out 20 MPAs.Massively impressed.

Meanwhile, PML-N lawmaker who was involved in the Kasur pedophile ring is still an MPA and an MNA from Faisalabad, who along with his sons, raped two women is still sitting in the national assembly.

A clear difference between the PTI and other political parties.

Just a reminder to those who thought PTI was protecting a Councillor involved in Mashal Khan's murder, I kept laughing at such a useless accusation because PTI had previously kicked out a minister for corruption so there was no way on earth they would protect a COUNCILLOR and that too for murder??

When they can kick out 1/3 of their party then no way on earth they would protect a Councillor.

Imran Khan is a outstanding individual, brave and a man of principle. No one else could have done what he has. We as pakistanis are truly blessed to have him !

The 13th player has realised it once He has been used and abused.

Now that He has been thrown away like a tissue paper by " phooloun waalay " and now that they chose 12th player Zardari again , now now He is doing these Dramaz yet again.

A good initiative by Imran Khan.

Though this could backfire in the dirty world that is politics.

Not Imran Khan’s responsibility to discipline MPA’s from other parties.

Other parties need to provide proof that their MPAs sold their votes.

Remember, voting for another person is not a crime, taking money to sell you vote is.

- Imran Khan has said that he has informatit n that these 20 MPAs took money to cast their votes

- Imran Khan has asked these 20 MPAs to come forward and give their side of the story

- If they fail to convince Imran Khan, Imran Khan will notify relevant authorities so that they are investigated and then it will be up to the NAB and other institutions to gather evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt that they took money.

- Imran has full right to suspend them and remove that from the party on the balance of probabilities.

So why dont the Nooras suspend their own MNA/MPA and why Dont Nooras call in NAB to investigate any bribes( from what we know there werent any). Do you want IK to suspend your Reps?

IK's tactics can be questioned but not his honesty. I am hoping that a caretaker government will remain in place for a while before elections.

Although I am not a fan of IK and PTI, but this action is commendable. There is lot to be admire about people like Tufail Anjum...

Many people don't realize, horse trading and black Money in Pakistani politics really took off in 1980s military regime. This lota culture was no where near mainstream in 1970s, its Army who brought all these croaks into the politics, they supported and nurtured them, just to get rid of ideological politicians. Now being electable is more important then ideology, IK is chasing after them once again. Those are all season croaks, most of them are in bed with Army, this is not good for Pakistan, it has never been...

In a very similar way Army nurtured, trained the militant mullas. They have build the religious ECO system where such culture thrive. Extremist mullas were never that well funded and powerful in Pakistan before 1980, this is again one of the major military investment that has back fired big time in last 3/4 decades, Pakistanis are stupid enough to think that these investments are good for their survival...This does not bring prosperity, nor intellect, this is only a recipe for disaster, there is a reason you never want to hand over vision of the country in the hand of military and or dictator(which basically runs on back of Army)

Not confirmed but i think not even a single of them won on any other party ticket or as independent this time. Ziaullah Afridi the biggest mouth ended up with 3800 votes on PPP ticket :)))

PMLN and PPP are saying their senators sold the vote so let's see if they can go one step further to name and shame them and thn kick them out of the party just like IK did a year ago?

This Benazir Shah usually parrots the PPP line on twitter, I wouldn't be surprised if all this is some noora kushti sorted by PPP PR team.

ISLAMABAD: Opposition members in the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting walked out of the committee’s meeting on Tuesday in protest against the attitude of its chairman Senator Faisal Javed and threatened to move a no-confidence motion against him.

The meeting discussed issues related to the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra), with the opposition members accusing the regulator of issuing directives to various TV channels against coverage of leaders of opposition parties.

Heated exchanges of arguments were witnessed between senators Pervaiz Rashid, Moula Bux Chandio, Rubina Khalid and Sabir Shah on the one hand and Pemra chairman Saleem Baig on the other, as the opposition senators criticised censorship of political leaders.

Debating the matter, Senator Rashid said that PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari’s interview and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif’s media talks were suddenly halted. Similarly, he said, news conference of JUI-F leaders was taken off air by TV channels. “Is this media freedom?” he asked.

“I was the minister for information for 126 days when the PTI was staging a sit-in in Islamabad, but I did not stop anybody from covering the PTI leaders and their sit-in,” the PML-N leader said.

Pemra chairman Baig said that the regulator did not call any media house for censoring any news report. He said that from Oct 1 to 16, TV channels gave around 46 per cent of coverage time to Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl leaders.

During the discussion, the situation took an ugly turn when the committee chairman Faisal Javed responded to questions directed at the Pemra chairman.

Moula Bux Chandio said that Prime Minister Imran Khan called Maulana Fazlur Rehman ‘diesel’ in a live speech and asked if Pemra had issued any show-cause notice to the prime minister over it.

Senator Javed responded that the prime minister just said “this is the first assembly which is running without diesel, tell us where did the prime minister call out the name of the Maulana?”

The remarks of Senator Javed annoyed Senator Chandio who said: “Don’t you know who diesel is? Everyone knows who is called diesel.”

The situation became extremely tense when the committee’s chairman said: “It might be his (the Maulana’s) nickname and maybe he likes it.”

Senator Rubina Khalid asked the Pemra chairman if he would issue a show-cause notice if she lodged a complaint over the issue.

The chairman of the committee tried to intervene and divert the discussion to other topic and pacify opposition members, but they did not listen and staged the walkout.
