Bought Ghost of Tsushima just now.

Hoping to start tomorrow in sha Allah.

Hopefully it will not disappoint.

Started to play it.

I am impressed with the graphics, combat quality, and storyline. Best game I have played since RDR2.

I am definitely hooked.

Well, I am done with Ubisoft.

AC Shadows while being a beautiful looking game, it looks like the woke and Rainbow agenda strike again!

Sick and tired of this LGBTQ/Rainbow propaganda.

Insta delete.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I will not be buying AC Shadows. Can't stand woke nonsense.

In my opinion, AC died with AC Syndicate. That was the last proper AC game. After that, it became something else.

AC died with Ezio IMO.

After that AC became a ship/walking simulator.

Ghost of Tsushima Sequel, Ghost of Yotei, Announced With New Protagonist and Story Set 300 Years After Original - State of Play

Ghost of Tsushima is officially getting a sequel titled Ghost of Yotei, it was confirmed during today's Sony State of Play presentation. It'll arrive sometime in 2025.

It was the big announcement to close out the State of Play, and one of the biggest surprises. Developer Sucker Punch showed off a significant look at footage too, including some gorgeous cinematics. And if you couldn't glean from the title, it'll focus on a different setting and a brand-new protagonist, Atsu, moving away from Ghost of Tsushima's Jin Sakai.

Sucker Puncher didn't reveal too much during the presentation, but we got a little more insight thanks to a PlayStation blog post shortly after. It'll take place in 1603, 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei, known as Hokkaido today. Sucker Punch calls it "a far cry from the organized samurai clans who lived in Tsushima, and it’s the setting for an original story we can’t wait to tell."

According to the post, the developer "wanted to maintain the core pillars established in Ghost of Tsushima: playing as a wandering warrior in Feudal Japan, offering freedom to explore at your own pace, and highlighting the beauty of the world."

"We also wanted to continue to innovate. To create something fresh but familiar, we looked beyond Jin Sakai’s story and the island of Tsushima, and shifted our focus to the idea of the Ghost instead," the post continues. "At Sucker Punch we love origin stories, and we wanted to explore what it could mean to have a new hero wearing a Ghost mask, and uncovering a new legend. This led us to Ghost of Yōtei: a new protagonist, a new story to unfold, and a new region of Japan to explore."

As "Sucker Punch’s first game built from the ground up for PlayStation 5," it'll also include new mechanics, gameplay improvements, and new weapons.

Unabashedly inspired by the works of Akira Kurosawa (to the point where the game even included a "Kurosawa Mode") and other samurai films, Ghost of Tsushima followed a samurai on a quest to protect Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. It released for the PlayStation 4 in July 2020 followed by a multiplayer mode, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, that October. A Director's Cut was released for PS4 and PS5 in 2021, and a PC port finally arrived last year.

A Ghost of Tsushima movie is also in the works with Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions, with John Wick director Chad Stahelski set to direct.

IGN gave Ghost of Tsushima a 9/10 back in 2020, calling it "an absolutely gorgeous adventure through one of history’s most strikingly beautiful landscapes, and that beauty is compounded by one of the best blade-to-blade combat systems the open-world action genre has seen."

The thing i absolutely hate about most video games now is that developers have become Lazy.

Now adays you have to wait months to actually play a completed product since the game usually realeses with glitches, unfinished content etc etc.

For example Dragon Ball sparking Zero realesed with only one map for multiplayer at launch, an extremely unbalanced gameplay.

Ik dragon budokai tenckahi was always unbalanced, but in the past it made sense. Logically a player who picks Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta should have an advantage over someone who picks Android 18.

But sparking zero on day 1 launch made characters like videl, Yajirobe, Android 19 and 20 so unbelievable broken. Its like the dev's just randomised everything 🤣🤣🤣.

Patches should be for upcoming dlc optimisation and fixing very few bugs that don't inconvenience the player.

Not adding in entire content that should have been added on day 1.

haven't played any video game since playing Assassin's Creed like years ago...

Into Mobile games more. PUBG etc

When I was a kid in the late-90's, I had a SEGA console. I used to play in SEGA a lot.

After that, I was into PC games. I had around 50 games in my computer. I used to play Road Rash, Need For Speed, Tarzan, Doom, Raptor, DX Ball etc.

After that, I switched to Xbox 360. I used to play FIFA, GTA 4, GTA 5, and Batman there.

I tried a bit of Nintendo Wii in 2012-2013. It was okay. I mostly used to play golf, tennis, and bowling there. Golf was my favorite.

I eventually switched to PlayStation. I am still with PS. Finished Red Dead Redemption 2, FIFA 24, and various Assassin's Creed games there.

The guys are so expensive these days. Most big open-world games are like £70. How is a common man like me supposed to afford that?

Switch to arcade gaming! ;)

I'm currently playing KONAMI Gradius Origins.

Every version of Gradius release from KONAMI, all in one package!

AAA wise there sweet FA I'm looking forward to. GTA6 doesn't interest me, and the latest AC Shadow was just rainbow BS. Did play the new Indiana Jones game on PS5 Pro - entertaining game, but no replay value.

I have a lot of games in my psn library, but I have put myself at a disadvantage by buying a digital-only ps5. I can only buy games from the psn store.
I also only have a digital ps5 fam.

I always purchase digital. Whats the point of physical in this era?

I haven't played arcade gaming in over 20 years.

I am also not excited about GTA 6. The long wait between GTA 5 and 6 has killed my excitement for the game.

AC games are trash now. I used to love that series, but I haven't played an AC game in nearly 10 years. The new style of AC games doesn't appeal to me.

I haven't yet played the new Indiana Jones game, but that is on my wishlist.

Same. I haven't played arcade in over 20 years.

Agree that they took too long for GTA 6. Need to release one every 5 years.

You boyz need to get back into arcade game! You may have forgotten how much fun pick up and play arcaders were!

My favourite arcade game is Resogun. Probably will die playing the game. Play it every day trying to beat my personal beat score!

This is a great video on the mechanics.

This is proper technical showcase material running at 60/4K

My personal beat 650,000,000

Yeah. Arcade games were fun.

I used to go to my local amusement park and play these. Good times.

Yes. Assassin's Creed feels like another game now. I miss old school AC games.

I think AC Syndicate was the last proper AC game. After that, it turned into something else.

Assassin creed has been a crap franchise since blag flag.

Black flag is the best ac game and its downhill from their.

Unity had good parkour but a crap story and content. Syndicate was terrible and every game beyond it

Yes.

I think Origins was a great game but it was simply not AC. LOL. They completely changed everything.

My favorite AC games:

Ezio trilogy
Syndicate
Unity
Black Flag
Rogue

I think they need to go back to original AC.

Rumour is Ubisoft are going bust.

Doesn't surprise me.

Go woke go broke.

The rainbow agenda is history.

My fav AC game will always be black flag. I love the setting and the ship combat.

I actually enjoyed all AC games up to Sydicate, even the much hated AC 3.

Yeah. It was a box office game.

I finished Black Flag 4-5 times. I even finished most of the side missions.

I heard that AC Shadows have sold well. As long as the AC franchise exists, I think Ubisoft will survive.

I bought AC Shadows. Started it but didn't finish. It just didn't have what I was looking for.

It is not a bad game but just doesn't have that old AC feeling.

The modern AC games are too long. I don't have the time nor the desire to dedicate 100+ hours to a game.

Older AC games were short and could be completed within 20-30 hours.

Long game is not a problem. For example, Red Dead Redemption 2 has over 100 missions (very long game). However, I enjoyed it and I finished the game at least 4 times. I am planning to keep on playing it as RDR2 is my favorite game of all time.

Modern day AC simply does not have interesting storylines like we saw with Ezio trilogy, AC III, Rogue, Unity etc.

They need to ditch the MMORPG mode and go back to the original.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the greatest video game of all time. Despite its length, it never feels boring, and you become emotionally invested in the game and its world. That is not the case with modern AC games and most long games in general.

For those into shooters, I highly recommend playing the Battlefield 6 beta which is free for all until the 18th August.

When I get time, I enjoy playing online FPS games. BF6 has been highly enjoyable so far.

Did you play AC Mirage?

Of the recent AC games, that is the only AC game that I am somewhat interested in playing, as it is more in line with the older AC games.

Yes played it and loved it, with the Islamic under and overtones, and a relatively small map, and linear story. A total break from the abominations that were Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.

Ubisoft cannot do open worlds, like Rockstar. Which is why the best AC games are the linear storylines. Ezio Trilogy, AC3, Rogue, Unity, and Mirage.

Thanks. I will buy Mirage soon.

Ubisoft makes visually stunning open worlds, which is the only thing that they are good at in recent years. But their open worlds are usually too big for the sake of it. Rockstar's open worlds are full of detail and life, unlike Ubisoft's.

The size of the world isn't the issue.

In AC Odyssey, the world was cut and paste. You saw the same houses, NPCs, architecture, just copied and pasted across the islands. The problem with this is that when you traverse from end to end, it all looks the same, therefore the sense of progression and perception of travel is in a state of limbo - it feels like a chore.

In RDR2, there is not a single duplicates NPC, surrounding, object, landscape, environment etc. The 5 regions have their own eco system, NPCs, cultures, architecture etc. Meaning when you traverse end to end, there is a sense of progression and perception of travel because your surroundings change.

It's all about the environment in large maps.

If there is one game that I wish I could experience again for the first time, that would be Red Dead Redemption 2. I don't ever remember a video game impacting me as much as that game did.

I hope that someday there will be a RDR 3.

I hope so too. Shame R* prioritised GTA6 over RDR2 online content, but here's hoping for RDR3!

I put in over 5000 hours into RDR2. The only AAA game I've invested over 100 hours, I still play, even if it's just to wander round and clear my mind.

Can't believe RDR2 lost out to God of War for Game of the year award.

Knowing how long Rockstar takes to make games these days, it won't be until 2035 before we get RDR3.

I like God of War too, but RDR 2 is way better.

Correction: I bought AC Mirage (not Shadows).

I may give Shadows a try.

Yes.

Even though it is a long game (close to 110 missions along with many side missions), I do not get tired of it. I wish it had 500+ missions. I absolutely loved that game.

I hope they will release RDR3 soon and keep the quality similar.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is more than just a video game. It is more entertaining than many movies. The storyline is simply high quality. Arthur's dead in the end was very emotional. Best video game I have ever played; only GTA 5 comes close probably.

Even RDR1 had a good storyline but the graphics was terrible. They should remake it and make it like RDR2. Also, I wish they would've kept John Marston alive in RDR1. :inti

Looking forward to GTA 6. Scheduled release date is May 26, 2026.

I don't know why there is such a long gap between GTA 5 and GTA 6. 13 years gap. They should release quicker so that people don't lose interest in the franchise.

RDR1 was my favourite game until RDR2 came out. Both fantastic games with incredible setting and story.

I am not the sort of person to cry after watching movies or playing games, but I am not ashamed to admit that Arthur's death in RDR2 made me cry.

I also became quite emotional while playing RDR2. The way Arthur sacrificed his life to allow John to escape and John eventually avenging Arthur by killing Micah. Also, great to see John being a successful rancher (however, he dies in RDR1 tragically).

RDR2 has a better storyline than most movies. It is a video game, historic documentary, and a movie combined in one.

RDR1 wasn't as good as RDR2 but was still pretty good. I think they should remake it with more missions.

Anyway, I am looking forward to RDR3. I hope they will release it within the next 5 years.

Has anyone played the new Mafia game? Is it any good?

Mafia games normally tend to have good stories but average gameplay. Is that the case with this new Mafia game?

Sadly, that won't happen.

Next year, GTA 6 will come out, and Rockstar Games will milk it for the next decade, like they did with GTA 5.

If there is a RDR3, it probably doesn't come out until 2035.

Bruv - let me tell you my experience.

I bought RDR2 day 1 release in Oct 2018.

I played the story mode for about 2 months.

My dad is then diagnosed with terminal cancer.

3 months in and out of hospital, I spend all day with my dad, then all night on RDR2.

RDR2 was my way of dealing with the situation, it was my outlet.

My dad goes into palliative care.

Just as I finish the story with Arthur dying, my father passes away too.

You can guess the rest and understand why I have spent over 5000 hours on RDR2 and still counting.

Sometimes I just load up and head over to Arthur’s grave just to remind me of the great times I experienced with my father.

RDR2 is the only AAA inwill be playing till the day i die.

Until then its arcaders or RDR3!

I see. May Allah (SWT) grant your father Jannah.

I have also spent the most amount of time with RDR2. I am yet to explore many areas. It is such a huge game.

I finished RDR2 4-5 times. I am playing it again currently. I am looking to take my time this time and explore more.

Who should be the main character of RDR3? I think John Marston's son (Jack Marston) should be the main character.

Maybe they can do a prequel instead of a sequel.

For example, RDR3 can include how Dutch met Arther, Jose, John etc.

In other words, it can be about the origin of the Dutch van der Linde gang.

Jack Marston should absolutely not be the main character of RDR3. I hated him in RDR1, and I made sure that I finished all the side missions and collectables with John (Amazing Character), so I only have to play that one revenge mission with Jack.

I personally would like Young Dutch to be the main character of RDR3. How he met John, Arthur, etc and how he formed his gang.

If not Dutch, then I don't mind following the story of Sadie Adler or Charles after the events of RDR2.

If they want to go away with the Van Der Linde gang, and go in a different direction, then how about playing as Landon Rickets?

Landon Rickets was an old man whom John met in Mexico during RDR1. Playing as the young version of him could make for a very interesting story.

Yes. That would be great if they show the origin story of the gang. I think it can be a great story actually.

They can show from the origin all the way to the Blackwater robbery. It can be another massive and entertaining game.

I don't think a sequel would be that great since all the interesting characters died in RDR2 and RDR1.

You are right that a sequel won't be great, because all the interesting characters have already died. Also, RDR1, which is set in 1911, is towards the end of the Wild West era and the beginning of civilisation. RDR is about the wild west, so they need to explore a time period which was the golden age of wild west.

The challenge with RDR3 is the time line. After RDR2, you’re in WW1 territory.

Yes. Prequel would be better than sequel. Maybe they can have multiple prequels (origin stories of all main characters).

They can make 5-10 games like that.

Origin stories of:

  1. Arthur Morgan
  2. John Marston
  3. Dutch (they can maybe make 2 games with Dutch alone --> one for the rivalry with the O'Driscols and one for origin of Dutch van der Linde gang)
  4. Jose
  5. Charles Smith (he is of black and aboriginal American origin; interesting character)
  6. Lenny
They can make 6-9 games right there.

I am thinking of buying a golf game. LOL.

I used to play golf on Nintendo Wii. I really liked that game. Would love to play it on PlayStation. :inti
