@Technics 1210

Check this, second time this has been rumoured now, and it would appear two versions could be in development:

I hope this is true. I love my VITA!

Saying this have you heard about the latest update for PS Portal? You can now stream game direct from cloud! (With PS Prem subscription)!

I am yet to hack the Vita I got recently, I bought some physical media COD & Rayman Origins; the latter is very confusing to play lol but I’ve used it a fair amount to remote play some PS4 games, it was so ahead of its time! And man I will be the first in the stores to get it! they would be competing with not just the Switch 2 but also the Steam Deck 2. We’re too far away from a pure dedicated handheld but they’re better positioned now to exploit the digital games libraries people have on the PS Store, though I still buy games from CEX from time to time, especially when I can’t find my older games.

I heard about that! will be interesting to see how you find it, dramatic improvement in the performance?

Raymans Origins! A tear down my eyes! What memories. I played the PS4 version too, but somehow, ironically, was not as sweet as the VITA version (which I still play).

The PS Portal was marketed as a remote-play device. The usual, family on TV, you can still play the PS. It's biggest criticism was that there was no way to play off-line games (like VITA). So Sony enabled cloud streaming, while not the same as VITA, it still means the PlayStation is not needed to play games on the Portal. Have not tested this yet, but the main problem still exists, the quality of experience depends on the network connection!

I am tempted for Switch 2, only because of the Shmups catalogue and Mario!

What did you make off the Switch 2 reveal ?

I never experienced the OG console and am not as critical that they did not reinvent the wheel again, so am glad the sequel is an evolution of the original. Once I’ve clocked all the nintendo inspired titles on the deck I plan to get it, would be my first nintendo console since what I consider the best console ever the N64!

Mario Kart 8 was insane, still play it to this day, there was some gameplay footage for the new title (Rumours of 24 player multi-player!). I imagine a new Zelda game will be great to and with backward compatibility, the Switch 1 games should run above 30 FPS as well.

Reminds me of Crcket 07 where you had all the players with the wrong names because of licensing issues. But the gameplay looks fun

What a game Cricket 07 was, that was peak gaming from the EA sports era, and no one has nailed Akhtar’s action better than in that game lol I emulate it from time to time.

I have slightly higher expectations from UPW compared to AEW FF because they have worked on it longer and can’t complain about aggressive studio’s interfering etc And if the CAW mode is epic with a download option, that should resolve the IP issues.

My only issue with the Switch 2 is the lack of OLED screen, but it will be out by the time I look to get one. These days it’s rare to release the initial model with high spec, the Switch 2 OLED model will probably compete with the Steam Deck 2 and maybe the PSP 3 down the line so I understand their decision at this point.

I have finished Red Dead Redemption 2 at least 4 times I believe. Playing it again. I want to take my time this time and explore the game more.

I also want to play Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed Syndicate this year (played in the past but want to play again).

I am disappointed with the specs. So ok the S2 is bigger, bolder, got magnetic connectors, and a wider stand - where's the 4K OLED screen? A screen that size deserves much better than LCD. Nintendo do this to increase battery performance (Nintendo delayed the release of the Gameboy Colour due to power consumption and opted for monochrome LCD 1st release instead. Those batteries lasted days!). Different world now, you can find a charger everywhere!

PLUS there is no 100% backward compatibility. Not all S1 games will work on the S2.

If S2 had the OLED screen, this was a day one purchase for me. Now I am just going to wait for the dust to settle after the release and see if its really worth upgrading to S2.

@Technics 1210

Could you please recommend me some games similar to Red Dead Redemption 2?

I know GTA 6 is expected to be released soon. Any other similar game?

With facepacks and rosterpacks, it became the perfect cricket game.

Can you recommend a good cricket game for PS5?

I last played a cricket game back in early-2000's. It was EA Cricket 99 or something.

Since then, I have mostly played FIFA, Assassin's Creed, GTA, RDR, Batman etc.

There isn't a good cricket game I guess. Cricket 07 probably stands as the best cricket game.
There's cricket 24 which is fine-ish. I played it on ps4 found it to be okay.

Thanks.

I saw trailer of Cricket 24 but didn't like the vibe. It felt too IPL-ish for my liking.

Anyway, I used to play EA Cricket World Cup 99 when I was a kid. It was a classic one.

You are right, as a day one purchase it’s debatable, and that too when the updated version could be released just months later. With battery life it comes down to personal use, a lot of folk complained about it with the deck but I always have a socket nearby and rarely play for hours & hours.

I would say to you look into the SD OLED model with 4k output but I reckon the SD 2 is not too far away now. For me the deck is the best technological gaming piece of hardware which has wowed me in many years and got me out of my gaming slump, different audience though.

Ah yes mate! I got a modded GBC ! and rechargeable batteries which take it to another level 🤣 the platform games never get old and there is still so much indie support and new releases, I took it to Turkey once and was a lovely experience.

Which games miss out on S2 backward compatibility, anything major out of interest ?

Breath Of The Wild remaster is rumoured for the SD 2, but I’d say it already runs better on the deck then the OG switch!

Unfortunately it’s just the Don Bradman / Big Ant Cricket series available.

If you have a PS3 or Xbox 360, the last great console cricket game was International Cricket 2010 by Codemasters (The guys responsible for the Brian Lara series).

I am thinking of buying a golf game for my PS5 console.

I used to play golf in Nintendo Wii back in 2012.

Same, the Nintendo Wii was epic, like literally people who would never play any kinda game would play that.

Wii Sports is one of the greatest games of all time imo

Did you play the Boxing lol that one was my favourite and then the mini golf after that aha

Eagerly waiting for GTA 6. Scheduled to be released later on this year.

Hopefully it will be a good one like RDR2.

Good one? If they don't nail this as the greatest game of all time they should be ashamed of themselves.

2B dollars coat for making one video game? That's more then any video game in history .

If I had told you 10 years ago that a video game would cost 2B dollars to make for a company, you'd have called me insane.

Just to put it into perspective the 2 most expensive video games that have been made are cyberpunk 2077 which cost 440M usd and marvel spiderman 2 which cost 315M usd.

The most developed game which hasn't been realesed however is star citizen which once realesed on play station will have costs 630M usd to make.

Gta 6 costing 2B to make pretty much makes it nearly 6X more expensive then the 2nd most expensive developed video game of all time.

Ik cost isn't the only factor as Marvel spiderman 2 and cyberpunk 2077 are no where close to the greatest games of all time but still 2 Bloody billion dollars?

How on earth can you not be no 1 with that budget?

Theirs absolutely no excuse to not make every feature from story mode, to online, to gameplay, to map + activities, to side missions and main missions, absolutely pitch perfect.

Here are the costs of most expensive video games in terms of development budget of all time.

1) Gta 6 = 2B usd
2) Start citizen = 630M USD
3) Cyberpunk 2077 = 440M USD
4) Marvel Spiderman 2= 330M USD
5) Last of Us part 2= 220M usd
6) Horizon Forbidden West= 212M Usd
7) Call of Duty Modern warfare 2= 200M Usd
8) Calisto Protocol= 162M USD
9) Tied Destiny + Undawn = 140M USD
10) Immortals of Aveum = 125M USD

^^ GTA 6 is leading the charts.

Even if you count ongoing costs, no game comes close

Genshin impact ongoing updates and development costs has reached 900M usd, the coat of development on launch was 100M which is still way way way behind Gta 6 Costs.

Gta 5 total cost has reached 265M usd since launch while development was 90M usd.

Gta 6 hasn't even launched and it's already at 2B, imagine how much more costs will be incurred once patches, Online support etc etc are implemented.

Plus they'll probs have to remake the game for PlayStation 6 and the new xbox because no way a game like Gta 6 is not getting next Gen support. Inpredict PlayStation 6 to launch in 2028.

This is crazy, I didn’t know it was so expensive, I get it now why they will be charging everyone up to $100 and I can’t even begin to fathom what the micro-transactions will look like in-game!

$2 Billion is mad (and the costs wont end there like you said due to the aftermarket support), adjusted for inflation, the biggest movie budget of all time is not anywhere near that; $600 million for The Force Awakens.

No doubt there should not be any room for error at all really, but from what we’ve seen from Rockstar, they should deliver and help boost PS5 sales massively because I think this will be the point when a sizeable chunk of the PS4 users migrate to PS5.

Overall you're looking at a 4-5B dollar budget.

2B more will be spent remaking the game from ground up for ps6 around 2028 since Rocester isn't going to do any more ports after the disaster of definitve edition.

They'll remake the game like they did for ps4 and ps5.

Then theirs the support for gta online × post marketing and sales.

This might be the first GTA game that might not even break even. The previous gta games incurred a stupidly high profit but even Rocester isn't sure they'll be able to break even this time around.

They'll need around 66M customers to either buy the game to break even, or around 20-30M customers who will purchase the game and are willing to buck loads of microtransactions for GTA online to break even.

Next game I may buy is Ghost of Tsushima.

As a fan of old school Assassin's Creed, this seems like my type of game. It got good ratings too.

This is on my next to play list.

If you need to find games to play, I always recommend checking out Metacritic.

https://www.metacritic.com/browse/game/ps5/all/current-year/metascore/?platform=ps5&page=1

Split Fiction rated the best game so far this year.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Last 10-15 years, I mostly played Assassin's Creed, Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto, FIFA, and Batman. I recently bought Spider-Man 2; haven't started it yet.

I tried a bit of Far Cry but didn't quite like it.

Anyway, looking to give Ghost of Tsushima a try. I saw some clips on YouTube and I liked the overall vibe. Storyline seems great.

any good multiplayer fps out there.

Now adays i play valorant

AC Shadows on 20th March.

Thanks.

Last few AC games didn't quite excite me. It felt like a completely different franchise. They changed around a lot of things. I enjoyed AC till AC Syndicate.

Hopefully AC Shadows will be like old school AC.

Don't get much time so I am still stuck with playing sonic the hedgehog.
Tried playing wwe 2k24 again but got bored after 1 match.
tekken 7 was the last game that got me hooked.
street fighter doesn't have as good of a gameplay as tekken.
started injustice 2, but don't know any combos.

Recently upgraded my rig

Would be nice to see some setups here.

Amazing set-up bro, looks epic to play something like flight simulator, F1, Rally & Gran Turismo, you should create a simulator! My PC gaming days ended around 2010ish, but I use the Steam Deck now which technically is a mini PC lol mainly for emulation.

I still haven’t completed AC 2 🤣

You reckon? What are the current forecasts on whether they will make any money; certainly, it wont be anytime soon after release though and it will be many years before they do.

That’s a good point, if we look at GTA V, going from the PS3 to the PS4, it was a massive leap. However, am hearing PS6 is not expected to be as big a jump compared to previous generations; if that’s the case then maybe they wont need to fork out a lot of dollar to remaster it as they would have in the past (adjusted for inflation).

Did you get back into your PSP gaming, think you were looking for a battery. I am on the SD season mode of 06 SvR, I forgot they had an ECW invasion storyline which includes a heel Rey Mysterio Jnr 🤣 @RedwoodOriginal

Yes I did got it repaired. Turns out it was just loose nothing else. Put a folded paper near the battery port and it stopped turning off. I only religiously played WWE SvR 2011. 2006 and 2008 have good gameplays (much faster than 2011 or 2010) but I haven't completed the universe/season modes yet. I moved to US a few months back but made sure to bring my sweet old PSP along (and PS4 too).

Man I need to get back to it but struggle to find the time to do so. I got the battery changed and it was working fine. But then I didn't get down to homebrewing it.

Lmao I had no idea. That sounds like such an entertaining storyline.

PSP imo is the best console to hack all the variants serve a purpose, and the GO. You can even play Brian Lara cricket the OG version with pops loader.

I was shocked mate, Rey Mysterio running in to beat the hell out of me with Tajiri 🤣

The season modes were so good back then and even more surreal with the voices being incorporated when we didn’t get that during the N64 / PS1 & early PS2 era so that’s mighty impressive, I tried to play HCTP season mode but it’s difficult without the voices

I never really played any of them beyond 07 so will check those out, I played a bit of all stars on the GO which was surprisingly fun. PSP is a unique beast because it’s among a few gaming machines which is not easy to emulate, you really need the hardware.

Makes you appreciate these games even more when you see the sorry state of wrestling games today. WWE just phones it in every year with the 2K games. And enough negative reviews turned me off AEW Fight Forever, which I might actually get one of these days now because I heard its super cheap.

Yoooooooo 90% off AEW FF on steam 🤣🤣🤣 It’s £3.29, that’s mad, it would be rude not to, am going to get it and play after this month. The ultimate edition is about £10 more not sure if that’s worth it though but you get everything including Samoa Joe, Revival and Cope; it’s insane that CM Punk & Cody? are both in the game 🤣 Screw the reviews bro we need to get this lmao

And yes the current state is horrid to say the least, new coat of pain every year, I still go back to all the classics because they are so repeatable and even the single player on legend mode is fun; I fought Orton as Benoit for the WHC at SS in a steel cage match, I tried to rewrite history but still got beat with a jumping RKO type neck breaker.

There is hope though, UPW should come out this year, hope its good.

Tried to buy Ghost of Tshushima today. Price is almost $90. Why so high? LOL. It is an old game. Shouldn't price be lower?

Anyway, may still buy because I need a new game. :inti

Thanks bro! It’s a beautiful looking rig with so much power. When I’m not gaming, it’s so quiet as well.

I love Gran Turismo. Wish it was available on PC but I’ve recently bought Forza which is meant to be really good as well.

What games are you looking forward to playing?

Will you be getting GTA 6?

Red Dead Redemption 2 was the best video game I have ever played. Can GTA 6 surpass that game? Would be nice if it can do that.

GTA 5 was pretty good. My 2nd favorite video game of all time (right behind RDR2).

When I was a kid, I used to like games like Doom, Skyroads, Road Rash, Need For Speed II, Tarzan, Virtua Cop II etc.
Skyroads was awesome. Tarzan as well. I still play Tarzan and Hercules on PSP but can't find an emulator to play skyroads.

in svr2011, you can turn Rey heel in Evan Bourne's storyline as well and he aligns himself Jack Swagger and Bellas.

Hercule. I played that too.

I had lots of games on my PC. I forgot the names of many. Another game I used to play was Raptor.

Also, DX Ball 2 was great.

Best set-up I’ve seen in some time you should get a steering wheel to! In the current landscape games will soon lose console exclusivity so you never know! If you like sim racing I’d recommend Dirt Rally 2.0, it’s one of the greatest racing games of all time imo & a great homage to all the old school PC rally games and especially the Collins McRae series. There’s a new licensed title now with Codemasters working with EA but I’ve not checked that out yet, but for pure sim & a raw driving experience I’ve not played anything better then Dirt Rally 2.0.

Ah I have a long list to get through, I am so terrible at finishing games, I completed RE 1 the remaster HD version during Covid and that was one of the best games I’ve ever played. I stick to arcade gaming and emulation mostly but in the background trying to complete Arkham Asylum and RE 2, after these I want to check out Read Dead series, Last Of Us, Uncharted etc

Oh and I always wanted to check Ghost Of Tsushima, love Japan, their culture and the way of the samurai!

But GTA 6 is something I’d get right away regardless and probably the point at which I will upgrade to PS5 as well.

Best set-up I’ve seen in some time you should get a steering wheel to!

I wish I had the space! My dream set-up is to have an L shaped desk set-up. First desk with 2 x 27" 1440p monitors like I have atm and then a 32 inch 4K monitor (with a steering room) on the other desk, with the PC sitting on top in between the two tables.

Imagine playing F1 on 4K

In the current landscape games will soon lose console exclusivity so you never know! If you like sim racing I’d recommend Dirt Rally 2.0, it’s one of the greatest racing games of all time imo & a great homage to all the old school PC rally games and especially the Collins McRae series. There’s a new licensed title now with Codemasters working with EA but I’ve not checked that out yet, but for pure sim & a raw driving experience I’ve not played anything better then Dirt Rally 2.0.

I used to love Colin McRae back in the day and I've heard great things about Dirt Rally 2.0. It's certainly one I need to add to my list.

I would love to play RE one day. MGS, RE and FF were the 3 best game series during the original PlayStation era.

I've completed all the Red Dead, Last of Us and Unchartered games. They're all brilliant.

Oh and I always wanted to check Ghost Of Tsushima, love Japan, their culture and the way of the samurai!

Same! This is supposed to be one hell of a game.

But GTA 6 is something I’d get right away regardless and probably the point at which I will upgrade to PS5 as well.

Make sure you complete the games you need before the end of the year because I think it will be released this November but I wouldn't be surprised if it got delayed.

Bought Ghost of Tsushima just now.

Hoping to start tomorrow in sha Allah.

Hopefully it will not disappoint.
