Couldn't have happened to a better Video Games company. Fully deserved after they lied to gamers.

What do folk think about the Steam Deck? handheld PC gaming but I’d imagine you could run MS applications to

Anyone playing Gran Turismo 7?

Awesome awesome game; so addictive and the last version I invested time in was GT 4!

Graphics are just out of this world! Haptic feedback is phenomenal.

Platinum is gonna be tough, Gold in all Licenses!

The games have been coming in fast the past few weeks.

Had to leave HFW inbetween and now fully engrossed in Elden Ring. Struggling with my first attempt at a Soulsborne game though.

I read Elden Ring is too hard and graphically no match with HFW. Any truth to this? (I have neither games as I am vested in GT7)

If I get a PS5 then I might get it, wont be the same on a PS4.

There were rumours GT7 could have free roam, that would be epic if it did. Nothing will challenge GT7 as a simulation, apart from Dirt Rally 2 maybe which has insane driving dynamics.

If GT7 had free roam or a title to compete with Forza Horizon that would be good. Looking at getting the Xbox Series X for Forza Horizon 4, it’s also set in the UK which is amazing

Can't help you here brother. I'm a console gamer and not much of a PC gamer at all. So I'm completely unaware of Steam Deck.

What I hate about this era is DLC, these developers make a killing off it. PC provides interesting alternatives if you are patient but that’s the problem lol

Even with consoles I wouldn't call myself a hardcore gamer. Never bought a DLC in my life. For me the game in it of itself is all I am interested in. I don't even look at what DLCs are available.

But yeah agree big time. Someone on the internet made this great analogy where he compared developers selling DLCs being akin to if fast-food restaurants sold the meat, lettuce and sauce of their burgers separately.

Elden Ring is tough especially the boss fights for someone new to these sort of games as Im finding out. But ill stick through it.

HFW has the most glorious looking world out of any game I have seen. The hype of Elden Ring got me but will jump back to finish Horizon once im done with it.

So after playing GT7 for 2 weeks, I can safely say GT7 is the best in the series. The graphics aside, the haptic feedback alone make GT7 a brilliant experience. It’s also rumoured that the first game to support PSVR2 will be GT7.

The only downside to GT7 is that it requires an internet connection, even when playing campaign mode! This came home to roost when the servers were down for 30 hrs yesterday, and no one could play GT7!

On free roam element, nothing comes close to the fun of Burnout Paradise IMO!

I saw the article on BBC regarding Hogwarts Legacy and thought there may be controversy because the game didn’t live up to expectations or something.

Clearly not the case, it seems liberal LGBTQ facists have driven a campaign to berate the game and malign any streamer showcasing it on twitch etc even going as as creating a website for the so called offenders lol ridiculous, their brain has fallen out their heads.

I wasn’t planning to get it but I will be looking to buy the game on the steam deck, critically it seems to have been well received

I also played Gran Turismo 1 and 3 on the ps1 and ps2, maybe it’s just me but I find the gameplay / driving mechanics to be better on the original GT

Radical liberals have hijacked everything; they are now trying that with video games. They are always mad about someone or something.

Going after a video game though lol it’s a stretch even for their shallow standards, too much time on their hands

Played both Ezio Trilogy and RDR2. Awesome games. Awesome storylines. It is a shame modern day AC games are not as good as their older games.

The new AC - Mirage - will be heading back to the old roots of Ezio trilogy. Ubisoft cannot do open world games like Rockstar.

Shame the game has been delayed though!

Rockstar Plans to Announce Much Anticipated ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’

Rockstar Games, a division of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., confirmed Wednesday that it will begin promoting a new Grand Theft Auto game next month.

The company plans to release a trailer for the game in December, according to a blog post by Rockstar’s president Sam Houser. The commercial for the game will coincide with Rockstar’s 25th anniversary.

Imo when I played Alan Wake 1, I was disappointed it. Game was medicore and I didn't understand the insane reviews. The story was bang average, gameplay was annoying, the light concept was cool but poorly executed so I was like what on earth is ign thinking?

However for Alan Wake 2, I love it. Its defo a mix of Resident Evil and a bit of Alan Wake 1 mechanics bit it's all polished and the story is really solid in this one

As for gameplay you'll like it if you like resident Evil and la noire. It has Resident Evil aspects bit also some la noire esc Detective elements

I remember playing Alan Wake, wondering why I ended up finishing it till the end. It was boring.

I'm tempted to get Alan Wake 2 for sure after having read your review of the game.

Alan Wake 2 is nothing like Alan Wake 1. Their different games altogether.

Also you don't need to play Alan Wake 1 to understand the story of 2.

The developers realised that the og game came out 13 years ago so highly unlikely anyone would remember anything lol.

Got the Plat for AC Mirage. Beautiful game, made more so by hearing the Azaan while roaming!

Another plat I am working on is the new Mortal Kombat - awesome game.

The new Spiderman is also a work of art, great story telling.

Currently playing Spider-Man, loving it! Did preorder CoD which is coming tomorrow, can’t wait to do TDM on that. 😁

I’ve forgotten the story for AW1. After I’ve completed AC Mirage, I think AW2 will be my next game to play.

Does anyone like playing Call of Duty Warzone, I've not played it for a while and was not that good at it.

Also, who here played C&C Generals and still think its one of the best games.

I like Warzone. Loved Warzone 1 but the current one is whack. Hope better things from WZ 3.

Really ? Thats sad, have not played the current one yet cause there is a huge update, will give it a try! Think i missed the season where they launched characters from The Boys show, would have chosen Homelander.

Yeah you haven't missed on Warzone 2.0 at all. Warzone 3 will come out next month. Apparently the new map will be similar to Verdansk, which will always hold a special place in the heart of Warzone fans because it was so good. Also, everyone was playing it during lockdown.

Woah that's quite exciting, yes Verdansk I know that place better than the city I live in, really had fun in the airport area specially the air traffic control tower and camped on the stadium.

Will be updating my version today and play some warm up games and I think its time I'll purchase a battle pass to get the premium stuff, do you think its worth paying 60-70 Euros for it, I've been dependent on basic weapons and RPG.

What was your highest kills score in any of the warzone game ? Mine was 32, cause I RPG'ed full squads.

Played Red Dead Redemption 2 recently.

I played it before but decided to play again. One of the best games I have ever played.

Waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6.

How long or short is AC Mirage compared to the previous three AC games?

I was put off from playing Valhalla and Odessy due to the length of those games. I wasn’t going to spend over 100 hours trying to get a platinum in those games.

From some reason, I am not excited about GTA 6. I remember when GTA 4 and 5 were announced, I was super hyped, but given the long wait for GTA 6, I don’t feel that excited for it.

Mirage is somewhere between 20 - 25 hours (Story + Plat), but if you decide to wander round like me then maybe around 40 hours. The map is relatively small compared to Valhalla and Odyssey, story is very simple and fairly short, and no way does it come close to the size of RPG AC games (Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla). I would say Mirage is about the same size/length as AC Rogue.

Mirage was meant to be Valhalla DLC, but Ubisoft decided to make a full release out of it, so it's not that big at all.

Over all a fun game, back to AC basics (none of the RPG stuff that plagued the last 3 releases), and it is proper lightweight and some of the scenes are just drop dead gorgeous!

Only negative aspect of Mirage is the combat, seems a bit weak and unresponsive at times, but gets through especially if you decide to take the stealth routes.

Game design is pretty cool too. It takes a while to get used to the map, and there is the round city which is enclosed by a wall. Took me a while to figure out how to get through it, but once you sych the viewpoints, you can easily travel in and out of the city.

One thing though, I do not think it is worth paying for the deluxe edition, you are better off paying for the standard edition - unless you want the additional cosmetics and weapons. You can get the Ezio outfit for free either way, and there is no need for any time saver purchases either, that's how easy/small the game is.

For me Mirage is miles better than Odyssey and Valhalla, and honestly, Mirage is the best AC game after the Ezio Trilogy, and AC3 (IMO).

RDR 2 is the greatest game that I played. Video games normally don’t make me feel this way, but I got quite emotional during the finale of the game.

I have clocked 4000 hrs+ on RDR2 from first day release and I finally stopped playing it after the 5 year anniversary which was about a month ago! Shame Rockstar did not invest in RDR2 with expansion packs etc especially in the on-line mode.

Easily the best AAA game I have every played, going to be tough to top RDR2.

Indeed.

The game had about 110 main missions. It was very good from start to finish. A masterpiece.

I heard they are planning to release RDR3. Looking forward to it.

I don’t think RDR 3 is coming out for another 5 years at least, sadly. I miss the days when video games development didn’t take a long time.

RDR1 got an amazing DLC in the form of undead nightmare. A shame we never got something similar for RDR2.

Sadly, Rockstar games only seem to care about the online mode these days, after the mega success of GTA online.

It is good to know that Mirage isn’t anywhere near the length of the RPG games. That was my biggest fear. I’ll be sure to buy the game soon.

Also, glad to see another AC3 fan. It is by far the most underrated game in the series.

Sadly, Rockstar games only seem to care about the online mode these days, after the mega success of GTA online.

I think the reason is that RDR2 is a proper slow burner, and it didn't appeal to the trigger happy gamers who love the fast paced action of CoD, GTA, etc. Even though RDR2 is in the top 10 selling games of all time, it lost gamers when it came to longevity and post story play. I found this to be odd as RDR2 post story exploration is just another experience altogether. The online had some good roles and DLC, but it got so bad that Rockstar released the same Halloween pass for 3 years!

Rockstar have hinted at RDR3, but I think we are a few years away from a release because Rockstar will be milking GTA6 and assigning more resources to their next cash cow.

I loved AC3! Invested 170 hrs. The Wilderness in AC3 was just amazing, story was great, had the perfect balance between land and sea too (unlike AC4 which I didn't rate much), but I loved traversing through the woods and upgrading the Homestead!

Last 5 years, I have played these franchises --> Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Grand Theft Auto, Batman, FIFA, and Red Dead Redemption.

========================

Finished games:

Assassin's Creed: Unity
Assassin's Creed: Black Flag
Assassin's Creed: Rogue
Assassin's Creed: Syndicate
Assassin's Creed Ezio Trilogy
Assassin's Creed 3
Red Dead Redemption 2
FIFA 23

=======================

Started but didn't finish:

Far Cry 3
Batman: Arkham Knight
Grand Theft Auto 5
Assassin's Creed Origins

=======================

I am a fan of old school Assassin's Creed. Didn't like Valhalla and Odyssey (felt like a different game).

Mirage will be better hopefully. I may play this one.

AC Black Flag had better sea battles. I finished that game 5 times.

I feel like AC 3 should be remade with better graphics.

I am mostly a single mode player, but I did play RDR online and I must admit that I was bored after a few hours. GTA online was fun, and I can understand why Rockstar have milked it for the past decade. But RDR online was terrible imo, and it is not a surprise that Rockstar gave up on it pretty early.

GTA 6: Trailer for new game revealed after online leak

A first glimpse of the sixth game in the Grand Theft Auto series has finally been revealed after the trailer for the long-awaited blockbuster was leaked.

Developer Rockstar pressed publish 15 hours before a heavily trailed release after a low-quality copy spread online.

The 90-second teaser confirmed the game will be set in Miami-inspired Vice City and star a female protagonist, Lucia, for the first time since the 1990s.

But the waiting isn't over, as the game isn't due to be released until 2025.

The latest main game in the series will be the sequel to 2013's smash hit GTA V, which became the second best-selling video game of all time, following Minecraft.

There have been seemingly endless rumours and leaks for the past decade about GTA VI.

The mere confirmation that a trailer was coming - an announcement of an announcement, if you will - was enough to spark global headlines in November as desperate fans sought out any information about the new game.

The trailer shows people racing cars, partying on boats and a man pulling an alligator out of a swimming pool, all to the Americana sounds of Love is a Long Road by Tom Petty.

Gamer Jess, known as "Rage Darling" online, usually streams multiplayer RPGs but said she's been "keeping an eye on" the upcoming game.

"If you're not at least intrigued by GTA, you're a bit of a black sheep at this point, because it's so big," she said.

She said the series "has always been a man's game", but the new female perspective has left her intrigued.

While it's been a long time since GTA had a female protagonist in a mainline game - the last was back on the original PlayStation - she thinks the impact on the wider industry will be big.

"I think this is just going to show a lot of other game developers and AAA developers that having a female front and centre is a non-issue," she said.

More questions than answers
But while the trailer provides lots of things for fans to chew over, some questions have yet to be answered.

Chief among them is which consoles the game will release on, as this information was not revealed in the video.

However, Take-Two Interactive, which publishes the game, has announced GTA VI will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X when it releases in 2025.

There is no further information on the release date, or on a potential PC version - though if it follows the same pattern of previous games in the series, a PC release will follow.

GTA IV and V both came out on PC several months after they launched on console.

Fans are also asking who provides the voice behind lead character Lucia, but the identity of the voice actor remains a mystery.

It has taken a long time for the new game to come, and James Binns, chairman of gaming media firm Network N, said that might be explained by the sheer success of GTA V, which sold 190 million copies worldwide.

"It's one of the biggest games in the world and it's kept alive now by GTA Online, an online game where you rob banks and build gangs," he said.

"That means it's at the top of the play charts most weeks now for Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

"They spent over a billion dollars on it, so it's going to be epic in scale. This is going to be the most expensive game ever made."

Previously the gaming giant's president Sam Houser said the December release for the trailer was intended to coincide with its 25th anniversary.

Originally developed in Dundee in 1997 by DMA Design, later known as Rockstar North, GTA has been as critically and commercially successful as it has been controversial.

Questions were even asked in the House of Lords about the first game's violent content.

Rockstar has separately announced a deal with Netflix to bring several of its titles to the streaming giant's gaming offering.

GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas - all much-beloved by gamers - will be made available to Netflix subscribers on mobile devices on 14 December.

After a wait of a decade, we are finally going to have GTA VI. This is going to be HUGE.

Not gonna lie, I was kinda underwhelmed by the GTA VI trailer. Maybe because the wait has been so long that I don’t feel to excited for it.

‘GTA 6’ system requirements unveiled in now viral report

The fans of the prolific gaming franchise ‘Grand Theft Auto (GTA)‘ were over the moon after the trailer of ‘GTA 6‘ was unveiled by Rockstar Games.

The trailer was visually stunning thanks to the state-of-the-art engine and performance tools used to create the sixth instalment in the series.

However, fans also asked what the minimum and recommended system requirements for the PC version. Sports website Sportskeeda has mentioned the requirement to run the game.

Minimum System Requirements:
OS: Windows 10/11
Processor: Intel Core i7 8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
Memory: 16GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060/ AMD Radeon RX6500XT
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 150GB Solid State Drive

Recommended System Requirements:
OS: Windows 11 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i9-10900K/AMD Ryzen 5 5900X
Memory: 32GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080/AMD Radeon RX 6800XT
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 150GB NVMe SSD
Sportskeeda had admitted that the requirements were not official and could differ drastically.

It is pertinent to mention Rockstar Games had stated that ‘GTA 6‘ will be available on Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Series S consoles.

They did not mention a PC version.

As far as the story goes, ‘GTA 6‘ will be the first in the series to have a female protagonist. The plot revolves around inmate Lucia who partners with an unnamed person.

The duo are probably up to no good as they rob stores and evade police car chases.

Nia Jax on the car rooftop doing her thang was a nice touch though

So I took the plunge and redeemed my Playstation Star credits for Elden Ring.

Oh. My. Days!

This game is relentless torture! Technically awesome etc but I think I have died about 500 times already. The difficulty level is way above the Brutal mode on the Uncharted series, and I am not even 5% in on the game! The idea you lose your Rumes when defeated (but have one chance to reclaim them from the spot where you lost them) is just mind boggling!

Who likes these sort of games? I am amazed there is a market for this type of game, but I can understand why it won GOTY, but no way is Elden Ring for the casual gamers like me who want to relax and just have fun! Hats off to the players who have completed the game multiple times on Game Plus mode.

Kind of regretting redeeming my PS Star credits as I do not see myself playing Elden Ring ever again!

You need to have special kind of patience to play games like Elden Ring, Dark Soul, Bloodborne, etc. I sadly don't have that kind of patience. If I played such difficult games, I would need to buy a new controller every week.

Start with Sekiro. Its far less forgiving and once you nail down blocking in Sekiro, uou enter a state of flow and its just feels so freaking good. Then you can move on to Bloodborne, Soulsborne etc etc

BTW taking couple of days off to complete GOW Valhalla.

I got the Steam Deck but mainly use it for emulation/arcade gaming for that very reason, it can easily play anything all the way up to PS2 nicely. Out of all the legendary wrestling games, I keep playing Here Comes The Pain; I don’t think they have ever topped that. And then there’s mario kart, super smash bros etc which run flawlessly and better than they do on the switch. The device is capable of more although I’ve not had the time to explore it further, the OLED model came out recently

GTA 6: Grand Theft Auto VI could smash revenue records

Rockstar Games's wildly successful Grand Theft Auto franchise is set to make its return with GTA VI in 2025. It may not only succeed – but blow its predecessor's revenue out of the water.

It's been condemned by Britain, Germany and France. It's been outright banned in Brazil. Its violence and vehicular mayhem has drawn the ire of organisations including the Haitian-American Grassroots Coalition, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the UK's Freedom from Torture organisation. It's also spawned memes and a singular cult fandom.

This subject of both controversy and culture – Grand Theft Auto – is expected to make its return in 2025 with Grand Theft Auto VI, widely known as GTA 6. It's the first release of the game since 2013 – and to call it "wildly anticipated" in its community is a great understatement.

Regardless of whether you feel the game represents the worst of digital humanity, or herald its bold creativity and innovation, GTA is a pop-culture force nearly impossible to ignore.

When the long-anticipated first GTA 6 trailer leaked online in early December, the surge of excitement forced developer Rockstar Games to release the official version of the trailer earlier than planned (with the game seemingly headed for a 2025 release, the prevailing notion was that fans wouldn't get that sneak peek until sometime in 2024 at the earliest).

The teaser got huge views, dominated conversation and signalled what could be a massive pay-out for Rockstar Games as well as the companies the enable game-play, such as hardware developers and retailers.

GTA is already a wildly financially successful franchise. This year, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, revealed that Grand Theft Auto V has sold more than 190 million copies as of September 2023, bringing the whole franchise up to 410 million units sold and a net revenue of $781m (£623m). These figures include sales of the game across multiple platforms and consoles, remastered re-releases and in-game purchases. All told, the franchise has earned more than $8bn (£6.4bn) since 2008.

Expectations are high for GTA 6, not only for its graphics and playability, but also for its business potential. Grand Theft Auto V holds claim to the best opening week sales in video-game history, earning $1.15bn (£1.2bn) in just five days.

Yet despite this extremely high bar, Dmitri Williams, a gaming business expert and professor at the USC Annenberg School for Communications, in California, expects the new release to perform even better.

'A bigger pie'

The value of the video game industry is staggering. By the end of 2023, experts project revenues to reach $250bn (£199bn).

The popularity of esports and free-to-play games that generate massive revenue through in-game purchases and licensing partnerships plays a big role in the astounding financial footprint; as has the introduction of other blockbuster titles, which have also broadened the market.

The film and television industries have also cashed in on gaming's cult fandom through licensing. HBO's The Last of Us series (based on the 2013 Sony game) pulled in more than 4.7 million viewers for its premiere alone; while the Super Mario Brothers Movie grossed $1.36bn (£1.08bn) worldwide, in addition to scoring three Golden Globe nominations – boosting Nintendo's profits to more than $1bn (£800m) for 2023.

This overall global industry growth stands to boost GTA 6's revenue potential once it hits the market, says Williams.

"The brand is as strong or stronger than it was before, but additionally the game industry is larger. If it maintains the same slice of the pie, it's going to be big, because it will come from a bigger pie," he says. "The games industry is simply massive globally, and is no single genre or platform. It's so large and so varied that even fractions of it are larger than whole parallel industries like movies."

Big spending for a big pay-out

Experts identify the release of 2001's Grand Theft Auto III as a turning point for the game's massive popularity. Video-game development grew by leaps and bounds from the late 90s through the early 2000s. Those improvements were on display with GTA 3's innovative and ground-breaking game-play, which propelled it from a novelty to an absolute must play.

Rather than following a linear storyline or trajectory, players could spend hours simply wandering around and exploring the world within the game. Now, this is more the norm, with nearly all major games built within a free-form, open world – but at the time, GTA's approach was a huge innovation.

Creating this ground-breaking type of game has been expensive for Rockstar Games. At the time of its development, GTA 5 was one of the most expensive games ever made, with a budget of $265m (£212m). Of course, the price tag went on to be plenty worth it, accounting for that $8bn it's made since.

For as expensive as Grand Theft Auto V was to create, game-industry analysts are betting that Rockstar Games is going in even bigger this time around. Some speculate the total cost of development and marketing for GTA 6 could be in the $2bn (£1.6bn) range. If that pans out, it'd be it the most expensive video game of all time. But yet again, the eye-watering development cost could also be a savvy investment – industry pundits expect GTA 6 to clear $1bn in its first 24 hours.

The fact that fans have been waiting more than a decade for a new version may be a key driver to help Rockstar Games achieve these sales. But experts say the game's repellent-to-some content may also be a key revenue driver for Grand Theft Auto.

In the past, outrage around the franchise has been good PR and marketing that's converted curiosity into fandom – and fandom into sales. If the company pushes the shock-factor envelope with GTA 6 – effectively dousing past versions with gasoline and lighting them on fire – sales could spike.

Williams says although the Grand Theft Auto franchise is no longer unique in its style of game play, "the buzz and shock value will continue to be a key part of its appeal".

I bought Assassin's Creed: Mirage finally. Can't wait to play it.

Bought Marvel's Spider-Man 2 as well. Haven't played a Spider-Man game in a very long time.

Have a basic gaming laptop, and thinking to buy one of the consoles, but quite confused if I should go for PS 5 or Xbox.

Go with PS5 as it has far better exclusives such as Spider-Man, God Of War, etc.

Xbox has been on a decline since the 360 generation.

But still 12 years is a long wait. During my childhood, we used to get a GTA game literally every year.

That was an insane schedule they kept to looking back pretty impressive in hindsight, it wasn’t long before it came out on PSP either!

We’re now victims of the modern video game monopoly involving DLC and online gaming, GTA online especially, long after the release people still put time and ££££ in, allowing them the luxury of time, but it is a bit too long for sure

I played Dirt Rally 2 after a while, the mechanics and realism is still so excellent, top tier rally doesn’t get better. Hoping to start/complete RE 2 this winter.

Finished Red Dead Redemption 2 for the third time.

Playing Assassin's Creed: Black Flag now (this is my 5th time). Finished it 4 times before.

I have always been a fan of games related to cricket and first-person shooter games. Has anyone played DEAD SPACE? You will be amazed by the animation and graphics of this game.
