Video Game Thread

The story was more dynamic with the psycho (Josh) was stalking their every move. Wendigos kind of messed up the story. It's still a very good game.

It wouldn't work because Josh wouldn't kill his friends only get revenge by scaring and hurting them. For example the saw Josh set up was rigged to kill the Josh clone/body only.

LOL Black ops 3 got 9.2/10 from IGN while everyone else is gave it 7ish.

Who's ready for Fallout 4

also learnt that Arkham Knight re-release still has issues with low end PCs  #ThankYouRockSteady

Well, IGN aren't strangers to getting cozy with big publishers.

They always give COD 9s every year so no surprises there.

The way how they try to make games sound interesting or dis-interesting is unbelievable. Im not one of those who believe in conspiracy theories or say things like "the election is rigged" but I have a strong feeling that IGN receives money for the rating it gives lol. Watch their video reviews.

IGN give good ratings to every COD game and every other game that isn't a shooter is belittled.

How is the story? Is it engaging till the end? There was a con of it on ign that it has story padding. What do u say?

I'll tell you this. I never played any of the Witcher games. And my system couldn't handle The Witcher 3.

So I completed this game in 800x600. That's how AWESOME! this game is. Worth every second of your time. Just go and play

Will definitely play. Will buy PS4 in January 2016.

if you havent played previous mgs games (especially metal gear 1, metal gear solid 1 and metal gear solid 3 then the story will be difficult to comprehend. It has its own story though which is alright. No doubt the best game of the generation so far after witcher 3 and fallout 4 and maybe even bloodborne

Will the new star wars game be any good? I use to be a huge fan of Star Fox and really enjoy action/adventure games in space

Apparently it won't have a single player campaign mode; that's a bit weird :)) Also going by the gameplay doesn't look like there is any action in space?

No idea, not a big Star Wars fan, but a lot of people are happy it's happening as the previous games were "awesome".

Tomb Raider is rubbish imo.

Much prefer Uncharted.

never played UC because I needed a PS3/4 to play it.

I played Tomb Raider reboot 2013 and was instantly in love with it because the last TR I played was Chronicles but then one friend told me that TR 2013 was actually a rip off version of UC2 :mv

TR 2013 was amazing. I love that game.

Well, Tomb Raider's reboot was inspired by Uncharted's success so yeah that's why he might have said that.

I've never played Uncharted. TR's first four games were the best. I loved them as a kid. Their two most recent games are good as well imo.

You should try out the new one when it comes out if you have the time. Uncharted 4, it looks awesome.

Haven't played it, assuming you mean the Assassins Creed game. Bit burned out on open world games, especially after Dragon Age: Inquisition and Arkham Knight turned out to be rubbish. It's the reason I haven't started Witcher 3 yet even though it came free with my gtx 970 and I've got no intention of getting fallout 4 until it pops up in a steam sale next summer.

WC-Passion you reckon there will be better deals for a PS4 console/bundle on black friday or boxing day

Is black ops 3 good? I've played it a few times round my mates and it seemed fun
Cos if it is alright I'll end up leaving ps3 for ps4 lol

Nobody plays COD anymore. just 12 year old kids. Every COD is the same so you can pretty much guess from there

Yeah, do you have an Argos near you? I know you live in the UK. They have some nice deals.

Any opinions on Dishonoured? Thinking about giving it a shot since I really enjoyed the Hitman games...well most of them lol

Was good. Graphics not outstanding but level design was brilliant. Not much replay value for me but i enjoyed it the first time. Bit overrated but definitely worth playing. If you love stealth youll love it

There is but am not sure if I should buy them today because there could be better deals on boxing day. The best deal I seen so far was a PS4 with Fifa 16 and Star Wars for £268, there was another deal PS4 and Uncharted for £214 but that deal is no longer available.

What's the highest round u guys been in zombies, black ops one

Me kino round 46

Fallout 4 will probably win the Game of the Year. Decent game. Level of gameplay detail and depth of the story are pretty amazing. Graphics are OK.

I might be wrong in saying this but I heard that Fallout 4 is just about only a decent game and not as spectacular as people made it out to be. I'm a bit gutted in seeing Naughty Dog cancelling Jak & Daxter 4 in place of Uncharted 4 since there's hardly any platformers barring Mario.

I think the first 10 hours or so are pretty ordinary (very easy to die), but then it completely turns on its head once you venture deep into the wasteland and get to gear up.

Most ppl play it as a shooter, but it's really an RPG shooter combo. More like Skyrim.

For FPS shooters, I still haven't played anything like Bioshock Infinite yet - but that series seems to be done and dusted.

I've played and finished the first two Bioshock games but I've never played Infinite which looks pretty good because you're not underwater this time. I wanna see a Red Dead Redemption 2.

In recent news I just found out that Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy 7 has been announced as a DLC character for Super Smash Bros 4! A bit disappointed that Solid Snake didn't make it this time but still have hope.

The_KING, since you liked Until Dawn I recommend you get Life Is Strange. You can rewind time in the game and your choices matter on what happens later in the story. It's a story based game and there is season pass that has 6 whole episodes for £15.

Thanks bro. I'll check it out.

Just Cause 3 doesn't look that impressive to me. There are way too many explosions for my liking.

I went to Pax Aus last month and watched the Fallout 4 panel. Their sales pitch was so good that it made me go out and buy the overpriced fallout pip boy edition. I've never played a fallout before, so wasn't too sure what to expect.

I have to say it's quite good. I've played a lot of CoD in my time (even have over 100,000+kills with a 4+ k/d on MW3). This game is nothing like a cod except you can choose to play it in first person mode. The story line is intriguing and has gameplay does have a learning curve to it. I don't think this game has any contenders for GOTY this year. MGS5 was a little too repetitive if you ask me.

Make sure you use the VATS in Fallout 4. I started playing the survival difficulty level and pretty soon realized that you can't really shoot from your hip - unless you want to burn through the ammo like no tomorrow.

The cool thing about the game is that all the side quests are major stories of their own. For example, the Railroad story arc starts in an eerily similar fashion as the Da Vinci Code. And if you are like me and join multiple factions, you will soon have to either betray one or find yourself in a dilemma over who to support and who to lie to. I don't think the game developers intended it to be this way - but it's mindblowing to have to make these tough choices and eventually alter the ending.

Disappointed with the graphics though. Trust a textures mod will come along the way it did for Skyrim.

I will be connecting an original N64 controller to my laptop to use on the project64 emulator soon; I also have a rumblepak but not sure how I will be getting that to work dashing_man but there must be a software out there or some kind of patch/plugin. Can't wait to relive my childhood and play games like 007 Golden Eye, Super Mario Kart, Wrestlemania 2000, Body Harvest, perfect dark, crash bandicoot, donkey kong and Star Fox 64

"Make sure you use vats". That never crossed my mind lol. In all seriousness normal shotting is much improved inf allout 4. In fallout 3 it was nearly impossible to kill someone without vats. It certainly wasnt much fun.

Yeah I don't use VATS enough and do burn through ammo. It hasn't affected me yet as I play on the first person mode, so shooting has been fairly accurate. But going through the Glowing Sea was a pain. Death Claw's and Radscorpions aaaagh.

One thing I haven't used at all is power armour, except in the first mission where we meet Preston. Is there any significant advantages to use it?

there should be a plugin, google it

Far Cry 4 or Assassins creed Syndicate ? If you had played either one of them, tell me what you think about them.

If you have played FC3 you will enjoy FC4. Gameplay is exactly the same as FC3and the story line is decent as well. I would recommend it over Syndicate. Since it's lder you'll probably get it cheaper as well.

I was thoroughly disappointed by Assassins Creed Unity, so I didn't get Syndicate. But many first hand reviews say it's a lot better than Unity.

They are both Ubisoft games so bear in mind, they will be flawed one way or another.

Some really impressive games at The Game Awards. Far Cry Primal looks impressive but it's first person so I won't be buying it. Looking forward to The Walking Dead: Michonne

The power armors your get in the beginning are nothing to write back home about. The moment they get damaged - which is pretty often - you have to head back to the workshop and repair them. But you do need some sort of armor, and in the beginning, most of the armor is flimsy. If you play in the survival mode, you run into a lot of 'legendary' enemies, who drop pretty cool and rare items, incl. special armor.

Once you get the X01 power armor though, and you are good with VATS and FPS gameplay, you become nearly invincible. You can mod it to use a helmet that tags all the bad guys on your screen. There is also a jetpack mod that lets you jet off to higher elevations. This thing does burn fusion cores like no tomorrow. And slows you down a bit.
