Hasan Ali taunts Indian army with his wicket-taking celebration at Wagah border

What minnow-esque behavior. I guess after Miandad's 6 in the 1980s, minnow-minded Pakistanis have found another one-off incident to keep milking.

Winners look forward, flukers look back in nostalgia.. Those Bangladeshi fans who still talk about 2007 WC have found some new company looks like.:ishant

We know it hurts.

India and Pakistan rarely play each other. So, we can only judge what happened the last time they met.

And it was BRUTAL.

Why are the Indians bringing CT Final here?
Hassan would have done it even if we had lost

Can anyone explain the story of the soldier behind Hassan, the guy in black. What exactly is he doing? Is he copying Hassan's actions and communicating in his theatrical moves to the opposition Army that this is what our nation represents?

This is a serious question, sure the black clad soldier didn't rehearse his spontaneous moves at that moment

Tbh it was very funny and he was laughing while doing it too. He seems free spirited with the dancing at PSL and this. I'm sure the swagger is because of the CT win. No harm done. I just hope he can keep his spirit up when he gets a phainty on dead tracks from Indians in Asia cup and when the Indian Twitter trolls have a field day with him. Boy, they are just brutal.

LOL! That was funny! He was laughing! Indians are offended by this! Even more fun!

I thought Afridi and the Akmals were a uniquely odd bunch. Add another one to the club !

He is a paindu. Needs to put into his place in next wc, as all Pakistani legends from start of wc's. Wasim, Waqar, Shoaib, Inzi...And Imran..

Good stuff from Hasan and shouldn't be taken too seriously by people on both sides of the border. Light-hearted and harmless.

Lol.. I guess Indian soldiers may have thought this guy is from circus .Doubt any of our guys knows who is guy and why he is acting strangely.

Pak cricketer Hasan Ali has ‘field day’ at Wagah, BSF to lodge protest

DURING A drill performed by armed forces of India and Pakistan at Attari-Wagah border daily, Pakistani cricketer Hasan Ali entered the flag-lowering ceremony from the Pakistani side Saturday evening and made his signature wicket-taking gesture towards the Border Security Force (BSF) and Indian audience.

The BSF has taken strong note of a civilian from Pakistan “interfering” in the ceremony on the Pakistani side. As per protocol, the ceremony is to be conducted only by the BSF on the Indian side and Rangers on the Pakistani side.

“The act has hit the sanctity of the parade. We will lodge a protest with Pakistan Rangers,” BSF Inspector General (Punjab Frontier) Mukul Goel told The Sunday Express over phone.

Goel added, “Anyone can make any aggressive gesture in the viewers’ gallery on both sides but no public person can interfere in the parade. Before or after the parade, the people are free to do such things, but not in the middle of the parade,” Goel added.

BSF spokesperson and DIG R S Kataria said, “I am on leave. I have inquired into it. A BSF officer at Attari has told me that the national cricket team of Pakistan had come to witness the ceremony at Wagah. One of the cricketers from their team started making provocative gestures during the drill. It happened on Pakistani side. Pakistani officers later made that player sit. Since it is a drill of forces of two countries, BSF is lodging protest with Pakistan Rangers.”

Two BSF officers at Attari declined to comment on the matter, saying they were “not authorised to speak to the media”.

In a video that went viral, Ali is seen making his way into the midst of the ceremony as Rangers look on. Ali, a medium pace bowler, is seen patting on his thigh, raising arms like Rangers and celebrating just as he does after taking a wicket before a man in civilian clothes escorts him back amid applause from Pakistani audience. Ali’s act spans nearly 40 seconds.

The official Twitter handle of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) posted a number of photographs of Pakistani cricket team’s visit to Wagah Saturday, among them a picture of Ali wearing a red cap.

PCB also retweeted another a tweet by another Pakistani cricketer, Shadab Khan, in which Khan tweeted a video of Ali’s act and wrote: “Mera dost @RealHa55an entertaining everyone at Wahga border. He really does know how to engage the crowd.”

A video titled ‘Hasan Ali gatecrashed the flag lowering ceremony at the Wagah Border to hype up the crowd with his trademark wicket celebration’ and uploaded by Pakistani newspaper Dawn on its Facebook page went viral and had nearly 12,000 ‘likes’, 2,000 comments, 9,800 shares and 22,5000 views by late evening Saturday.

Between Afridi's Tweet and Hassan Celebration at the Wagah border Parosis are really having a horrid couple of weeks :)) :))

I think him and Shadab Khan have really taken their success to their heads, needs to be put into place.. They are always pulling pranks on everyone, there is only a matter of time when they rub someone the wrong way and get into trouble, or go down the Umar Akmal road..

Remember Shehzad was a golden boy once, and all went bad for him after he tried to preach Islam to Dilshan, and then got hit in the ball with the head. Everything changed for him after that

Some of the comments are just...what the hell is this? Oh, yea, it’s the internet.

Dude two countries are not at the best of relations, every country needs to be respected... He himself said that celebration is a bomb exploding. Make what you want of that but this is offensive and completely out of line.. PLayers should be promoting peace rather than creating an atmosphere of enimosity.

There is a reason Wasim, Waqar and Imran are respected like no other in India... its because they were classy and gave respect to other countries without meddling into the politics...

We found Sehwag's remarks about Baap and baita very offensive and off the line... I'm surprised who allowed Hassan to act like that

Just because you won the emerging player of the world doesn't give you to act like a total buffoon

True gentleman Azhar. Also We need ishant to do his celebration(one he did againist steve smith) to counter hasan.

Atleast he doesn't have to hide behind anonymity of an online forum to act big

You seem to know a lot about that :smith

As a bowler Hasan seems pretty good, but his behaviour reflects minnow mentality. Can't blame him. He's watched his team get battered like minnows tournament after tournament by their biggest rival. That sort of consistent pain triggers the minnow nerve, it would seem.

After the initial irritation watching this passes, you actually feel a bit sorry for him :uak

:))) :))) #triggered

India will lose to Pakistan in the Asia Cup and drop the streak next year.

When Tendulkar didnt bother to congratulate the Pakistani team after the thumping India received on the final at the oval, he pretty much showed his feelings towards the Pakistani public. Hes diplomatic and boring, thats his choice.

I dont understand the logic here. What has Tendulkar got to do with the CT Final?

Its like saying, Imran Khan did not congratulate India at WC win, thus showing his true colours.

And Tendulkar is not a professional cricketer anymore. Why should he care about Pakistan winning?

Lol "swag"

Dude what are you 14?

People have their own personality and their own way of expressing it. I love Kohli's way of dealing with the indo-pak issue. At the same time not every Indian and Pakistani player has to act like Kohli to be likeable.

Hassan Ali is a world figure. He represents his country. So, whatever his natural behaviour is, he needs to keep it at home.
Love goes much farther than such antics. We also love Pakistani players and had he made a friendly gesture towards the Indian crowd, the respect and love for him would have grown tenfolds. Its not for nothing that we love Inzi so much, Shoaib and Wasim so much.

Azhar is as gentleman as one can be, Good stuff from him. Cricketers need to remain separate from this type of political things.

A bit stupid, but nothing to get upset about.

But still, I would hope none of the Indian cricketers do it. I really like the way Kohli carries himself nowadays. Shows a lot of class.

Uhmm no sorry. When did Shezad ever reached a level 10% close to shadab and hasan? NEVER.

It is only fair that we respond in kind.

Off you go, Sreesanth!

I didnt see the video.

However, I think we have other issues to worry about, than a stupid celebration.

Clearly BSF India feels it is sacrilige.

Both Wasim and Akhtar had said controversial stuff about Indians earlier.I am an Indian and I dont think Hassan Ali has done anything sacrilegious .Such things spice up the coming Indo-Pak game and he will get a lot of lip from Indians.

Indians are so badly triggered by this, makes it all the more hilarious for me. :)))

Truly a very sensitive and insecure nation, gets triggered by tweets and small things.

As Afridi's tweet, may this act occupy Indian Media for 10 times longer and have a never ending Indian media theater to enjoy.

Slim Nation which triggered by Sehwag and Gambhir tweets are now lecturing. No thanks. Which nation is insecure and trouble maker for whole world, we all know.

Forgot about Gambhir and sehwag
The nation which got triggered by 5 year old Nephew of Suresh Raina lecturing others about insecurity...#Facepalm

The whole idea of Wagah border antics is show of strength and mocking only. If it is okay for the guards to do it, why is it not okay for an international cricketer to do the same?

I think this was a great idea by PCB or whoever came up with the plan.

I am an Indian and i know for a fact my country has done everything in its abilities to put down and hurt Pakistan and Pakistan cricket at every opportunity it got. It was subtle years ago but now with the Indian celebrities, media and overall population openly spreading hate comments against Pakistanis, i see these sort of drills by Pakistan as a perfect retaliation and nation building exercise.

So yes i feel deeply trolled seeing this but i see all the reasons for Pakistanis to feel pumped up about this.

No we shouldn't fall to hasan's level, chottay log chotti baatein

:)))

Yeah we see how indians stoop to their level to come and do psy ops on Pakistani websites and forums.

If one remembers this joke Raju performing 'Sarfaraz rona nahin' last year before the final of Champions Trophy on Wagah, indians don't account their aane do, mauka mauka to try to humiliate the other. Sarfaraz was also there, really hoped Sarfaraz should've accompanied Hasan on the edge of the border gate holding a CT trophy or gestured the number 180 that would be really awesome.

Brings memories back to this video on the eve of CT Final, where a lovely BSF jawan was helping out Raju spread hatred and mockery of Pakistani cricket team. I am sure all those people commenting about Hassan being unprofessional were clapping and cheering when a BSF jawan was showing her professionalism by holding a mic for a third grade comedian.

Hypocrisy knows no bounds. Syed1 Varun ahmedwaqas92 rhony

Proud of Hasan Ali. He did no harm, his celebration is synonymous with him, and frankly speaking, I think a few Indian soldiers were expecting it.

As some one has already pointing out, Indians were in concert mode at the border before the CT17 final.

In case you are wondering, here is Raju's reaction after the CT17 final:

[utube]Itm-ymTkQ_o[/utube]

I don't think this was very professional behaviour from Hasan Ali. Unnecessary.

Your bhaijaan has been watching cricket since nearly 20 years and let him tell you that itn all the India-Pakistan cricket matches e has seen the 2017 CT final defeat for India was the most humiliating defeat of all India-Pakistan encounters. The scar Pakistan gave India that day and humiliation that followed as a result of the shameless and low life trolling by me fellow Indian fans and so called celebrities has hurt so much that every big win we had over Pakistan before that match means nothing now.

I honestly do not see India avenging that humiliation anytime soon given Pakistani awaaam is not likely to replicate the jahaalat that Indians stooped to during CT 2017 and that is something that will always make sure even if Pakistan loses he shame will never be nearly as much as what Indians were subjected to for that loss in front of the whole cricketing world.

Honestly that is precisely the India i forever became an unproud Indian.

The logic is Simple. Tendulkar is very much respected and Loved in Pakistan just as he is in India, he was at the stadium on the day. If he really didnt want to show his pain at losing so badly to Pakistan, maybe he should have just remained silent a couple of days and got on with congratulating the Indian Hockey team or whatever. Instead he didnt bother to acknowledge Pakistan publically. Its not a big deal, its simply an answer to someone who said what if Tendulkar did what Hassan Ali did. And the answer is that Tendulkar has done what he had to do in the past. Its your fans that dragged Tendulkar into this not us!

Now that someone has reminded us about Raju Srivastavs antics.... I dare say it should have been Fakhar Zaman leading the parade. That would have been epic.

Its funny how Indians are very used to starting the banter and teasing, but when Pakistan respond hard with some genuine zeal they all go hiding into their shell. It took Realist G Rashid Latif to bury Studio Gangster Sehwaf, after which he was never really the same again.

How hard is Mauka Mauka going to hurt now knowing the devastation that unfolded last summer at the oval!

Oye Rana!

All jokes aside, Rashid Latif resorted to the lowest possible level of jahalat in retaliation to Sehwag's trolling. No sensible person should ever defend the sort of comments Rashid Latif, if i was a Pakistani i would be ashamed of it.

Behave,

Consider this a warning.

Yup. It was quite crass from both sides. Agree. However, considering Sehwag started it, he needed to be responded in kind which RA did. Not going to commend him for it though. Sehwag self owned him post final.

There is nothing serious in this celebration. Our media is hyping it too much.
But, that was a bit unprofessional.
If india wins the asia cup then god knows how much hassan ali will be trolled.
Before ct 2017 our fans were on cloud 9 and this time its your turn.
Asia cup and world cup phainties are waiting for you, before that enjoy as much as you can.

Its lovely seeing all the Indians going crazy over this. I say we should have an annual event where our cricketers go to Wagah and do their celebrations.

Imagine fat Umar Akmal doing the dab at the border. That would really put the cat amongst the pigeons :uakmal

Haha! Can't believe this has garnered such reaction.

I have zero issues with Hassan Ali doing his celebration at the border. :salute

How hard is Mauka Mauka going to hurt now knowing the devastation that unfolded last summer at the oval!

You guys are still waiting for the mauka to beat India at the world cup, mauka mauka is still one, a CT fluke won't change almost 3 decades of phainty at the grandest stage of them all :shh

na Im pretty sure that the Mauka ad campaign will not re emerge next wc. Not after the anhilation at the oval. What a no mercy performance by Pakistan! If they had a film industry as strong as bollywood they could make a box office seller movie out of that victory with Mauka Mauka playing in the background when Amir is running in to bowl to Sharma, Kohli and Dhawan.

Mauka Muakaaaa

You wanna bet? Maukka will be back, the ad campaigns dont care about this stuff

Young guy, pumped up, excited, nothing wrong with the gesture. Indian cricketers are allowed to do it as well, but they won't do it as they come across more mature and educated.

Not a big deal if pak player wants to have fun.
Just it was inappropriate for protocol at Vagah Border ceremonies.

Again. Its flawed logic.

Tendulkar doing an act similar to what Hasan did, when Tendulkar was a professional cricketer, is a valid comparison.

A retired Tendulkar, someone who is not a professional cricketer anymore has nothing to do with Pakistan team. He does not owe anything to Pakistan or their cricket to wish them on a victory. As I said, I can ask why did Imran Khan not wish India when we won the 2011 WC.

Tendulkar as an Indian can wish the Indian hockey team as and when he wants.

If some Pakistani fan expects the world and some retired cricketer to congratulate them on a tournament victory, and these fans take notice when someone does not wish them, then there is something significantly wrong with that fan. No one owes Pakistan cricket anything, especially non-Pakistanis.

Just to add, and for the sake of fairness, this is as stupid as how the Sachin fans reacted at Sharapova. Though, there are 1.2 bn Indians, as opposed to 0.2bn Pakistanis, which means we have a few more vocal idiots on our side than yours.

Triggered!!!! LOL the jimmies have been truly rustled. This thread should be a sticky. So many great posts :)))

Mauka Mauka for several years.

The comedian taking the mickey out of Sarfraz Ahmed and the Pakistan team ahead of the CT final.

I guess the above was ok?

Lol you guys still remember Mauka mauka :)))

Yep we will remember how that song turned from Mauka to another hindi word starting with the letter T after what happened at the oval last year.

I bet the Indians are looking for a muaka to get revenge for what Hassan Ali just did

One has to be really naive to compare this stupidity with mauka mauka and whatever Sehwag said.

Mauka mauka was a campaign by Star Network. None of the cricketers were involved. Coming to the crap talk if we have the comedian, you guys have clowns(Miandad for one).

Current players should be away from these kind of stunts imo. I bet most Pakistanis who are finding it funny would have crying a river by now if it was done by someone like Kohli, Pandya etc.

You wanna bet? Maukka will be back, the ad campaigns dont care about this stuff

Yeah they seem to be quite shameless. The same ad campaigns that fund or make money out of BCCI dont really care about embarressing them in the long run

There is nothing embarrassing in a fluke win, we've won this trophy twice already, not a big deal for us. Btw you seem to be changing your goalposts regularly, if the mauka mauka stops you will claim victory because of CT fluke win if they don't stop you will call them shameless lol, you can't have it both ways

LOL what about Aane dou campaign???

What about all of the tweets about supporting Indian surgical strikes???

Ive said it earlier, Indians really dont know how to handle the heat when its dished back at them.I was there at Edgebaston when Pakistan were out of the game in the first 20 overs in the chase, most of our fans stayed to the end. Indians couldnt last 15 overs in a final and 90% of the fans deserted their team when things got tough at 5 down.

Grow a sense of sportsman's spirit!

"Taunt" :))

It wasn't a taunt for goodness sake. Immature? Sure. Joking around? Absolutely.

There's some fans here that don't see the obvious joke and playing around and will make a mountain out of a molehill.

Also to state if that was Gambhir doing it the reaction would be of anger etc is a forgetting what kinda person Gambhir is, and has shown to be.

Hasan Ali comes across more like Lingard/Alli from Utd and Spurs, respectively. he's never shown any rival animosity or said anything anti-India. So people need to chill out and moan about something else.

Fluke or no fluke....180 run victory in a cup final is anhilation, you have to wait to face Pakistan in a ICC cup final to avenge that defeat! it may never ever happen, you may never get the 'mauka'. Fact remains, Indian cricket arrogance was buried alive at the oval last year, it will haunt and traumatise indian players and fans forever!!

It's all about expectations, pak supporters were already expecting defeat given that pak is a low ranked team, the Indians were more shocked because upsets like these don't happen too often so they were taken by surprise, but at the end of the day it was still an upset, pakistanis should enjoy this victory because such victories aren't the norm for them but Indians are used to such victories thus we easily moved on from it.

In addition. India can act all tough and sporty if they beat England or Australia next year in the wc final at lords...But deep down they will know that this is not what victory should taste like, beating a true arch nemesis in the final is what matters, and you guys choked that the last time!

One has to be really naive to compare this stupidity with mauka mauka and whatever Sehwag said.

I'm not referring to Sehwag, rather the comments by the comedian at Wagah border a day before the CT final.

I guess it was ok for him to say what he did. In case you've forgotten here goes - Raju Srivastav at Wagah border one day before the Champions Trophy final "After losing to India, Sarfaraz who will be there to support you. I would like to advise Pakistani people that they swiftly buy new televisions because their TV sets will be broken tomorrow"

We don't have to wait for anything, lol at avenge, pakistani team is not a priority for India,Pakistan is a low ranked team, even kenya beat us at our home in the 90s, doesn't mean we'll go out waiting to avenge them lol :uakmal

Is that why Indians are already making predictions about the Asia Cup match?

LOL Expectations??? It was a major cup fina! The team that reached the final got there because they manhandled two giant teams in the process (England and South Africa). What Im saying is that Indian fans and really dont have the courage to face defeat, its not about if you are used to it or not. Thank God India are not losing regularly (mainly because everything is played in India these days or on India's conditions), otherwise your fans would be burning down stadiums every week!

Can you please name a few current cricketers of Indian team who were tweeting about surgical strikes? And lets not bring GG into this. He is as good as retired. I dont even remember when did he last play for India.

About aane do- Was it disrepect for any Pakistani player, Pakistani Army or Pakistan as a nation? All i could remember in nutshell is- Let them come. We’ll defeat them or something like that. Again that campaign was to create a hype about that series.

If you want us to grow a sportsman spirit about this stupid dancing at border then you also should take Sehwag and GG in good spirits.

As someone said above you can’t have it both ways.
