[VIDEO] New Zealand strongly placed on 286/3 at Stumps on Day 2 of the 2nd Test against Pakistan

Looks like Naseem has been told to shorten his run up, cut the pace and focus on line and length. Thanks Waqar for destroying another bowler.

The only way to deceive batsmen from identifying and despatching these pies is to come up to the stumps.

Listen to the comms now.

I agree that it would be more effective to stop the batsman from standing outside but it still wont work

New zealand openers looking very good and settled
They have done their homework on shaheen shah after already having done their homework on abbas before the last test

That we can never be certain about. Worth trying now that this is the XI we are fielding. Once a team has been submitted, we need to get the max out of every player.

There's no way this attack can take 20 wickets against a top team anywhere in the world.

Anyone here know team management? Someone tell Rizwan to come up when Abbas is bowling...

Haven't found a bowler since Akhtar who bowls 150kph consistently that too threatening spells at times
Shoaib would put everything into his bowling. Abbas has so many opportunities due to the break he gets to work on his fitness and strength to generate more pace. It seems our players are content with little they have. I don't see motivation to be number 1

Doesn't have to be Akhtar level but to consistently manage 144kph is not too much to expect. Where has this boys pace gone?

They don't have the physical attributes or passion to bowl out and out fast that is why there hasn't been any in the last 10 years or so.

Missing the days when NZ had openers like

Matthew Horne
Craig Spearman
Matthew Bell
Hamish Marshall
Tim McIntosh

Walking wickets all of them.

Who are these Lathams and Blundells going against the trend.

Our bowlers were better. These bowlers will make anyone into Lara and Tendulkar.

Poor start. Naseem needs to go short and aggressive. The pitch is flatter than the top of my desk, so there's no point in bowling line/lenght.

Sohail K would have caused more false shots then Abbas, even if he gave few run or two more in each over. I knew playing Abbas over him was a bad idea.

Neither of Latham or Blundell is actually class. Pretty much another reflection of our bowling reserves declining.

Where is the planning, then this management say hamain blame na karein yeh abhi cricket sikhe rahe hain.

This is a hard square and things can unravel very quickly here. RR control will be very difficult - only wickets can keep it in check as we saw yesterday. Even then PAK had periods of ~4.0 RPO.

Until we find a leader Pakistan cricket will suffer. We need Dhoni of Pakistan.

This messiah/savior mentality is actually what's caused the downfall of Pakistan cricket. We always seem to be in search of the next Imran or Wasim, when in fact, all you need is 11 competent cricketers who play as a TEAM.

Talking to media, Younis Khan keep mentioning he is working with this YOUNG Pakistan batting line up, who is young among Abid, Shaan, Azhar, Harris and Fawad ?

How often it has happened that not a single specialist batsman is playing eleven was not under 30, any stat guru here ?

Naseem's shortened run up is the cause for his recent decline. He needs to go back to his original longer runup wich he clocked 145kph normally with.

Why can’t this kid just do a full run up and just bowl fast. Who cares if you spray it. Waqars not there, just bowl like your old self.

This is like watching how the opposition used to bowl to misbah when shahid afridi was next into bat

In that many years we have only found 1 competent player that is Babar.

Is naseem still bowling filth? Can only follow written commentary not able to watch rn

Just shocking. It took Misbah and Waqar a year to undo Mickey's hard work.
