The controversial dismissal of KL Rahul has sparked significant debate over the accuracy of the Snicko technology. Critics argue that the sound detected might not be the bat hitting the ball but rather the bat hitting the pad.

But it looks clear out to me.

What Matthew Hayden said:

"His pad and bat are not together at that point in time as the ball passes.

"It's (bat hitting pad) after, in fact, the ball passes the edge. Does Snicko pick up the sound of the bat hitting the pad?

"We're assuming (Snicko) may be the outside edge of the bat but that may not be the case."

The angle clearly shown there was a gap between bat and pad.

It was a poor decision by 3rd umpire. You don't overtrun onfield decision based on that evidence.

Aussies were not able to get KL out and cheated their way again

how is this not out??? The bat is away from pads here... Ball near the bat.

check frame by frame.

You are looking at wrong angle. Check where the ultraege shows a spike. It was when ball passed the bat.

Clearly out, snicko wasn't even rolled through to the point where the bat hit the pad so the sound could only have been the ball hitting the edge.

The spike is in the very first frame after the ball passed the bat, that's exactly when you would expect a spike to show if there was an edge.

not enough to overturn the decision. Would have been fine if it was given out initially

Mitchell Starc said in the press conference after the day’s play:

"It got overturned obviously, but I thought it was regulation, the sound it made, the timing of it, I thought it was just a regulation wicket."

Yes Stracy , it was regulation catch Just like how you and your team other bowlers were used regulation sandpapers to gets wickets .

It's touch and go. Hard luck for him. Happens in Cricket with marginal calls
Happened a lot but on field umpire decision never overturn if there is no conclusive evidence .

Batsman are always get benifits of doubts . This is not a case here.

It was not otu. Bat hitting the back flap first and front flap. It has happened 2nd or 3rd time for India. Bat simulatneously touching the pad is given out just because bal is somewhere close to bat even though there is a gap.

If the broadcasters showed the skino-meter from this angle, the doubts would not have come in.
Why they could not do that??

Ball is about to pass the bat but the bat is not even close to the front pad.

Umpire's decision should be respected.

If not, what's the point of having an umpire?
Unless it is pro India, then BCCI = icc

Ipl impact and everything else.

I, too, acknowledge that umpire's decision is final .

Its the double standard that gets me.

Why there is no hotspot technology available for this Big series.

Only hotspot can tells us clear picture in theses short of bat pad dismissal.

KL Rahul was obviously annoyed afte rthe decision so much so he even had a word with onfield umpire after that.

Just watched Rahul's wicket.. Spikes comes after ball pass the bat, and look at the main umpire reaction, he was actually stunned to see his decision overturned..

It was present but from the wrong angle.
