New Delhi: In his first public address since Operation Sindoor and the four-day long military conflict with Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally on Thursday (May 22) in Rajasthan’s Bikaner and said that “not blood, but hot sindoor (vermillion) is flowing” in his veins. Modi’s speech came on Thursday (May 22) as India marked a month since the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed.

While the speech was his third since the attack, Modi made no mention of why the perpetrators of the attack are yet to be nabbed, or the status of the investigations into the attack.

While US President Donald Trump has since May 10 claimed that he mediated the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, that talks will take place between the two neighbours at a “neutral” site, and claimed to have brought the two countries back from “the brink of a nuclear war” by using trade as leverage, Modi made no mention of these claims.

Instead, without naming Trump, Modi simply said, “There will be no trade or talks with Pakistan, if there are talks it will only be about Pakistan occupied Kashmir. And if Pakistan keeps exporting terror it will be given a befitting reply.”

Modi’s speech mainly focused on alliterations around sindoor and how India had avenged the women whose sindoor had been snatched by terrorists backed by Pakistan.

Wearing a red turban, as he addressed a rally following the inauguration of development projects in Bikaner, Modi said, “Friends, in response to the attack on April 22, we destroyed the nine biggest terrorist hideouts in 22 minutes. The world and enemies of the country saw what happens when sindoor turns into gunpowder.”

Modi said that if India is attacked, there will be a “befitting reply and the time and method, terms and conditions will be decided by India’s armed forces.

“India will not be scared of threats of atom bombs. The masters of terror and the government that supports them will not be seen as separate entities. Pakistan’s game of state and non state actors will not work,” he said.

“Our delegations have gone to different parts of the world and Pakistan’s true face will be shown to the world. Pakistan can never win a direct war with India. Whenever a direct war happens Pakistan has to bite dust. That is why Pakistan has made terror a weapon in its fight against India. This has been going on for decades after Independence. But now Pakistan has forgotten that Ma Bharati’s Sena Modi is standing here. Modi’s head is cool but his blood is hot. Now in Modi’s veins not blood, but hot sindoor is flowing,” he added.

Repeating the symbolism of the women who lost their husbands in the Pahalgam terror attack where men were targeted in front of women and children, Modi said “those who tried to remove sindoor have been ground to dust”.

“Today, I want to tell the people of the country from the soil of Rajasthan that in every corner of the country the Tiranga Yatra that is being conducted, I want to tell the people that those who tried to remove sindoor have been ground to the dust. Those who spilled India’s blood, today every drop has been avenged. Those who used to think that India will stay silent, today they are hiding in their homes. Those who were proud of their weapons are now under a pile of rubble,” he said.

Modi also reiterated India’s stance on the Indus Waters Treaty. “Pakistan will not get India’s share of water. Playing with Indian blood will cost Pakistan. This is India’s resolve. And no force in the world can shake this resolve,” he said.

While Modi said that the Pahalgam terror attack had been avenged by Operation Sindoor, India’s retaliatory airstrikes on suspected terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7, he did not talk about the status of investigations into the terrorists who carried out the attack on April 22 in Pahalgam.

He said, “On April 22, terrorists entered our land and snatched the sindoor from our daughters. The bullets were fired in Pahalgam but it pierced the hearts of 140 crore Indians. After this every Indian united and decided that terrorists will be ground to dust. They will be punished beyond imagination.”

“Today with your blessings, due to the courage of our armed forces, we have been able to stand for this resolve. Our government gave a free hand to all three armed forces. The forces together created such a chakravyuh (web) that Pakistan was forced to kneel,” he said.

Earlier, addressing a rally in Bihar’s Madhubani two days after the attack, Modi had said that terrorists will be “punished beyond imagination” but did not attend the all-party meeting that was held the same day on the terror attack.

While a second all-party meeting was also held following Operation Sindoor, Modi remained absent. Two days after the ceasefire with Pakistan, he addressed the nation on May 12 without making any mention of Trump’s claims.

Modi’s speech comes as seven teams of multi party delegations have fanned out across the world including UNSC member states in a major diplomatic outreach. The Wire has reported that the delegations will talk about Pakistan’s role in supporting terror, objectives of Operation Sindoor and the Indus Waters Treaty that was held in abeyance after the Pahalgam terror attack.

India is well and truly imploding.

The world's upcoming SupaPuwa pistol-whipped by its bankrupt neighbour to the point Modi is itching to convert to Buddhism.

I was talking to one of my friends and I told him that If Rahul Gandhi is a joker , then Mr Modi is the circus.

Every time I think I have seen the worst of Modi , he proves me wrong.

Modi is proving every day that what kind of idiot and anti-Pakistan agenda-driven guy he is.. He and his party have nothing else but make such stuff up and cash in for their elections.

And the same feku asks Indians not to politicise such tragedies. What's this then? Not for the first time though. His entire political career is replete with political encashment of tragedies.

I always knew he would use this during the Bihar elections. :inti

Will win Bihar elections too, so clueless Indians have become that instead of asking this feku tough questions about his gross incompetence on handling issues that plague India, they shower him with votes, the only thing which keeps this illiterate thug strong.

Right?

You're a multi trillion dollar economy, soon catching up everyone bar the US and China. You should be positioning yourself as a global power after the US and China where you use your economy as leverage, you pour everything into R&D and manufacturing so instead of relying on the West you produce your own high tech weapons, your own planes, your own tanks, your own phones, your own computers, your own airplanes (commerically) on a mass scale - ie how China and before it the Russians did it.

Instead, let us examine:

- no manufacturing to speak off, their entire military relies on imports. In quick changing global relationships during a war their entire war machine could totally halt if such imports are cut off, leaving them in a disastrours situation. To add, China now is decades ahead of India due to its powerful defence industry. While India would be begging the West for weapons during a war, China would be producing them on a mass scale
-no international leverage, instead they are a laughing stock. They are an insulting hygiene meme on social media and no country has taken them seriously during the skirmish
-they should also be using their $$$$$ to buy out countries around them to either force through and resolve long standing issues or to ensure the countries no longer pose a threat. Eg how the Romans did it in the past or the Germans now dominate Europe through money. Pakistan, on a beggar's bowl, could easily have been dominated in such a way as the entire leadership is sold out. India could have got very good deal for Kashmir.

The entire country is thinking in such small terms when the global position after the US and China is there, right there to be taken. It would be like the US, after WW2, instead of taking up the UK's spot as a superpower was instead obsessed with fighting the Mexicans. I find it staggering that so much at stake, so much potential and they're obsessed about us, especially when we have the greediest leaders in charge in our history who could be bought tomorrow. But peace does not suit India's current fascist leaders or their frenzied, racist country. Its why their entire elections run around us, a bankrupt state.

pakistan and india are both ruled by top grade imbeciles, the only difference is pakistanis know they are, indians dont. i hope he wins the elections, this right wing hindutva bjp has done more to improve paks image in the world in about a week than pak has in its history.

What I genuinely can't understand is why some Pakistanis, like the OP are so obsessed with Modi. I can see why Indian posters might be critical of him, after all, he is their Prime Minister, and it's their democratic right. But what stake do Pakistanis have in him?

There are only a few possible explanations:

A) Modi is doing a great job for India, and some Pakistanis can’t digest that. They would prefer to see someone weaker, like Rahul Gandhi, leading India.
B) There’s a sense of jealousy, knowing their own country hasn’t produced a statesman of his stature.
C) They dislike his open display of Hindu identity and see it as a threat to their ideological worldview.
D) He represents strength and decisiveness, which makes him a perceived threat—politically or strategically.

I absolutely see no other reason why people from another country will get so much obsessed on others PM. Most Indians couldn’t care less about Shehbaz Sharif or Imran Khan. Personally, I don’t even know the names of Pakistan’s political parties, because they’re simply irrelevant to us.

But here, we constantly see Pakistani posters fixated on BJP and Modi. The irony is overwhelming.

Despite all the rona-dhona (I wanted to use a worst term) and mental gymnastics, the fact remains: India is a democracy, and Modi has been elected Prime Minister three times—twice with a full majority. If he contests again in 2029, he’ll win again. Infact Modi has never lost an election that he has contested so far both as CM of Gujarat and Prime minister. So he must be doing something right.

Calling millions of his voters as “fascists” or “racists” just makes you look ridiculous. If anything, it reflects poorly on those who can’t accept the outcomes of a democratic process. Time to grow up and move on.

Focus more on your home grown terrorism and why India needed to do an operation like Operation Sindoor rather than shooting the messenger.

You're speaking of democracy to a nation where not a single PM till date has completed his term.

Describing the Pahalgam terror attack as “an attack on Kashmiriyat and Insaniyat (humanity)“, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (June 6, 2025) said that India’s response, Operation Sindoor, had served a humiliating defeat to Pakistan.

The Prime Minister made these remarks after inaugurating three major rail infrastructure projects in Jammu and Kashmir: the Chenab bridge, the world’s highest railway arch bridge; the Anji bridge, India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge; and the Vande Bharat train service between Katra and Srinagar. This is the first time a passenger train will travel from the Jammu region into the Kashmir region, connecting the valley with the mainland of the country.

Referring to the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s response, Mr. Modi said, “Whenever Pakistan hears the name of Operation Sindoor, it will be reminded of its humiliating defeat. Pakistan’s military and terror networks never anticipated India’s bold move, and within minutes, the terror infrastructure they had built over decades was reduced to ruins.”

The PM named Pakistan in his speech and accused the neigbouring country of targeting tourism in Kashmir, which is “emerging as a significant driver of economic growth and connectivity”.

“Tourism not only generates jobs but also fosters unity among people. Pakistan stands against humanity, social harmony, and economic prosperity. On April 22, Pakistan attacked both Kashmiriyat and Insaniyat, intending to incite violence in India and cripple the earnings of hardworking Kashmiris,” Mr. Modi said.

He said this deliberate attack on tourists was meant to sabotage the flourishing tourism industry in J&K, which has witnessed record-high visitor numbers over the past few years. “Pakistan’s malicious intent directly impacted local workers, including horse riders, porters, guides, guest house owners, and shopkeepers, aiming to destroy their livelihoods,” he added.

The PM pledged that his government would protect the people of J&K, ensuring that terrorism would never succeed in halting the region’s progress.

Referring to a local resident who also fell to terrorist bullets while saving tourists in Pahalgam, Mr. Modi said, “Young Adil showed courage and stood against terrorists, but tragically lost his life while striving to support his family through honest labour.”

He also accused Pakistan, “shocked and frustrated” by Operation Sindoor, of targeting innocent civilians in Jammu, Poonch, and other districts. “Pakistan’s brutal attacks were witnessed by the world. It destroyed homes, bombed schools and hospitals, and shelled temples, mosques, and gurudwaras,” he said.

He praised the resilience of the people of J&K in this situation. “The courage of locals in facing Pakistan’s aggression was seen by every Indian,” he said, adding that over 2,000 families were affected by the shelling. “Households suffering severe damage will now receive ₹2 lakh, while partially damaged homes will be granted ₹1 lakh in additional assistance, beyond the support already provided earlier. Our government is committed to stand by affected families, ensuring continued relief and helping them rebuild their homes and lives,” the PM said.

On completing the Srinagar-Jammu rail line, Mr. Modi said, “We have always invoked Maa Bharati with deep reverence, saying ‘from Kashmir to Kanyakumari’. Today, this has become a reality even in our railway network.”

Terming it “a symbol of a new, empowered J&K”, the PM said these landmark projects would not only boost tourism but also benefit various sectors of the economy, creating new opportunities for businesses and industries.

“Kashmir’s apples will now reach major markets across India at lower costs, making trade more efficient. Dry fruits and Kashmir’s renowned Pashmina shawls, along with other traditional handicrafts, will now be easily transported to every corner of the country, strengthening the region’s artisanal industry,” he added.

This improved connectivity will also make travel more convenient for the people of J&K, allowing smoother movement across different parts of India, the PM said.

“J&K Chief Minister noted that even as a student in seventh or eighth grade, he had been anticipating the completion of this project. This project is the fulfilment of this long-awaited aspiration, and marks a historic moment for millions of people in Jammu and Kashmir, paving the way for enhanced connectivity and progress,” the PM said.

Mr. Abdullah, J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh were present on the occasion.

Describing the rail link connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country as a “historic accomplishment”, Mr. Abdullah said, “It will boost tourism, trade and bring comfort in the daily lives of people of J&K. With this railway line operational, that hardship will be alleviated to a great extent, offering affordable and reliable transportation.”

The CM said the region’s horticultural produce, especially apples, cherries, and other fruit, “will now find faster and more easy access to markets across the country and even globally”, adding that “this will provide a significant economic benefit to our growers and traders.”

He lauded Mr. Modi’s leadership. “The successful completion of this critical infrastructure project stands as a testament to the Centre’s commitment to the development of Jammu and Kashmir. Under PM Modi’s stewardship, yet another critical infrastructure project in Jammu & Kashmir has been completed,” Mr. Abdullah said.

He said that J&K was also witnessing rapid progress in other vital initiatives — the Jammu Ring Road, the Srinagar Ring Road, the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, the four-laning of the Jammu-Srinagar Highway, and the expansion of both the Jammu and Srinagar airports and the railway network.

“Today marks yet another momentous occasion. With your leadership and support, we look forward to J&K regaining its status as a full-fledged State,” he said.
