[VIDEO/PICTURES] Mayank Yadav, another speed gun from India a.k.a The New Delhi Express

Former Australia left-arm chinaman bowler Brad Hogg has questioned the prolonged absence of express pacer Mayank Yadav while speaking on his YouTube channel:

"He's [Mayank Yadav] is injury-prone because he’s young. I’m looking at his first-class stat, he’s only played one FC game. So, he hasn’t played too much of the longer format as well. I think it’s just sheer pace with Mayank Yadav. There are a couple of other bowlers that are very similar to him that bowl 145-150-plus but I think with young Indian bowlers coming through they bowl that pace. Sometimes, they are thinking right, just bowl sheer pace, if I can get an IPL contract, I’m happy. The end."

"Once they get that IPL contract, everything falls out of the window. They don’t learn how to play the longer form of the game. They don’t know how to bowl within themselves, they don’t have that endurance factor. They haven’t been trained for that endurance factor,"

After the Ishan Kishan saga, the priorities of some of our players are clear.

Show them the door.

where is this guy Mayank by the way? every time young excited pacers emerges in India and vanish in no time.

I mean. Ipl contract 1 mil to 2 mil aud for example for a 3 month contract.

Or test cricket. Get paid 100 k Max per year but I guess it opens door sto endorsements which can generate substantial revenue only if you are famous. But it takes a long time.

Big Blow To Lucknow Super Giants! Mayank Yadav To Miss First Half Of IPL 2025: Report

In what has come as a massive blow to the Lucknow Super Giants, with just over 10 days left for IPL 2025, star pacer Mayank Yadav is likely to miss the first half of the tournament with a back injury, according to a report in ESPNCricinfo.

According to the report, Mayank is recovering from a lumbar stress injury and has just begun bowling at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. He has been rehabilitating after getting injured after his India debut in the T20I series against Bangladesh five months ago.

BCCI has not set a particular date for Mayank’s return yet, but if he meets all the fitness parameters besides increasing his bowling workload, he can feature in the latter half of IPL 2025.

Mayank’s unavailability in the first half of IPL 2025 is a setback for Lucknow, who had retained him for Rs 11 crore ahead of the mega-auction.

It was a massive leap for Mayank, who had been purchased for Rs 20 lakh ahead of IPL 2024 as an uncapped pacer.

Mayank commanded such a massive salary due to his capability to bowl at dangerous speeds, crossing 150kph-plus, which earned him consecutive Player of the Match awards in his first two games in the IPL.

Encouraged by Mayank’s potential talent, the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee added him to the pool of pacers given fast-bowling contracts.

Mayank’s time in IPL last year was limited to just four games because of a lingering side strain in the last two games he played.

During rehabilitation, Mayank picked up a different injury, which delayed his comeback, but he played in the Bangladesh T20Is.

Mayank picked up another injury, which forced him to return to rehabilitation. According to the report, he has a stress-related injury in his lower back on the left-hand side.

Last month, former India pacer Zaheer Khan, who has taken over as Lucknow’s team director, said that the team was working with BCCI’s medical team to chart a roadmap for Mayank’s return.

“As much as we are keen on having him [play IPL 2025], we want him 150% fit, not just 100% fit, so we’ll do everything possible to get him there," Zaheer had said.

In Mayank’s absence, Lucknow will have to rely on Mitchell Marsh, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Arshin Kulkarni, Avesh Khan, Akash Deep, Akash Singh, Shamar Joseph, Prince Yadav and Mohsin Khan.

Useless player
@BouncerGuy

What a waste

Can’t bowl 4 over spells lmao

Pace dropped down to 140

Yea yea first game back I agree but still it’s pathetic.

If you can’t stay fit for 4 overs and he’ll even 10 overs then quit cricket is all I would say

That’s why test cricket is a must for all players

Test cricket builds endurance and muscle memory and toughness to bowl long spells.

He is so over-hyped that to even talk about him is a waste of time.. move on

Bowled 12 dot balls on his return. That is two over worth maiden. Okay return. He definitely hurries batsmen even at slower pace

Lol bowled at trundler speed. He ain't touching 150 ever again.
Another one from trundler factory.

I think he should concentrate on staying fit for the remaining games in the IPL. Don't over stress your body, just bowl within yourself. :afridi

When even Pakistani bowlers cant clock 150 kph , it's unfair to compare with an Indian bowler coming back from injury. Although it is true that Prasidh has clocked 150 kph in the IPL.
I think even that Zalmi team alone has faster bowlers than entire IPL.

I will ask you simple question.

What does this accomplish? India won the T20 World cup and Champion's Trophy.... and reached finals of ODI world cup.

What do you you achieve by having these FAST bowlers? What is the point of this speed?

Who says they have speed?

Bowling in tests at pace is what matters

India still has the second fastest attack in test cricket

But thread is about Mayank who sucks tbh

Timid guy
Timid attitude
Meek

You should ask these questions to those Indian fans who were doing bhangra over his speed when this thread began, comparing him to bowlers like Akhtar and Lee, who represented their countries in Test cricket. The desperation to get someone like Akhtar is still there in our fans. :inti

Lol young guys like Ubaid ali raza
Lol even younger guys like ali raza fawad ali Ubaid shah are comfortably faster than trundler brigade of india.
Fawad ali did clock 150.

149.75 . Check above. Basically not a single bowler 150 k + like I said.
