[VIDEO] Ramiz Raja’s commentary, post-match presentations, and analysis

Sarfraz ahmed hits the stumps at Maxwell's run out. Sarfraz is not even in the series.lol

Wow. Ramiz is not holding back. I can't believe I'm saying this but Ramiz is spot on in his analysis. Cannot afford to play both Malik and Hafeez. And he's picked a decent squad.

Good batting picks, one pacer short though.

I'm listening to BBC TMS's "CWC: 7 Days to Go" podcast and Ramiz is...brilliant.

He's analysing the teams around the world really well, breaking down their strengths and weaknesses, referring to the numbers etc.

Where is this Ramiz when he commentates ? Shows he can be an excellent pundit when he bothers to do his research.

Lol yesterday he presented another gem. "Great to see fans come to support, Pakistanis, Afgans and some foreigners.(referring to English fans)

I don’t believe you

Ramiz seems to make good observations about Pakistan cricket, plus his commentary is cringy af. Should work for PCB instead.

Well he’s part of the reason why Pakistan has reached these depths. This genius was the one who directed the changes in domestic cricket back in 2003, citing the need for more bowler friendly pitches. All it lead to was a generation of trundlers being produced and batsmen with no resilience or technique.

Pakistan's anger is a lot more when they lose to INdia. Actually Windies loss was even more of a hiding than this. That is when they should have showed their anger towards them 105 all out against such a lower ranked side. Even the warm up game was lost to Afghanistan. While India loss is very disappointing every loss has to be treated this way. That is when Pakistan will become a true professional unit. Also they have to shed the tag "unpredictable team" "Which pakistan will turn up". That is not something to be proud of.

An unpredictable tag isnt good when you are 1,2,3 in the ODI rankings.

When you are 7 or 8, unpredictable tag is good it means on your day you can beat anyone including top teams.

However, what Rameez is saying our team no longer even has that tag, as they have become predictably bad.

There is a difference between bowler friendly pitches and the unprepared trash that is in Pakistani domestic.

I dont think these pitches are what he would have wanted.

SPOT ON - Ramiz Raja analysis is spot on someone needs to break every single players knee caps so they dont ever play for pakistan again except amir, shadab and babar azam who should be part of the future. SHAMELESS PERFORMANCE SOO ANGRY. Pakistan cricket have hit rock bottom and may even be worse than afghanistan as a team as they did beat us too in warm up. That tells a story.

Till corruption is not got ridden off in Pakistan as a whole, the nation will never succeed, let alone it's national cricket team. We can talk and we can slate all we want, the elite of the country are destroying it.

Ramiz is a good analyst. He’s right about the excessive hand bandage, shows how soft our players are mentally and physically. Sarfraz should be asked to explain why he bowled first knowing they can’t chase. Absolute idiocy.

Then he should’ve made sure that the pitches were what he wanted. Ever since 2003 our domestic structure has chopped and changed and yet we stil expect consistency from the national side. These ex-players who are crying now are the ones who haven’t taken responsibility when given the opportunity. All they’re good for is talking from the sidelines, nothing else.

Ridiculous to think batting first was 1) the right decision 2) would have produced a different outcome.

These are professional cricketers. If you can't chase then you should just stay at home and not show up for Pakistan.

Its like asking you to climb Mt Everest without an oxygen mask : Ramiz

During the PSL Draft:

Ramiz Raja : Interesting this Jaahid Ali from Bangladesh...
Imran Ahmed Khan = No he is from Karachi

During the PSL Draft:

That was awkward and cringey.

He followed that up with: phir Jahid kyun likha hai?
Imran: That's how he spells his name.

You could sense the awkwardness in Imran's voice.

Time they moved on from the mediocrity of the PSL presentation and brought in new faces.

I actually like Ramiz's commentary. He is a colourful character and it's good to listen to him amidst the morbid and morose commentary of so many other commentators out there. There is a refreshing authenticity in his commentary; yes he goofs up sometimes, but that's part of his charm. He says whatever comes to his mind unlike so many diplomatic commentators who don't want to offend anyone's ego. He is not like the other machine-like commentators like Harsha Bhogle, Manjrekar or the intellectual-types like Bishop and Gavaskar or boring ones like Wasim and Athar Ali Khan. I like listening to him and Warne for their personal opinions, unfiltered and bold.

Yep.

He's our ATG commentator. A treat to listen to.

Haha I know he is not a great commentator. Its just a good change to listen to him, because everyone else is so politically correct and predictable, and sometimes boring. Ramiz is like an excited young boy who probably doesn't know much technical stuff but makes up with his bumbling enthusiasm.
Yep.

He's our ATG commentator. A treat to listen to.

If Ramiz was 90 years old, his mannerisms would have been endearing but when a younger person does that, it looks a bit odd.

"Stuff that is delivered between his 2 years is so important" : Rameez on Yasir

The commentary for this homecoming series has been absolutely awful.

I wish we had commentators who could do justice to our cricket matches, but I guess they're a reflection if our current team.

True listening to Bazid Khan (I think that's his name) is awful. Do not get me started on the host of the show who is cringeworthy, cheesy, and a cheesecake.

Having a microscope on Rameez and pointing out even minute things does not affect Rameezs reputation.

In fact, despite these mistakes, there's still nobody better from Oak in commentary.

He makes watching cricket entertaining and is not a borefest or monotonous. That's what matters. ALL other Pak commentators are boring and monotonous. Bazid has gained some confidence and vocabulary so that's positive.

So he announces Man of the series without announcing man of the match. Then he has the guts to tell the guest handing the award on why he hasn't handed man of the match award yet! :raja

I thought it was little rude to the sponsor. He announced jointly but didnt give time for handing over and photography and then got annoyed lol. Weird stuff

People really like to complain about Ramiz but the fact of the matter is that he has been the voice of Pakistani Cricket for the better part of almost 2 decades. Does Pakistan have any other commentator who is ready for the big leagues yet? Bazid Khan is decent but his monotone voice and cringy jokes make up for the odd sensible thing that he says on air. He almost never gets invited for overseas tours either. There are no other immediate replacements for Ramiz, so people should stop complaining and just be thankful that you at least have SOME representation on the international circuit.

Read somewhere that Urooj Mumtaz ex Pak women cricketer who has played 48 international matches came into commentary box today and Ramiz asked her whether she has played for Pakistan!

Ramiz should be doing more research regarding cricketers and his fellow or guest commies.

"was it technical issue or lack of intent" Ramiz to Mahmud on BD low total, in the post match ceremony.

Awful. Isn't she a former captain and current member of the PCB cricket committee as well?

Yep. Absolutely disgraceful moment. Unfortunately, there are no challengers to Ramiz's position in the comm box, which is why he is so bloody bad at his job and doesn't care one bit. The level of ignorance is appalling.

He's a shameless clown of the highest order.

Wasim does not commentate on the game. He bangs on about himself and his career

That is terrible and incredibly humiliating to Urooj who is also the Chief Selecotor for the women's team.
Ramiz embarrasing himself yet again. And i thought the Jahid episode was his worst for the season.

"was it technical issue or lack of intent" Ramiz to Mahmud on BD low total, in the post match ceremony.

Some very weird questions post-match. I think he just quickly gets a few questions ready instead of planning the questions.

Ramiz being quite 'open' with his comments on Azam in Urdu. :inti

"Bilkul laddoo ki tarhan hai chehra inn ka"

"Yeh cuddly hain, mein shayad inn ko godi mein utha doon"

Ramiz Raja on Azam Khan: “In ka favourite phal cheeku hai is liye cheeky singles bhi letey hain ye”.

Lol!

that was actually funny, not the typical Ramiz cringe

He also commented about the necklaces Azam Khan was wearing during the match debating whether they were gold, silver or white gold. Settling with white gold.
He got the opportunity to ask Azam during the post match interview.
Azam Khan reply: they are stainless steel!!🤣

Ramiz must have seen Azam khan growing up so its all friendly banter with him.

Amazing commentary.

Full of banter and entertainment this season.

Loving it. He's the only commentator from Pak worth listening to and provides entertainment.

Doesn't make it boring.

Exactly. This guy is the Michael Cole of Pakistan cricket

"Wiese led Zalmi to victory"

Calling Wahab Riaz a young captain....

Ramiz is pure entertainment. Best commie to come out of Pakistan and one of the best in the world. He has gotten overly comfortable in his job now, makes a lot of politically incorrect jokes nowadays :afridi

Spot on.

Ramiz may not be the best commentator but I rather listen to him than the over the top weird squeaky woman/boy commentator that also has an incredibly high pitch!

Yes, that is Urooj Mumtaz.

Super high pitched, really painful for the ears when she screams or is excited.

Rameez Raja is the ATG commentator from PAK.

Super fun to listen to. Provides entertainment.

100000x better than the cringey and boring Bazid Khan, Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram.

She needs to go honestly. Terrible commentary, the other women are fine bit this one...my goodness!

Arooj is ok honestly.. Id much rather listen to him than Rameez. The later is just delivering one cringe worthy comment after another these days. ''Wiese ka visa cancel hosacta hay, '' Dekhtay hain livingstone live kartay hain k nai'' ''Vince makes a mince of bowlers''. etc etc
Bazeed's urdu commmentary is entertaining.

Wiese ka VISA cancel ho sakta hai :)) :))

I would never listen to people like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis even Bazid they are so boring at least with Rameez he could crack a joke or two. Rameez is miles above any commentators I heard from Pakistan. Waqar/Wasim struggle in English at times and embarrass themseleves.

Rameez is exciting at least. He says some absolute nonsense but he's still miles ahead of the others who can't even speak English properly. Rameez makes gaffes but he has confidence in the way he speaks.

Meanwhile Waqar used to concentrate most on his accent and while Bazid and co know English, they have no confidence and so can't speak fluently.

Ramiz Raja deserves a lot more credit than he ever gets. We all have our own accents etc he obviously isn’t the smartest guys out there either but what he does very well is gets a good atmosphere going which becomes dull when the actions quite but he is pure entertainment when there is some good action going.

So many of our victories I remember Ramiz being on mic every single time in my life so far.

the guy has never missed a occasion in Pakistan cricket he deserves every single bit of credit our ramiz does.

But he is catching up with age, never has he got any statistic or name right.

No more Ramiz bashing. He is clearly head and shoulders above everyone else in Pakistan.

Its painful to hear Waqar, Zainab, Bazid, Wasim on commentary.
