[VIDEO] Rishabh Pant - The next big thing from India?

When does this torture end? How hard it is for the team management to understand this guy is simply not an LOI material? I'm sure Samson will warm the bench for the rest of the series just to accommodate this overhyped noob!

you saw how he played today?
mtlb kuch bhi.
The team realises that he played well and he will continue playing.

He has great potential, only thing he need to stop throwing bat everywhere and show some maturity.

The guy has talent, no doubts on that but his shot selection is poor. He is going through too much pressure right now , maybe a break is the right option for him but he really has him to stay as India's long-term wicket-keeper batsmen for a long time.

Finally shows his potential. An excellent 71 in 1st ODI and a blitzering 39 in 2nd one. He should still work on his shot selection though but he will learn with more experience.

He still needs to improve is shot selection. His technique is also not good when he hits big. His head falls to the side and he loses his balance. Until he addresses that part, he will always be inconsistent and questions will be raised about is spot in the team.

Impressive thing yesterday was unlike Iyer the spinner killer he was able to pick on the best West Indian fast bowler Cottrell and smashed him around with pure power.

Very impressive hitting

His talent was never under any doubt. Just needs to learn to spend time out there

West Indies bashing at home doesn't mean anything.

He has 100 in his debut series both in England and Australia in tests. But you already know that, dont you? Nothing means anything when you dont want to

He has been very successful with the same technique in domestics for a long time. This is like saying Bumrah or Smith have unorthodox techniques so they wont be successful. This very technique is what provides him power to hit those huge sixes, despite his small frame. His head and body goes aside because he puts more power through his legs and glutes to get under the ball

I kindof agree though. There is nothing to gain fromsmashing low ranked teams like West Indies, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc

You are valued if you can take on the Starts, Cummins, Broad etc which Pant has actually already done and in test cricket so the point stands his talent is not under any doubt

He is so predictable. If your only form of playing is attack, attack and attack the opposition will bowl accordingly.

Happy Birthday to Rishabh Pant.

Arguably the most ridiculed and hated Indian batting talent.

But there are things to like about this guy and when he gets going he is THE most explosive hitter in Indian cricket.

Wishing him well.

Let's go Panty!

Really glad with the mature innings he has playd so far in IPL. Has contributed in all 4 games and arguably played 3 match winning innings. In the first 3 games he came in difficult situations and formed great partnerships. First 2 match winning ones

Also important to note, while samson played 2 great innings, both were on Sarjah pitches. He failed on the pitches Pant played so maturity on. Meanwhile when Pant moved to Sarjah pitches he also scored at 223 strike rate. People should keep this in mind while comparing both

The first few pages of this thread.

IPL hack, tullaybaaz, Indian Umar Akmal, Afridi minus bowling talent and hair...

When I say that we have the most cricket ignorant fans in the world, I am not exaggerating.

You know the word Tullaybaaz, never heard it in Indian cricket ever. I guess Imran used it first to describe Afridi, and since then pakistani posters use it to describe any power hitter they dont like.

Another thread to find people who can't identify a good batter when they see him/her.

This bloke is a superstar.

However, I did say the same thing the last time he came down under, but then he fell away only to be replaced by Saha. Hope he carries on this time - at 23, he has age on his side!
