He had license to attack today.Give him a run as opener. Give him licence to attack and hit big as an opener like he does in PSL. If he fails then move on. He plays a different position every match. We did it for Saim, I do not know why we can’t do it for the guy who was head and shoulders then best batsman in PSL and champions cup. No idea why Farhan opened today, was a waste. I don’t mind Farhan but in no way was he anywhere near the top performers in PSL, or even champions cup.
This way we are just giving him more games pointlessly with him inevitably failing. You could actually play him as opener and figure out if he’s international standard in a shorter amount of games.
So did rizwanHe had license to attack today.
Give him a Zimbabwe attack. Then watch him performGive him a run as opener. Give him licence to attack and hit big as an opener like he does in PSL. If he fails then move on. He might be rubbish. But we have few alternatives if we are committed to finding an aggressive opener. There are hardly any aggressive players that dominate in PSL and domestic.Give him a Zimbabwe attack. Then watch him perform
He was playing swords today, swinging on every deliveryThe way Usman was playing his shots trust me its more like a miracle that he is playing international cricket.
He is a limited player, but has good temperament. The way Usman was playing his shots trust me its more like a miracle that he is playing international cricket.
and non of them connected... lol rubbish player. He was playing swords today, swinging on every delivery
He should be batting in the top 3
How does an inferior player like Farhan get to open?
Give him a go in his best position, then we'll see if he is good enough or not
Today, everyone played badly
Depends on what you want in your teamIs he equal or near enough to as good as Babar?
No, he is not a top order batter.
Everyone in Pakistan has habit of writing off players even before they have had enough chances to develop. Everyone seems to have a crystal ball or that “eye for talent” and blatant disregard for process and proven data-backed performance criteria. He might be rubbish. But we have few alternatives if we are committed to finding an aggressive opener. There are hardly any aggressive players that dominate in PSL and domestic.
We’ve tried Saim, who isn’t ready. We could try fakhar again who maybe we should when he returns but he is getting older and did have 36 games as an opener already and wasn’t amazing.
The rest in don’t think will be stronger than a Rizwan-Babar partnership. That will at least give platform to build on and is consistent. You’ll just have more wickets down at a similar run rate. I don’t see how Farhan or Haseebullah, Abdullah etc will be an upgrade on Rizwan-Babar. I don’t know what’s the point of breaking them up then. At least go with the option that if it actually pulls off, will give us a potential improvement.
Usman whether we like it or not is the best performing playing in pak domestic limited overs right now. Thus as your best player in domestic, we have to try to give him everything to succeed, preferable position, settled batting position.
Case quite simple.. this guy Usman is just a fraud cant play any proper cricketing shot who needs to be kicked out from the team ASAP.Pakistan cricket fans are polarised atm, Usman is an important case for this. Let's see which side he vindicates
Yes but the Socrates of PP advocate on every other thread that ideology of team needs Usman Khan type playersCase quite simple.. this guy Usman is just a fraud cant play any proper cricketing shot who needs to be kicked out from the team ASAP.
True. very true.Case quite simple.. this guy Usman is just a fraud cant play any proper cricketing shot who needs to be kicked out from the team ASAP.
Stop this riz babar mantra when you dont have any logic or excuse to defend a player. Wish usman good luck but he doesnt inspire any confidence atn@Major
Wanna hear a fun fact.
Today Babar + Rizwan = 3 runs of 5 balls collectively
Usman Khan = 4 runs of 5 balls![]()
He has already played 11 match and just scored 121 runs with average of 13.He will come good in t20s, these type of players usually need support and confidence from captain, something like what Surya did with samson.
And the shots he played were ugly too. He never looked in control in those 11 games. He has already played 11 match and just scored 121 runs with average of 13.
His best bet is to continue playing leagues around the world and make a living. There was a reason why he couldn't make it to Pakistan as a young batter and had to settle for playing in the UAE. Just not cut it for quality International Cricket. As I already said usman khan is not suitable for International cricket
Maybe be can perform in one T20 out of Ten but that is not good enough
He is batting like Tailenders.
This. Saim also averaged low in T20Is. But everyone knew after seeing him play a few balls that he is quality. Soon after in another format he took apart the renowned Australian world cup winning attack in Adelaide. And the shots he played were ugly too. He never looked in control in those 11 games.
With all due respect, By this logic no one is.His best bet is to continue playing leagues around the world and make a living. There was a reason why he couldn't make it to Pakistan as a young batter and had to settle for playing in the UAE. Just not cut it for quality International Cricket.
Tbh mate. I just wanted to tease major for his 1986 miandad remark. Now whether I was their in 1986 or not? That'll remain a PP mystery. What a logic
Abbas afridi 20(10)* with 2 four and one six
By your logic he is better batsman than every Pakistan players![]()
Usman Khan top scored in psl with the highest average and sr.Wouldn't go by anyones judgement these same armchair coaches had written off saim too and after started doing bhangra when he won pakistan the Australia series
You sure about that bud? This guy alongwith thar farhan are worse than asif ali and ifthikar chacha and even the latter 2 were bad at intl.
Must be a rough day for youFluke innings. He has mistimed 90% of the deliveries and looks so ungainly. This is no different to a tailender scoring some lucky runs every now and then.
He is not good enough for international cricket. We saw that at the World Cup as well. It is not like he is playing on debut.
Exactly against any decent enough intl pace bowler he looks poor. Not convinced only when part timers came on he pounced. Against proper bowlers he struggled and when Spencer was brought back he didn't had a clue what was happening
This is the reason why I want him in the top 3He should be batting in the top 3
How does an inferior player like Farhan get to open?

Yeah literally another danish kaneria, bang average crickter playing victim card. What a rubbish player. A total failure in international cricket. If he is dropped after this, he will go back to the UAE and play victim.
People who support him must be questioned.
Are you talking about the fans who were not happy with Afridi's batting average....and never cared about his S/R?Pakistan cricket fans are as mediocre as their white ball batting approach
This is the most intelligent comment I’ve heard on this topic. Usman Khan would be an ideal no3 in those conditionsThe next t20 world cup is in India, so pitches will mostly be flat.
Players like him can succeed there, instead of using Babar Rizwan, why not have him play at number 3 or even open if Saim fails.
If you want a develop a player to play in SENA conditions then you have to pick some highly talented batter from U19 and then keep playing him for two years in these conditions , he might just develop his game for these pitches.
Sharjeel isn't coming so about time people stop mentioning him.Not a great. Not a huge talent.
Still one of Pakistan’s only hopes in white ball cricket. His competition is Farhan, Irfan Khan, Abdullah Shafique, Salman Agha, RIZWAN.
All of these are way inferior when it comes to pure white ball batting and making an impact.
Yes, he sucked vs. the short ball. But Farhan and RIZWAN are no talents either, they are even worse.
So, we have to give chances to tullaybaaz ie hitters and ONLY hitters in T20s.
M Haris
Usman
Saim Ayub
Fakhar Zaman
Sharjeel
Find another hitting talent
Find another hitting talent
This should be T20 and ODI team. Only Babar makes the team that too in ODIs as an accumulator. Max 2 accumulators in ODIs.
None in T20s.
How can anyone even advocate for sharjeel in odis. I can understand in t20s.Sharjeel isn't coming so about time people stop mentioning him.
