He was impressive today.
I thought Moeen would take him to the cleaners. But, he kept his cool.

Disagree when you say that Babar wasn’t being smart here. I would have said the same thing even if we lost. Babar had one of two options - bowl all his main bowlers at crucial times in the hope that they can get the wickets and dry up the runs, leaving enough for the debutant to defend in the last over, or bring on his debutant at the crucial moment potentially risking a Husnain-type moment, where the debutant gives away 20-25 runs and then your main bowlers have no chance to defend what’s left.
Babar made the smart choice by keeping his match-winning bowlers on at those key moments. Had he not done so, this match may have been over well before the 20th over, with a substantial loss.
Speaking about his performance

While I am thrilled for Aamer Jamal, its too early to say anything about him.
Next match, he can go for 0/50 and get out for a duck and everyone will start writing them off.
Many players have had good debuts and then faded away - particularly when opposition figures them out.
What we do owe him is a stretch of games somewhere in the next year or thereabouts, in order to see where he is at international stage.

He's over 30 years old. Most of the team are in their 30s. We need to find young players so they can play a decade like Shadab, Naseem.
Only Iftikhar,Asif Ali and Shan are over 30 in this squad.
Jamal is 26.
He is not 26.

He looks more like 36 than 26 bro.
Prove it that he ain't.

I understand what you are saying, but his biggest asset for me is his temperament. He seems very focused and confident. I don't see him as an outstanding bowler or batsman, but someone who can do both to a decent level, and probably perform at a much higher level in pressure games than many players with more apparent talent.
Just look at his face, he is over 30. Point being why are we investing in players at 30 when they would only have a few years left and why are we not age testing everyone coming into the system?
Age test the entire squad.
Do other teams age test ?
They record the age accurately at birth. India, Afghanistan and West Indies do not.
So PCB should take matters into their own hands and test themselves.
He is more your 5th bowling option than your third.Nervy start for him. 1st over and bowled some extras, not a confidence builder TBH. Hope he gets into his grove soon.
its not good enough. The margin of error is upto 5 years per player.Apparently he played for Pakistan U19.
Don’t know the exact details of how ICC measure the age but heard it’s good enough so there’s just a potential error margin of 1-2 years only, which of course at U19 can make all the difference (see the Indian opening batsman Manjot Kalra who basically guided India to victory during the 2018 U19 WC) but point is even if Aamer Jamal did underplay his real age there’s no way there’s a full decade gap.
More anecdotally, if he was 36 he wouldn’t have that pace either.
For me, he should not have been playing. Wasim or Hassan were better choices instead of putting Aamer jamal (on debut) in front of Australians. He is more your 5th bowling option than your third.

There’s nothing there to suggest he’ll be a regular in this test side right now.Yes, it was a good plan, but he still didn't bowl up to our expectations. He is the most expensive bowler of Day 1, with an economy rate of 5.25.
He was bowling high 140s in the PSL. I wonder what happened to his pace.I was expecting him to be consistent between 137-142k but he was short on pace.
faheem is a better option compare to this lad in both batting and bowling.Only 1 of jamal or Fahim should play.
In Australia. Mohammad Asif - 6/41
