[VIDEOS] Afghanistan fans fight with Pakistan fans at World Cup 2019

Appalling, some of these Afghans could start a fight in an empty room. Ban the culprits from attending any further World Cup matches.
 
Jesus these Afghans are truly third class, fans and the team both are such a joke.... especially their captain. Well as they say, empty vessels make more noise.
 
I have no words for this cowardly act.

They were beating an old man.

Punish these minnows.
 
There was some trouble also in the stands with a few fans thrwn out by security.

Really stupid behaviour from these individuals and spoiling a great day for those who are there to watch a good game of cricket.
 
According to a journo, some fans without tickets were jumping over the boundary wall to get into the ground.

Pakistan media personnel also abused.
 
Heard a Pakistani journalist was also beaten by Afghans?

Ironically, despite all the predicted trouble in games between the two sides, India/Pakistan games are usually played in a relatively friendly atmosphere. I think Afghans have to take responsibility for their own behaviour.

Exactly. There was so much police at the India v Pakistan match. But not needed.

These fans should be identified and given long jail terms. Deportation is justified too.
 
They seriously bashed that Pak supporter in green , hope he is fine!

As i stated there is rivalry between afg and pak fans esp from Afg side. If at all they do win today, will create ruckus outside the ground :facepalm:

Pakistan fans won't go to these games to fight, they would have been unprepared for a war. Afghans on the other hand, look like they have been sent with a mission, probably by their govt if you look at the statments their officials have been giving prior to the match.

They just need to head back home for war.
 
The behaviour is disgusting by the Afghan fans, no point blaming India as there was no issue during India v pak match. There is real hostility between the 2 nations more so on the Afghan side

These Afghan fans are idiots. As we were driving to the ground they were showing middle finger to every Pakistani supporter. Pakistani fans however they are never really are rude like that towards anyone even Indians. These Afghans are absolutely pathetic. Don't deserve to be in a tournament like this on such behaviours alone..

What else do we expect from a nation in a state of war for many years they need proper training before they are allowed in public place with normal humans. I am never comfortable with these Afghan refugees around as most of them are far from civilized, and if they are in a group, they tend to lose their mind and are dangerous.
 
Wonder what the reaction from our fellow liberals would be if a frw Pakistanis outnumbered an afghan and beat him.

But look at the crowd. Pakistanis are there with their families, the last thing they want is any sort of physical confrontation.
 
The title implies that Pakistani fans were equally (if not more as their name comes first) responsible for the ruckus, when all videos show Afghanis misbehaving. Should change the title to "Afghanistan fans assault Pakistani fans during World Cup game at Headingley"

Indian media agency ANI is gloating showing these videos with Paksitani media person and other fans getting beaten.
Scuffle broke out when an unauthorized plane flew over the stadium carrying anti-Pakistan sign. Some Afghans without tickets barged into the stadium and attacked Pakistan on their way out. Definitely planned and executed with Indian hand.
 
Vermin, that's why I hope Afg is battered every single game. Joke of a nation from everything to its people. Never met a decent person from there in my life. Arrogant beyond belief

Couldn’t fight the armies occupying their nation but come here as Rambo . If they break the law , take their benefits & send them back.

Although it’s only a few Afghans not all at the ground . Most likely those who are now in romance with India .
 
Shame that our supporters didnt come to his aid. The pakistani asked them to not say anti pakistani slogans and he was beaten by 20 plus people not even single pak fan came to his aid
I will go help my pak brother even if i get beaten.

You have no proof what so ever that India organised it! The Afghans have always had a beef with Pakistan i remember 20 yrs ago protests outside the Pakistani embassy. This is something that has been pre India becoming chummy chummy with Afghanistan
 
Some comments in this thread are extremely pathetic to say the least.

Blaming the whole nation and calling them all sorts of bad names isn't justified.

Whoever caused these fights need to be thrown in jail and dealt with. However blaming the entire nation is wrong way to go. Stereotyping always results in things getting worse as history has proven.
 
Sickening stuff, why not just enjoy the match and atmosphere? ICC needs to blacklist these culprits and impose life ban from attending global cricket tournaments.
 
I have been to matches in London/Birmingham between Pakistan/India and haven't seen these types of scenes. I remember sitting in an Indian stand with a Pakistani flag and shaking hand with Virat and Ishant.

I also had spoken to some afghanis in London as well as Pakistan and always felt that they are dangerous. They are venomous. They loose their mind on nothing :D ... Bas maara maari karni hoti hai inhe...IDIOTs

It takes two to tangle. To suggest only Afghan fans are causing the trouble is quite laughable specially considering the reputation of British Pakistan's. There had to be some sort of provocation for this to get out of hand.

This is unethical, disgusting and inappropriate behaviour from fans - who have shamed the sport. The World Cup is a family event - they should be banned and punished for assault, they have also given their country a bad reputation. I have no respect or time for this. I expect a statement from ICC, this is cricket not WWE
 
It would be in ICC's interest to identify the culprits and ensure they get the harshest punishment otherwise it could affect ticket sales for future games if punters don't feel safe when they are there with families etc.

Thank You, It is clear, some people do have an agenda. Please don't let this site become cricinfo. They have been abhorrent especially after being taken over by ESPN. I have been following that website for almost 20 years and now they only publish extremely Pro-India stuff.

There's been scuffles, bottle-throwing incidents and some Afghan fans have climbed walls to get into the stadium without tickets.

The authorities that be likely don't understand it at the level we do and to be fair most matches so far have been played with a carnival atmosphere. However, that's no excuse for poor security and fan behaviour.

Of course they did. Otherwise why wouldn't they have behaved in such a disgusting manner in games against other nations? Afghan fans have enjoyed supporting their team in a good spirit throughout the world cup, but this game we can see there is a different agenda on view.
 
My friend went to the stadium I can see videos of Our supporters chanting Pak Force Zindabad front of Afghans. I’m guessing that riled them up

I don’t think anyone is defending the behaviour of the thugs in the videos. Just like none of us defended the behaviour of small sections of our fans in 2001.

I'm guessing they were actually chanting Pakistan Zindabad, but would happily retract that if your friend has some video footage to back up his claims.
 
More fighting on the Western Terrace and more fans thrown out of the ground by security.

I've got friends sat there and they are saying Afghanistan fans didn't like the fact that Pakistani fans were abusing Afghanistan players and started fighting with them.
