[VIDEOS] Afghanistan fans fight with Pakistan fans at World Cup 2019

Why are they throwing punches at Pakistan fans! What wrong did they do? They should be punching their own players lol.

You seriously cannot blame UK security for afghani behavior. This have never happened before. Pakistan have played against them in UAE as well.

I'm not blaming anyone, as you said these things aren't expected at a cricket game so it's a bit harsh to blame it on the cops as well.

I was at the match really shocked by the Afghan supporters.

I never knew there was so much hatred against pakistanis, today i know.. The hell with Afghanistan..

I cant believe some of u guys are saying u dint expect this from afghan fans. U have seen the amount of hate so what more did u expect. They came in gangs to fight. Are u telling me there wasnt enough pakistan fans to negate the violence that was coming from them. IM a pakistani pakhtoon and i stand with pakistan.

If Pakistan fans had fought back, you can guarantee there would probably be repercussions to staging future Pakistan games in the UK. Even now I am expecting the press tomorrow to portray it as both sets of fans causing trouble even though it is clearly the Afghans who have come looking for a fight.

If you know anything about football hooliganism you would know it is not about the numbers. A small football gang of organised thugs can cause far more damage than ten times the number of casual fans from the opposition.

On twitter and most internet forum young Afghans hold some of the most racist views, you'd think they were part of the KKK if you read some of the stuff.

People on PP have pointed this out for years only to be told to shut up under some misguided sense of brotherhood.

Most of Afghan and baloch accounts are actually made by Indians.

Well today i witnessed them, they are no brothers of mine, sorry. If they have such negative views on pak send those refugees back and shut the border.

I don't understand why some Indians are abusing gulbadin. He's the reason afg lost the match how's that related to India??

It will be Afghan supporters sending him the death threat for bowling the over which lost them the match.

I don't want that. Yes security should be improved but I don't want Pakistanis to gather like tribal animals and pick on old afghanis. I believe we are better then this. No need to copy their behaviour and concentrate on better things.

They won't pick on old timers. Only those chest thumping termites who are looking for a fight although it's better to avoid such spectacles. You have to admit there was a massive security lapse today and the situation could have been worse by manifolds. I'm certain there will be massive brawls next time- Afghans only have themselves to blame. All I have to say to lousy misersble afghans is that jealousy is a terrible thing! they really ought to stop being angry at Pakistanis for their p1ss poor living conditions in the UK.

Afghani morons fight with each other when they play in Afhanistan. There have been many cases where people from opposing teams have been injured seriously. They are very immature and stupid.Don't forget Afghans don't have a sporting history.Pakistanis taught them cricket. They should enevr have been in WC.One of Zimbabwe,Ireland or Scoltand deserve to be in the WC.Afghans will end up with zero points which is fair .

Their games with India and BD, heck every other stuff went well.

They planned it, they should come next time too. They will get a smack.

I don’t think after what happened they will be invited in India to participate in 2023 WC. This is seriously shocking.

It's sad to see and read our fellow posters on here posting stuff like "next time we'll retaliate". Let's not stoop to their levels please.

This isn't MMA or WWE. Stick to cricket and avoid anything that'll put Pakistan/England, or whichever team you support, to shame and muddy our names.

Noone wants that. But now people have learnt their lessons and won;t be smacked about with their families and kids in tow.

The Afghans I know are real, they hold really racist views against Pakistanis/Brown people. A lot of them push the same nationalist historical narrative.

One thing is to learn from today, it's another using the t!t-for-tat tactic.

Try avoid such confrontations and protect your families. If the issues gets to a point where it involved the family then do what you have to. That's the point really.

Afghanistan fans are mainly jobless 17-29 year olds who have migrated from Afghanistan. I doubt they actually paid for their tickets.

Where was this aggressive behaviour when they were playing India? Clearly these youngsters have grown up with a severe hatred for Pakistan. ICC needs to really take a look at this because another Afghanistan v Pakistan match in England could see severe casualties.

Can the PCB make a stand and make formal complaint to ICC/ECB? (ICC event and ECB ground).
Let's say this happened against India, BCCI would have the balls to tell ICC and authorities to take severe action otherwise find empty grounds for future matches..... Could PCB not mKe a threat of this kind?

Yes I know BCCI has more power but still something has to be said at board level.. Yes/No?

Disgusted.

Won’t make personal remarks but glad Pakistan did the talking on the pitch.

ICC should analyse these videos and punish the Afghan Cricket board.

I don’t understand why and how this hatred has developed - nothing like that was evident on the pitch between players.

Afghan immigrants trying to show the world they are Hilaku khan's army, but in reality they ran away from their own country in fear of terrorists.

Anyone notice the red topis? and then the aeroplane with its banner? somebody clearly came to stoke up things..these guys clearly have an agenda and are being supported..

I don't think PCB need to interfere here. We already have poor cricketing relationships with neighbors, no need to further escalate. ICC is already investigating these incidents & are in contact with local authorities. Let them handle the situation first.

This. People saying they weren't prepared nonsense they clearly knew what they were capable off.

Most people came with their families. If they get involved, they risk their family getting injured. These guys are mainly attacking some old uncles. Say someone did want to help, people are sitting in rows, you'd have to jump over people to get to them.

Oh yeah. There was an infamous England-Pakistan ODI at Edgbaston in 1987 where a fan had their throat slashed and I think even a pig's head was thrown into the Pakistan end.

And the end of nearly every 2001 Natwest Series match involving Pakistan was bedlam.

was this where a supposed Pak fan threw a beer can at Michael Bevan of Aus?

Disgusting behavior from Afghan fans. Having said that, really sad to see some posters accusing India for fomenting this without any evidence. India has strategic interests in Afghanistan just like Pakistan do, that doesn't mean the Indian government will sponsor a bunch of hooligans to beat up people in a stadium.

The plane banner thing has been discussed earlier in the thread, but it shows it was premeditated and they were expecting it to all kick off and were at the ready.

It just doesn't sit well with me at all.

I was their with my family in North east stand upper. The Afghan guys sitting around us were generally agressive and intimadating towards pakistani fans. One of afghan guy was shouting abuse at shaheen shah afridi that he is a "Punjabi" not Afridi. In the end they started throwing lucuzade to pakistani supporters sitting downstaris and threw empty bottles at pakistani fans as well. I had to ran out of stadium as soon as possible as I was genuinlly worried about my daughters safety.

God gifted this match to us because of this behavior :))

No but seriously this is not acceptable.

You are at a cricket match not at a wrestling or an UFC match where you can fight.

Disappointing stuff.

We live in an age of social media and "fake news". This things you're reading are to be expected now, unfortunately. Our fans will blame others more so than the culprits, and in this case the culprits being no-one other than Afghani supporters.

I'll once again say not to fall for that talk and try ignoring them.

I've been in a car/travelling all day, in this scorching heat so apologies for my weird grammatical errors today :))

Lol.. No need to apologize, the human brain is capable of correcting errors even unconsciously. I didn't even recognize that.. 😁

Afghans don't have a good reputation in the UK and after today's events, you can obviously see why. Two notable experiences I have had with Afghans:

First was around 5-6 years ago, when I was at uni, where my flatmates and I decided to check out this Afghan restaurant. The food was good and the owner looked after us very well, however we never decided to go back after a disturbing revelation he made during our meal. He boasted about running a kid over in Kabul and getting away with it.

Second was more recent (around 18 months ago), I was out in Soho for my friend's birthday, just casually having a cig outside. While me and one of my Indian friends were outside, this random drunk Afghan guy overheard our conversation and clocked I was Pakistani. Didn't take long before he decided to vent out his hatred: "We Afghans hate you Pakistanis, Indians are true brothers" in his freshy Afghan accent. At this point my Indian friend nearly lost it and I had to calm him down. Bouncer saw what was going on and kicked out the drunk Afghan from the bar.

We shouldn't generalise but unfortunately it seems the vast majority have this mindset because nearly all of them here are immigrants, rather than born here.

All I know is that they don’t pay match subs after a cricket match. And then cry when they are not picked because enough is enough :)) :))

If they were not keen on paying for tickets to watch today's game (when some of them they were trying to force their way in), there's no chance they will pay for match subs.

What in the blue hell

What a bunch of morons.

Of course one should not generalise. There are all kind of people in every country. But being tribal people they are more xenophobic and never hesitate to show their hatred against the people of “other tribes”. There are also many people in Pakistan who passionately hate Afghans and other neighbours, just the reasons are different.

It is actually very pleasing to see Afghanistan fans feeling so angry after this loss. I would just keep laughing on their faces to upset them even more!:))):))):))) Even the Indian's are abusing them on social media.

This is just disgusting. Two Islamic neighbours fighting like this is absolutely sickening to see.

It seems quite clearly to be the fault of the Afghan fans, there is almost no doubt about this.

Professional Sport is not for Afghanistan at all. They should play lesser games like hide and seek, draughts, ludo, monopoly, tiddlywinks and scrabble. They could be successful at that.

Sure there are some very smart and religous Afghans but sorry to say most are clueless when it comes to 'their faith' . Such people will pray salat/namaz and then go shoot their cousin dead, abuse women or hit the herion pipe. Religion is cultural for many of them.

People on PP have pointed this out for years only to be told to shut up under some misguided sense of brotherhood.

Yea really but what can you do about pashtun/ muslim brotherhood types

Also it’s funny that these days them and India have good relations. Afghans just do that these days due to ulterior motive but in reality have no positive view of them. Derisively call them daal khor

Was at the ground didn’t realise afghans had that much hatred for pak.

Security didnt have a clue. They took down Mohammed Nabi!!!

Well done to the security for saving that Afghan fan from getting KO'ed by Wahab...

Security did well on a serious note considering the disasters we have seen at football matches this year...

Another embarrassing picture to add to the collection...

Whilst walking around the stadium my wife got this pic of some Afghani fans trying to jump the wall into the stadium, before being chased away by a security personnel threatening to arrest them...

Next time Pakistan face Afghan (which probably will be after a few years) they won't be as surprised and teach some manners to these thugs.

Good thing the Pak fans didn't react as many were with their families too, could've gotten really bad, really fast. Maybe they should apply the no bachelors entrance rule in a family gathering like they do back home.

Almost like a sunny deol Movie on Kashmir lol, dont bring us in here and Muslims fight Muslims around the world , religion has nothing on this.

No it isnt. Brush up your international relations knowledge. Poison is being injected into Afghans against Pakistan by Afghan state propaganda which has direct relation to Indian influence. They need an enemy to put the blame of all their failings on. And they have presented Pakistan as a boogy man.

And muslims fighting muslims anywhere is a shame. Thats what i meant. This is why Islam was against the concept of nationalism in the muslim ummah. But thats a discussion for another day.

As you can see the Afghans who are fighting are mostly men with no women or children with them. They have kept their women at home and come out looking for fights.

Madplayer. That was on point..
The Afghan fans were quite disrespectful TBH.

All us in the south stand kept shouting hashmat and he was just not even responding to our salam.

I don't know what is wrong with these brothers..seriously some of the Afghan fans look like thugs

Afghans yeah, as most of them are young and probably asylum seekers, we have the same problem here. I was talking about the Pakistanis as you could see by their reaction that they were local and somewhat surprised, also could hear women screaming in the background.

If it was just Pakistani charray, it would've be an all out brawl.

Been a while since I heard charray:))

You guys really love your conspiracy theories.

Obviously the Pakistani media likes peddling anti-India hate.

Don't bring religion into this or you will lose the argument. Muslims have been fighting muslims for centuries when there has been no one else to fight. It's human nature, getting under the umbrella of Ummah won't do anything.

Only way forward is education, unbiased, factual, non religious education.

Good post.

Muslims brothers, Hindus bad thinking will mean the subcontinent will continue to be the worst in socio-economic parameters.

Invest more in education, less in religion.

Been a while since I heard charray:))

Hadn't even thought of it in ages myself, but charray was the perfect term to use in this situation. The English translation would probably be naive, deadbeat, idle, disposable, testosterone filled orangutans. Always had a few of them around back home in case the parties had to instigate something.

Works both ways, tbf.

That being said I won't be surprised if some users on here were wearing a tinfoil hat when posting their theories.
