What's new

[VIDEOS] Has Haris Rauf proved himself to be a worthy member of the Pakistan side?

Rauf needs to be stopped being given the new bowl. He is not a opening bowler.

Rauf and Naseem need to start proceedings who are able to swing the ball with Rauf coming in as first or second change.

I have always disliked Rauf. He has got no swing or seam. His only variation is the predictable slow balls. He is only effective in T20s because batsmen are looking to be attacking. In fact, that is how he picks up his wickets because batsmen are looking to smash him out of the ground. But the way this guy celebrates his wickets, you would think he just bowled an unplayable inswinger or something. Like I said, I have always disliked him and I would love to see the back of this poor man’s Wahab Riaz.

This he is a tape ball bowler who is unfamiliar with seam and swing, basically a tennis ball product

Need to change the title of this thread...lol
The thread started in 2020 and we're still debating whether he needs to be here or not?
He is here to stay and play, over rated or not.

Agreed and suggestion implemented.

How can you be mad at the guy for being happy?!

His story of zero to hero is absolutely legendary. Your post reeks of jealousy.

Ran away from Test cricket at the speed of light, will never play Test cricket again & his Test record would read average of 78, economy rate of 6.

He is very ordinary in ODIs & good in T20Is but he was nothing special in the World Cup even though a lot was expected from him.

He let Pakistan down against India in spite of running his mouth & the humiliation at the hands of Kohli will be his defining image in international cricket.

A nothing cricketer with a nothing legacy. No one will remember him two weeks after he is dumped out of the team.

All this zero to hero sensationalism makes me laugh.

You misunderstood.

I didn’t say move on from him as in drop him from the squad. I said move on from the argument that he is struggling because he is carrying a niggle.

The reality is that Pakistan has already seen the best of Rauf & it is all downhill from here. His best was not very good either. He gets a lot of hype but the reality is that he is nothing more than a right-handed Wahab.

"His best was not very good either"
:)
We will leave this here

A nothing cricketer with a nothing legacy. No one will remember him two weeks after he is dumped out of the team.

His unique story means his legacy is going to last a very long time. Kids in tape ball circuits will be told all about him.

I doubt Haris Rauf will have to pay for anything again for the rest of his life.

He is the true story of the underdog who made it.

Bro you can't say Haris performed badly against India in the world cup match. Those two shots by Kohli were outrageous and only expected from a batsman of his class. Haris didn't necessarily bowl badly.

If we judge players like that then Kohli is a nothing player for being out twice in two balls to Amir during the CT Final.

The first shot by Kohli, Haris Rauf couldn't do anythign about it because that was one of the greatest shots of all time from the T20 GOAT Kohli. But the second six Kohli hit next ball was because Rauf bowled a bad ball.

On that day, it was Shaheen, and Rauf who cost the game for Pakistan, not Nawaz. Also Babar cost the game due to his captaincy, but unfortuanelty everyone will believe it was all Nawaz's fault.

Haris Rauf is a fantastic T20 bowler for Pakistan but will struggle in longer formats including ODIs. He does not have much experience bowling more than 4 overs and that shows in his performances.

Haris Bottler Rauf. Once Batsmen go after him, he loses the plot and confidence completely.

So, just to be clear, he's not a "street cricketer"?

What hero to zero? The fact that someone like Rauf can make his way into Pakistan team in his late 20s despite being a tape ball cricketer all his life shows how low the stocks have fallen in regards to Pakistan bowing.

And I hate his celebrations. On another day, his ‘wicket taking’ deliveries would go for six. There is nothing special in his bowling, yet he celebrates taking wickets like he is bowling in swingers like prime Waqar Younis.

So, just to be clear, he's not a "street cricketer"?

Of course he is a tape ball/street cricketer. He is too scared of playing red ball, he is poor in ODIs & he got smashed around in T20Is before he morphed into Sohail Tanvir & started deceiving bowlers with cheap slower ones & after pretending that he was Shoaib Akhtar 2.0

That gimmick ran its course too & now he is finished. PCB should learn a lesson from this & not fast-track tape ball bowlers like him.

Haris should watch how Siraj has bowled i.e. mixing the slower ball bouncers with wide yorkers and bowling to his field. He rescued India from a tough situation against an on song Bracewell.

Absolutely right. That WC match against India was lost by Shaheen & Rauf in 18th & 19th over but it was Nawaz who got all the blame because he bowled last over. Nawaz also deserves the blame as he should have defended in last over but many posters put all the blame on him. Rauf & Shaheen also choked in Semi Final against Australia in 2021 T20 wc. Rauf, Shaheen, Babar & Rizwan are enjoying stardom created by their fans & media. I am still waiting for their match winning performance in big match

There's nothing in his bowling, gun barrel straight and doesn't extract much bounce.

If Shaheen is absent from this world cup then Rauf will lead the attack for Pakistan and that would make it easy for the opposition to attack Pakistani bowlers.
I said this a long time ago.
He has nothing except speed.

Siraj is a far superior bowler & it has a lot to do with the fact that he has played 55 FC matches. He has learned the art of bowling.

He is not a tape ball bowler who is playing regular international cricket with virtually no FC experience. There is nothing that Rauf can learn from him because he is not capable of replicating what he does.

They were great shots but equally pathetic deliveries. If Rauf was good as his fans say he is, he would have been able to nail at least one yorker & Kohli would not have been able to get those 12 runs, maybe 7-8 at max & that could have been the difference in the end.

Rauf let Pakistan down & bottled as much as Nawaz did in the final over.

Haris Rauf for Rangpur Riders - 2/4 in 1 over!

Gone downhill in the recent home series.

He needs to reflect on what he wants. Just money or more.

Haris Rauf to Shakib, no run, good length on the stumps, Shakib stays leg-side of the ball and defends to cover, that was bowled at 151kph according to the speedgun

I like Haris Rauf. Has a great attitude and is a very dangerous T20 , ODI bowler for now. Exciting to watch, great action as well.

He was shown his way by Iftikhar by 3 consecutive 6s!
Iftikhar definitely had the upper hand this time although Rauf has had him many times in the past.

Another chink in his armour isthe lack of reverse swing, seldom he has done it, not sure he will succeed on the docile wickets of India for 50 over WC,

Rauf is basically a poor bowler who had a good purple patch. Leave it to Pakistani fans to overrate players & get carried away.

Lahore Qalandars bowlers not looking in great shape for the PSL

Rashid Khan has been ordinary in the SA league

Rauf struggling these days

Shaheen unlikely to be in the best shape for the entirety of the tournament

Haris Rauf was at the receiving end as he gave away 42 runs in his four overs while picking up two wickets - started off well though.

He’s not bowling his yorkers at the back end as he used to whilst rising into the Pakistan team. Too fascinated with slower ball cutters these days

Not sure he has recovered fully from hus injury was in too much hurry to head back on the park.

Contrary to others i think there is a decent odi and test bowler in him if he sorts his fitness

If only you had this same level of confidence when people bump you on these threads.

Because you usually just tend to vanish or go underground when that happens.

What threads would that be? I never login from my laptop. I only use the mobile version so I don’t check my notifications.

Please don't tell me you are talking about a certain clown who averages 36 in Test cricket with the ball overall. 51 vs England, 50 vs New Zealand & 34 vs Australia.

Who took 3 wickets in the entire T20 World Cup & 3 of his 5 ODIs have come against Netherlands. Are you talking about him?

Haris taken to the cleaners by Jason Roy - 19 runs off the first over!

Not very impressive so far at PSL8.

Economy rate of 10.45 in their 3 matches.

Focus should be on cricket

Not tweeting to be popular.

Hor karo #sochnaBhiManaHai

Haris Rauf hasn't been the same ever since he got hit by Kohli for 2 sixes. I don't think he merits a spot in Pakistan's ODI team for the 2023 WC.

Absolute rubbish bowler who has been hyped to the moon by fans because of a few decent performances. Pakistani fans love overhyping mediocre players.

Form is temporary, lack of class is permanent.

Rauf is nothing more or nothing less than a right handed Wahab Riaz, but he and his delusional fans like to pretend that he is the second coming of Shoaib Akhtar.

He had a brief purple patch in 2022 but apart from that he has been nothing great. Just a T20 bowler at best. The way he chickened out of Test cricket after just 1 Test was embarrassing.

It was wonderful to see Kohli put him in his place after he ran his mouth and posters like Mobashir told us that Kohli cannot play him.

It's this kind of intelligent thinking that Raud needs to put in place more often.

Economy rate of 10.20 in 4 matches so far at PSL8

3 wickets for 153 runs.

He often gets his line and length wrong. If can bowl in the right areas then at his pace he can make life difficult for batsmen. There are very little margin of errors in T20 games played on flat pitches. This format is for entertainment so shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Rauf has improved a lot but he still needs to bowl the right lines and lengths. He gives too many runs.He should bowl fast yorkers. It is difficult to hit yorkers at his pace if they are well directed.

Smashed for 52 today, the most runs he's conceded in a PSL innings.

His economy rate at PSL 8 is currently 9.18.

He lacks the quality/imagination of setting up a batter ala Asif... should ring him up only for this matter.

Deserves to be dropped, not rested

He’s been non serious throughout the tournament. I’ve never seen him this immature

Rauf's on fire today. Consistently hitting 150kph.

I wonder why his pace was down in the previous matches.

A pair of 150+kph thunderbolts in the final over. An outstanding death bowler.

<div style="width: 100%; height: 0px; position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.250%;"><iframe src="https://streamable.com/e/04fkup" frameborder="0" width="100%" height="100%" allowfullscreen style="width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute;"></iframe></div>

Jheez. 154kph. Heart of a lion. Aggressive cricketer too which can only be commended. Aggression from trundlers like Amir means nothing but it can be intimidating when 154kph thunderbolts are being fired at you!

Haris can be very dangerous on pitches which offer pace and bounce.High pace needs very quick reactions from batsmen. When Haris doesn’t get his line and length right he starts leaking runs.He bowled the over with fire. Can’t wait to see Ihsanullah on pacy pitches.

Haris was getting smashed all over the Park previous matches.

Now at Lahore with big boundaries, he’s getting wickets.

Goes to show how fluke batting has been this season.

He's never ever convincing. Even this season his economy is above 9. Most bowlers with an econ above 9 are junk.

He was pretty convincing in both the Asia Cup and the World Cups. Regularly got the big players out.

What we forget is that he’s coming back from an injury in this PSL. It’s difficult enough to recapture bowling rhythm, especially in a frantic competition like the PSL. It’s the same reason why Shaheen hasn’t looked his best either. Fast bowlers are different to batsmen. They need time to get into rhythm.

Purple patch.

Best direct replacement for him is Ihsanullah.

Never learns does he.

Absolute garbage once again.

Smashed for 49 in the PSL 8 final

I was always right about him. This is why I keep telling people it is futile to argue with me.

I see things others don’t, which is why I am always three steps ahead and end up having the last laugh.
