It's a blessing tbh, what made the team competitive was the pitches, the erratic bowling unit looked unplayable in the rare circumstances they were accurate.
On these pitches, theres just one decent bowler, Imad's 4 overs would've been restricted to 25-30 runs. Rest of them would've been hammered for 10 an over atleast. No other effective spinner is a massive achilles heel on these pitches. In the Super 8s would've conceded 190+ every game. That's the game lost right there.
The batting unit is simply toothless against quality bowling, irrespective of wherever they play. 3 wickets and the world's longest tailend is on display.
Super 8s would've been a torcher to watch and perhaps even more humiliating! No qualifying means atleast the dreams of 'hammering the opposition, have we qualified' dreams are kept alive. The game and the opposition have moved on.
