He was an awful cricketer in his prime. As I have said before there is no difference between him and nawaz with nawaz at least is a better fielder and a better bowler.

Problem with Pakistani fans is that the longer a player stays out of the team, the more his stock rises.

If Imad played continuously to date, he would be one of the most criticized players and those who want him to play ahead of Nawaz would be wanting Nawaz to replace him.

When Imad was playing, they wanted Nawaz because he could apparently spin the ball. Now that Nawaz has played and failed, Imad has become a messiah.

Imad, Nawaz and Shadab are all average cricketers and it makes no difference who plays and who doesn’t.

So, today Imad Wasim moved up to No. 5 for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders against Sharjah Warriors in ILT20 2024, but his batting form seems to be on a shaky ground lately in franchise cricket, especially after retiring from international play. He only managed to score 4 runs off 7 balls. I'm wondering, what could be going wrong with his batting? Maybe it's adapting to the T20 format, feeling the pressure, or tweaking his technique.

Overweight and a bit overrated, even in T20s. He had potential, even for ODI cricket. Had he worked hard, he could have batted at no 4 for Pak in white ball cricket.

Like many Pak players, lacked passion and desire.

Imad Wasim just finished bowling 4 overs. His performance was excellent, taking 1 wicket for 21 runs. Usually, he's strong in the powerplay, but this time, he managed to get a wicket after it.

This is the norm for a cricket fan to discuss ifs and buts about a guy who has retired and they want him to be back in the team for certain people like if he was there, we could have won this match that match. But the reality is reality and we should accept it, imad is a retired guy now and until he thinks like he should be taking his retirement back and grinding in domestics to make his case for selection, he is not worthy of comparing with anybody now.

He is neither a bowler nor a batsman. He is the epitome of mediocrity just like nawaz shadab and other countless Spinners in Pakistan.
He is not a loss to Pakistan cricket and should just keep playing those low grade leagues.

Go look up his ODI batting numbers. They are incredible for someone who has batted at No.7 most of his career. You can dig deeper and look at his numbers against specific oppositions as well: England, Australia, South Africa, India, Bangladesh. Average of 43 and SR of 110. How many Pakistani batters have that?

"The character of Imad Wasim that we saw in domestic cricket and then when he played for Pakistan, and later stayed affiliated with Karachi Kings. The current Imad Wasim we see is different from what we saw before. He used to engage in a lot of discussions, had a very attacking type of body language, and made an effort to take charge. He has changed franchise now. He was a significant part of Karachi Kings for a long time. Perhaps, he is struggling to adjust to the new franchise. The body language he is displaying currently doesn't seem confident, neither in his batting nor in his bowling. Also, the way his fielding is being utilized in this Islamabad United team doesn't make him stand out. I don't see him actively involved in any particular aspect."

Not great for the franchise if this is the case.

Despite Madi bhai's poor form, he has done better than Babar's match winner Nawaz.

Anyhow it doesn't really matter what people are saying about him. Imad is retired, playing the big leagues and making the big buck. Let's see Nawaz retire and achieve half of what Imad has

Imad had also saved Pakistan against Afghanistan in the 2019 WC. Afghanistan would have had a 2-0 record against Pakistan in 50 over WCs if not for Imad.
