Bizzare selection. They don't need a top order player but a solid lower order finisher. Their side is top heavy but weak in middle order.
Warner+
Bairstow+
Pandey
Garg
Abhishek
Holder+
Samad
Rashid+
Bhuvi
Sandeep/Shahbaz
Natarajan
The bowling is top notch but what they need is an overseas middle order batsman and they are buying the likes of Williamson and Roy.
He couldn’t have chosen a worse team to sign for.
Warner & Bairstow is the best opening pair in IPL and both are overseas players.
I agree but the only reason I can think why they signed him is Warner is nursing a groin injury, if he misses any part of the tournament Roy can step in.
Also are you sure Bairstow will start? SRH fortunes changed last year when Holder came in and Saha played as a keeper. Williamson did well at 4 as well, the most interesting thing about SRH this season is how they will use Bairstow ,Roy, and Williamson.
Most certainly. Bairstow didn’t have a great season last time around but he played brilliantly in India in the white ball leg.
SRH would definitely look to capitalize on his great form.
Lol comparing worst brainless rcb team with srh who are consistent performers over the years reaching so many playoffs. They are the best available team after mi in terms of planning and buying players. Wait and see how they use roy.Exactly.
SRH management is brainless like RCB.
Already they have heavy top order, no need to take Roy.
Warner, Rasheed, Kane, Holder/Bairstow will fill OS quota.
Dont know what is the point of picking Roy.
You need to include Jadav in that list in middle order.
A team like KKR could really use Roy.
Narine run as an aggressive hack at the top of the order is over and he looks like a spent force with the ball as well.
He could easily replace him in the KKR XI with another local spinner getting a change alongside Kuldeep.
SRH is certainly the last team that needs him.
Roy - avg 40 str rate 107Superior version of Sehwag (only in limited overs cricket obviously)
Roy - avg 40 str rate 107
Sehwag - avg 35 str rate 104
If we account for era difference then I think both of them are on Par. The difference being that Sehwag's style of play wasn't really suited to his time, he would be a top draw in this era.
Superior version of Sehwag (only in limited overs cricket obviously)
Seems he may be out of the T20 World Cup due to a strain/injury in his left calf.
Q. What can you tell us about Jason Roy's injury?
EOIN MORGAN: That it's his calf. It obviously didn't look great. And we'll wait until tomorrow to see what his movement is like. Probably send him for a scan and then go from there. Apart from that, can't tell you much.
Q. Do you feel that his tournament is over or is it too early to say that?
EOIN MORGAN: It's difficult to assume. Obviously we're all hopeful that he comes through in some manner or there's some remedy to get him through one, if not two games. But we need to do what's best for Jason ultimately and then the team.
Q. Can you speak about what a blow that might be if it were to be the end for Jason? We've seen in 2019, what an integral part of the team he is. How important is he to you?
EOIN MORGAN: He's unbelievably important. He's a guy that epitomises everything that we are about in the changing room and the way that we play. You see how commanding he is at the top of the order, not only in T20 cricket but 50-over cricket as well. Obviously two different partners in the two formats. But yeah, he's as close as we get to surmising how the changing room should play.
Awesome innings. Got to be one of the best played in T20 league cricket.
I watched a little of his innings today and his batting set the tournament alight. Brill innings
His inclusion has completely changed the dynamics of the QG team, bowlers now have the confidence that no matter how many runs they concede, they have the batting firepower to chase down anything comfortably. QG batsmen now have the confidence to go hard at the opposition bowlers from ball one and Sarfaraz looks much calmer and at ease than usual.
Just shows how the inclusion of one world class player in the team makes a huge difference
Where are the losers who were doing bhangra at Hales leaving PSL midway?Apparently Jason roy has pulled out of ipl citing bubble fatigue
Apparently Jason roy has pulled out of ipl citing bubble fatigue
The guy just dropped a $200k paycheque
Respect.
If that paycheque was $2 million, would he have withdrawn?
Pakistanis have a tremendous sense of inferiority complex sometimes.
When PSL got postponed due to Covid cases, it was incompetence of our system. When it happened to almost every other team in every other sport including Premier League, NBA, Olympics, IPL etc, it was individual player issues.
It is the same case with bubble fatigue.
Yes, IPL has more money and top players in the world - so that is indeed a legitimate reason to prioritize IPL. But this is not to say PSL isn't an excellent product on its own. There is a place for both.
In fact Hales and Stirling flew back - which shows how blessed PSL is.
I bet any mishap on the Australia tour, and us Pakistanis will start moaning again. A sign of slave mentality.
