Iftikhar played plenty of T20I cricket in 2022 but performed in few matches only. Played Asia Cup, all 7T20s at home against Eng, New Zealand Tri Series & WC but his overall performance was mediocre. Played well only against India & SA in WC. In spite of getting many opportunities he never takes ownership and delivers for the team

Was our best player at the t20 World Cup. Thrives on the big stage.

RIZWAN is a much bigger issue. His 50(45) are hurting us a lot more.

One of the few Pakistan batsmen who can have real impact. It is a shame that he was ignored for ODIs against New Zealand. He should be playing in all formats for Pakistan.
 
He played really well in the world t20. I’m surprised he wasn’t selected for the recently concluded series. Hopefully he is selected for the NZ t20 and ODI series in April. He can hit the ball big when he wants too, and spend time at the crease. I wasn’t a fan of his before the World Cup, but he proved me wrong.

Pressure is created by bringing him down the order without time to settle.

Our international chacha deserves the number 3 slot.
 
Another BPL Bully, Muhammad Sami Iftikhar Ahmed and so and so have rocked BPL but they are a failure at international cricket
 
Chacha is a quality white ball cricketer and should play the worldcup in india. Would be deadly on those true pitches. Best through the line hitter in the country and a much better cricketer than Agha Salman.

I'm not convinced despite all the man love for Ifti.

Has had numerous chances on the international level but only performs once in a blue moon. Better to move on and invest in youth.

He is younger than our newly appointed one day vice captain.

Punting Shan and bringing Ifti on board is an (relative) investment in youth.

This. Countless chances and the guy has consistently failed. Couple of performances in a domestic league and people want this guy back

I mean, not saying Iftikhar didn’t play well, but we can’t really exaggerate it like that.

People harping on about world t20, conveniently forgetting what his numbers were before the tournament. He didn’t even deserve to be at the World Cup

He is what Misbah should have become in T20 in the latter part of his career

Misbah could have been a monster but he didn’t choose the thug life

Misbah was one of our best T20 hitters.

This Ifti guy does at times remind you of Misbah, but Misbah had a much higher peak and could do it consistently at the international level.

Misbah could have been

He was built like an Ox. Absolute tank of a human being. I saw him up close and personal in 2013 and 2016 when Pakistan were here in London for the CT and England tour. The man is 95% muscle mass although he doesn’t look like a body builder, but he is raw muscle.

If you are built like a demolisher, there is no need for you to be a calculated risk taker as he was for most of his career. For me, Misbah was totally misguided by whoever was managing him. He needed to break loose once in his career and he would never have looked back as a total bludgeoner of the ball.

He chose the easy path. The path of averages
 
The difference between him and #2 and then #2 (Shakib al Hasan) compared to the last (Azam Khan) in the list. :afridi1

Amazing innings.
Didn't succumb to the pressure. Playing in QG is the worst. Even a 50 is worth much more.
The death bowling wasn't too bad tonight. If they missed their length even by an inch Ifti would've made them pay.
He is that player.
 
This innings looks good on paper but isn’t anything impactful yes got QG to good score but he played a maiden of neesham . 18 runs of haris for PZ were more impactful and made PZ in comfortable position .

What happened today? Back to Tuktuk and Out! Should be dropped for the rest of the tournament. Players like this looks good in test matches
 
All eyes on Iftikhar Ahmed right now - not been that great in the PSL as lot of expectations were on his head after his BPL exploits.

Not every player can be successful all the time.

Ifti is not going to be a Virat Kohli but he has the potential to do a more than decent job for us.

The more I see of him the more I want to see him in the top order.

RRR was already 14 when Ifti came out to bat.

He should be batting ahead of Sarfraz and Hafeez.

Half of his international career he has been forced to come in while the others tuk tuk around and put the pressure on the likes of him to tee off from ball one. It looks like the same is happening in the PSL.
 
People need to have realistic expectations of Uncle Ifti. His official age is 32 but he looks more like 42.

He might play a gem every now and then but what has been apparent in the last few months is that his reflexes are starting to fade away. I've seen him trapped lbw against straight deliveries where he's been beaten for sheer pace quite a few times now. He consumes a lot of dot deliveries like Misbah.

I wouldn't pick him for the World Cup in India later this year unless we want Mohali part 2 ofc :misbah

BPL hero is rubbish. He is just a other misbah chews up many deliveries then try’s to hit out . Pakistan has better options

Averages 19 at a strike rate of 118 in his PSL career not sure there are any worse stats for a middle order batsmen yet Iftikhar is an automatic pick for Pakistan.

Today was an ideal opportunity for him to go out there and win the match alongside Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Go out there and score at the required rate, build his innings and show some class.

But he flopped, once again.
 
Gets to his fifty in Match 28 in 28 balls and tells his detractors to shut up.

I noticed during WT20 in Australia last year that his reflexes were going. Yes there were couple of nice 50s but he was getting beaten for pace against gun barrel straight deliveries which led to a few lbw dismissals.

Iftikhar is finished and shouldn't play for Pakistan again.

Look at his PSL record average 19 strike rate 118 he's clearly not been performing well enough costing Quetta as they needed a senior player to play well.
