We never had this culture - and this seems very forced and very deliberate. Nothing natural about it at all. Just very cringe, embarassing and leading us in to an abyss of cake cutting, high fiving without any thought of any strategy on the pitch.

it’s really pathetic to see. It all started from Asad Shafiq’s cake in 2016 under Misbah - which is probably why you don’t mind it. There is a world outside misbah you know

The 2016 reference by [MENTION=154144]TheSultan[/MENTION] was in reference to Misbah's cake cutting exercise for his beloved Asad Shafiq after he had scored a hundred in a losing cause during the horror series in that tour of Australia.

That Shafiq cake cutting incident was just to celebrate that incredible innings - no over-friendly / social media acting that happens nowadays..

In fact the early days of PSL was very hostile . Still remember Wahab pushing Ahmed Shehzad as well as Amir having a few strong words to Chachu and a few other players..

When Amir gives someone a send off - the first thing we see is a thread on how he is “ungrateful” and “selfish” but we also have threads like this - so I’m not sure what players should or should not be doing!

I think the friendliness is also a function of the format itself.

In PSL, the 3rd worst team (PZ this year) can qualify for the real meaningful knockout games, despite having lost half their games.

League matches aren’t as consequential, thus the friendliness towards each other in them.

It’s why we eventually need two more teams in the PSL. There has to be more jeopardy in the qualification system.

However, players also need to raise their intensity in all games. It’s the professional thing to do.

Why are our batsmen so scared of the ball? Harris is acting as if Shaheen is about to throw a grenade at him!

I’ve only seen Pak batsmen ducking and jumping around like that when the bowlers follows through with a throw. So embarrassing
