He has to force his way into the squad batting in the top 6
His battings not good enough to be batting top 6 or 7.

Is the opening with Nawaz trick been overused?
Him bowling the first over will work for a couple of matches in the series, but if you keep doing it and make it predictable then the opposition will work you out, as England have.
They are trying to make him Imad Wasim , which he is not.

I wonder what's said in these prematch meetings. We've decent new ball bowlers in Rauf and Hasnain, yet Babar opens with Nawaz. They are trying to make him Imad Wasim , which he is not.
Imad Wasim was not good either.
He opens the bowling frequently in PSL and those who have watched him over the years can tell that he struggles with the new ball in Pakistan. He was really effective in UAE.
He is not a darter like Imad. He is a conventional finger spinner, and if you are opening with him on flat wickets you are not utilizing him properly. He is a good option with the new ball on slow wickets only.
Nawaz is a good player, a homeless man’s Jadeja at best, which means he merits a place in the team.
Imad is a one trick pony with the ball, he just has the arm ball, he can't turn it at all. But somehow he still gets wickets, he's very clever with his flight. Also he's a better bat in my opinion. Although both are pretty ordinary to be perfectly honest, you can take or leave either.
People were raving about his batting, but he has done nothing with the bat since the India Asia Cup game. His bowling has been poor recently as well, but that is more the fault of incompetent captain for giving him the ball during the powerplay overs.
In comparison to Moeen and Adil he stil bowled decently.
There might be a place for both in the team. Even if Imad doesn’t bowl he probably brings more to the table than Khushdil. You can do a direct swap and you won’t make the team worse.
The chief selector hates Imad with passion though. It almost feels personal at this point. He would rather play with 10 men than let Imad back in the squad.

Imad's issues are with Babar than the CS. Even in the Karachi Kings team you saw that they weren't talking to each other.
Which makes it even more baffling that the incompetent captain only bowled him for one over in the final match.
I agree he should have bowled atleast 2 overs.
He keeps picking up wickets, but he can also be very expensive.
He needs to watch the batsmen's feet, whenever they come down the track he doesn't adjust his line and length and is easily hit for six. This is irritating.
Can't blame Nawaz. It's stupid to give a spinner the last over, especially against India.
Babar completetly messed it up. When India were 4 down, he didn't go for kill and they didn't play an extra fast bowler either.
They will learn it the hard way now.

Nawaz choked horribly. No 2 ways about it.

I thought Nawaz was unlucky with that no ball call from the square leg umpire. Looked marginal but Kohli knew what he was doing and the umpires gave in.
Nawaz does not deserved to be blamed for this loss. Bowling the final over as a spinner is a very difficult task.
Babar and Rizwan lost us this game. They scored 4 runs off 13 balls. As I've stated on numerous occasions over the last few months, they're massively overrated by the green tinted hype brigade.
Babar needs to bat at 3 like Kane Williamson and Joe Root do. He's at their level in T20Is. He has no right whatsoever to be opening the batting.
Time for Shan Masood and Babar to swap batting positions.
Slightly confused on his role in the team.
He is hardly given any overs to bowl.
Is a bowler being played as a specialist batsmen?
He is not the only one confused, we are all confused regarding his role in the team. Babar doesn't trust his bowling but trying to justify his selection in the team by playing him as a batter , it almost cost us the match against BD.
We're missing Imad.
