[VIDEOS/PICTURES] Naseem Shah in Australia (2019)

He is not 5'10 no way max 5'9 at a push. And its a given shorter bowlers have to be quicker.

No way he is 5'9 he is tall as Azhar ali and mohammad Abbas whi are both 5'10 and above it was pretty clear too see during the match

See below pic aczhar ali shoulders are actually higher and he is only 1.75m tall which is 5.7 and a half. There is no way Naseem shah is 5'10 max 5.9 if that.

Azhar ali is not 5 7 don't judge on google measurements I have met azhar and asad both I was couple of inches taller then asad and couple shorter then Azhar and I am 5'8

Lol and only judging it till shoulder bhai neck and head are also part of human body

1.75 is 5'8 max rounded up. otherwise I could call myself 5'9 lol

You are confusing decimal points with inches. 175cm is 5.74 feet in decimals, but 5'9 because there are 12 inches in a foot...

175.3cm is 5'9 exactly.

You can call yourself 5'9 :sarf2

I would rather go with 5.74 feet in decimals as we are talking about accurate measurement here. In anycase like I said he is too small to bowl gun barrel straight like he did in this game. Australia's taller and stronger bowlers got more out of the surface.

At this height you dont get much seem movement on hard wickets you just get straight bounce and the bowl didnt really swing for anyone.

Sure, you can do that, nobody is stopping you.... but literally nobody uses decimal points when using feet/inches. You'll have to convert all heights when comparing. 5'11 will become 5.9 feet, etc.

He should get some more lateral movement with the Pink Ball, specially if Pakistan bowls under lights.

Azhar Ali:

"The good thing about Naseem Shah is that whenever he bowled, he bowled well. The last couple of weeks haven't been easy for him but we backed him because of his skills. His pace was up whenever he bowled, his lines and lengths were good and he troubled the batsmen. But we have to see what all he's been through, he's just 16, very young body. We have to be careful and we don't want to put too much (pressure) on him. Talent wise and skill wise, we know he belongs here but we'll think hard about how we want to manage him"

Looks like he might not play the 2nd Test.

I’m convinced that they overbowled him on Day 2 at Brisbane and that he now has stress damage to his spine or shins.

Pairing him with another teenager plus an unfit grandpa like Imran was a terrible idea, because Naseem and Shaheen were going to end up overbowled.

And young bodies are fragile.

The medical staff needed to tell Misbah and Azhar “your teenagers are restricted to one 4 over spell per session. No exceptions”.

Is Naseem Shah injured?

Surely there has to be more behind Pakistan not bowling him in day 3 of the test and being extremely reluctant to pick him for the second test. Is this the downfall of another Pakistani talent?

Wouldn’t be surprised

Looks like the type of bowler that’s gonna be getting a lot of stress fractures

Misbah's policy of playing no pace allrounders and mediocre spinners meant that he was overbowled on the 2nd day.

Though dont think he would have a serious injury, if any

Personally I would have debuted naseem Shah and musa in odi's and T20's Vs Netherland and Ireland next year and then build them from there.

I'm sure seniors can rest Vs those games

He was bowling in the nets today.

If he was injured then he wouldn't have been bowling during net practice.

I wonder if Naseem is not injured then it is extremely baffling to see his work load being managed by playing on the flattest track possible and resting him on a fast bowling paradise

I actually want Musa to play over Naseem we are never beating Aus no matter who is in the side Musa or Naseem so best option is to test Musa and build a group of 5-6 pacers who can all cover for each other

It's all really strange. Taken out of the attack right after getting David Warner and not being bowled again but staying on the field the whole time. And now suggestions that he won't play in Adelaide. Almost sounds like he's gotten on the wrong side of the captain/coach and is being punished

If he is not injured then it's baffling as to why he won't play tomorrow. He was the best pacer on show in the last test and can do some serious damage under lights and he is threatening outside of that too.

He can rest after the test is over. It's not like he hasn't been playing back to back games before this.

Ricky Ponting:

"The fact that they played the 16-year-old kid last week, yes he can bowl fast but it's one thing to maintain it over 5 days in a Test. He only got through one innings, they only bowled him for 4 overs in his last spell, they need to consider whether they play him again. Test cricket is not the stage for a boy to be, you can't grow up and learn the game at Test level, it'll just break you down and spit you out pretty quickly"

Naseem has been playing 4 day FC games in Pakistan, non-stop, here in Australia be bowled in only inning of Brisbane test and had many days of rest, should be ready for Adelaide. Musa is not as good a replacement, he is too short and not as fast, but a bit older and much fitter, will bowl all day if needed.

Misbah is a very very experienced cricketer, he is educated and smart then why is he so clueless when it comes to making cricketing decision, unbelievable.

Just hope to God that Naseem learnt something from this tour.

Naseem Shah’s career has been saved by his non selection in Adelaide

The bowling has been WORSE on a bowling friendly pitch than the Gabba , Musa khan and Yasir shah being disasters. Abbas being ineffective. The bright spots in first spot was Naseem shah and everyone is talking of Waqar and Misbah’s incompetence. This might have saved Naseem’s career in the short run as he is not associated with this disaster test

Thats true but our next assignment is at home where only two pacers will be playing..i think we need him as the X factor as nobody does well on home wickets anyways

Hope Naseem can use this Australia trip as learning experience and become what we want him to become!

There's something to work with when it comes to Naseem. The basics are there, skills, fitness etc will all come and develop in the coming years.

I stood next to him today. I’m 5’7 and he was maybe, possibly 2 inches taller.

I think he is 5’8 and that’s going to be a major problem.

He's having no trouble running on and off the field carrying drinks though.

Perhaps he's not what they call 'match fit'....
If he is fit, then preferring Musa Khan to him should be a sackable offence.

And if they are lying about an injury, that’s okay until match day - it could be deceiving the opposition. But carrying on the lie now? That is an insult to their own supporters. And also a sackable offence.

No i think the reason they didn't pick him is simple. They saw the pitch, they knew it would be a road, they knew the team is going to get hammered no need to risk naseem. After the 1st game misbah and younis couldn't keep imran in XI so obviously Musa was thrown to the wolves.

Musa shouldn't have been in the squad in the first place, he's got nothing in his locker other than 145k deliveries that every team has. Except he's shorter than most so that makes him even less effective.

As confirmed in the other thread - He's confirmed he is fully fit, not injured and was dropped for the 2nd Test.

So, they actually sat down and chose Musa over a fit Naseem?

Oh boy.

What a joke Pakistani cricket has become.

Tbh after your made up stories I can’t take this seriously

What the hell was musa doing playing after such a poor record in domestic and even shorter than Naseem? It was criminal to go in with 2 fast bowlers and a rookie.
