[VIDEOS/PICTURES] Sahibzada Farhan - First impressions

He’s improved a lot. He has the look of a proper batsman now.

Would definitely consider him over Abdullah Shafique in ODI.

Sahibzada Farhan is just unstoppable. Today, he scored 58(30) against Sialkot in the National T20 Cup 2023

Sahibzada Farhan is carrying his excellent form from the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2023 and Pakistan Cup 2023 into the National T20 Cup 2023.

He lacks consistency big time and even on form he has clicked in 3 games out of 8.
I’m actually inclined to agree with you. Just performs in televised matches hence why he gets noticed. He’s a brilliant player to watch when on song but really needs to be more consistent to nail down a spot. Pakistan is crying for an opener like him who can take advantage of the power play.

He has another wild day again, 47 (23). He's in some crazy form.

It's not just this year. He has scored heavily in domestics across formats for last 3 years now but I will never be convinced this guy is international material.
Any reason why you say he isn't international material?

Today Match Against FATA, Peshawar's Sahibzada Farhan scored another fifty 74(40) in National T20 Cup 2023.

In which PSL team you want to see him?

My guy

Butchering opponents from the word go now.

Sahibzada Farhan continues his amazing run with another match-winning knock

His last 8 matches:

74 off 40 (185 SR)
47 off 23 (204 SR)
64 off 40 (160 SR)
58 off 30 (193 SR)
15 off 7 (214 SR)
10 off 12 (83 SR)
64 off 31 (206 SR)
109* off 54 (202 SR)

Looking like the player he threatened to be.
Needs to play all 3 formats looks a quality player finally fulfilling his potential.

He used to open with Nouman Anwar is grade 2 cricket. And was overshadowed by Nouman Anwar is domestics as he dominated. We lost nauman Anwar to mismanagement and can’t afford to lose Farhan aswell.

This guy is in supreme form, he surely desrves a chance to get selected for New Zealand T20I series.

Sahibzada Farhan has finished as the No. 1 batter in consecutive T20 National Cup seasons for the past three years.

Look at his improvement in strike rate compared to last season.

He has broken the door now after knocking so much on the door of selectors. He should definitely be in for the New Zealand series. Not taking him in will be very unfair to the likes of him who are consistently performing and not getting a chance.

Peshawar couldn't qualify for Final in National T20 Cup 2023. Yet Peshawar's Sahibzada Farhan is leading run scorer of the tournament:

Innings 12
Runs 492
HS 109*
Ave 44.72
SR 178.90
100× 1, 50×4

After some stellar domestic form, he makes his return to the PSL for Lahore Qalandars

In the second round of the President's Trophy, Sahibzada Farhan showcased his brilliance as the opening batter for SNGPL. He crafted a resilient 17 (31) in the first innings and then unleashed his prowess with a sensational 51 (61) in the second innings, leading SNGPL to a resounding victory over PTV by 8 wickets.

Farhan's stellar performance has rightfully earned him a spot in Pakistan's squad for the upcoming New Zealand tour in 2024, a testament to his remarkable form across all formats in the 2023 domestic season.

Sahibzada Farhan, while talking to the media during Pakistan's training camp for the New Zealand series, said:

“I have been playing as an opening batter for the last three years, however, I have also played at the number three position and have performed at this number too."

“I am ready to play at any number for Pakistan whenever I get a chance.”

“Our team have performed well in New Zealand and we will try to do better this time."

I am excited to see the opening combo of Saim and Farhan. This combination is the one that will make use of powerplays effectively for Pakitan.

Two T20Is gone, and two defeats. The poor selection, including Azam Khan. Sahibzada Farhan, the top performer of the domestic season 2023, is still sitting on the bench.

Sahibzada Farhan scores a fifty for Karachi Ghazis against Sukkur Patriots in SPL. Good to see that he has not lost his form.

This guy must have been given a chance to play all 5 T20Is against NZ but as we know our team management is expert in spoiling talent.

Yep. Prioritize seniors no matter what even if they are past it.

Sadly that is the culture in all of Pakistan. You get no respect if you are a youngster even if you are better at the job as someone older than you.

On a side note, Karachi Ghazis is a far better name for a team than Karachi Kings which sounds generic and overdone at this point.

There’s hundreds of t20 teams in the world with City Name + Kings as their name by now

After being overlooked for the Australia Test tour (2023-24) and receiving limited opportunities during the New Zealand T20I series (2024), Sahibzada Farhan compiled his 8th First-Class century in the President's Trophy 2023-24 final for SNGPL. He scored 161 (206) on day 1 against WAPDA. This marks his 4th First-Class hundred of the 2023/24 season.

Farhan is in excellent form these days. Let's see if he can carry it into the PSL to entertain his fans.

By the way from which team he is playing in PSL?

People are talking about Saim Ayub opening in WCT20, but I believe Farhan Sahibzada is a real contender for the slot.

most consistent batsman in T20 cricket but management made him play at #5 in international cricket and expecting him to justify his performance at that position where he had never played before.

Don't need another accumulator in the T20 team.

Can have him in the squad at best.

He should get a go in Tests and ODI's.

He isn't an accumulator and isn't an totally explosive player he's somewhere in the middle of the two.

Nah, still not what Pak needs.

Already have Rizwan and Babar in the team playing a similar role.

Need aggressive batsmen like Zaman and Ayub kind.

Rizwan and Babar (if he isn’t playing at number 3) isn’t what Pakistan needs

Another one who aims to get a 50 and thinks job done. Sorry look around the world. 50s are not match winning where are the big scores?

I don't think he is an accumulator. He can start from the very first balls and keeps on going. He is in the form of his life, just needs to play at the number he is supposed to, that is to open.

He definitely is not that kind of batsman.

Tried to move outside off-stumpt to scoop
the ball was too wide, so he dabbed it for 4
Bro thinks he's Maxwell

Sahibzada Farhan reaches his third fifty in PSL 9 against Karachi Kings. Also, now the highest run-getter of PSL 9.

Despite performing exceptionally well in every format, Sahibzada Farhan hasn't been given a chance in his rightful position in the Pakistan team.

Creative thinking by the PCB by rewarding a opening batsmen with a lower order batting position.

Sahibzada Farhan played a scintillating knock of 45(27) against Tasmania Tigers in the Top End series T20 match today and helped Pakistan win the match by 5 wickets.

Sahibzada Farhan is the third top run-getter for Pakistan Shaheens in the Top-End T20 series in Darwin.

Matches: 6

Runs: 130

HS: 45

SR: 136.84

Does his talent justify this performance?

Sr of 136 any day over a conscious effort to not even strike the ball in the powerplay the way Babar and Rizwan do
