[VIDEOS/PICTURES] The ‘Mauka Mauka’ campaign and various leg-pulling Indo-Pak ads

No surprise really their media and fans have been humbled

The real streak, which is the 50 over World Cup streak is still alive. That has to come to an end!

No sir, streak is broken. It was for all world cups - 50 overs, 20 overs and if we EVER play WTC finals. There is no streak alive now. Pakistan did to India in last WT20 what Lesnar did to Taker in WM30 and my reaction was equivalent to that shocked guy in glasses.

It stands 13-1 now and there is no streak.

Question is, can Pakistan do a repeat in WT20 this year or even better in 50 over WC next year in India and do what Roman Reigns did to Taker in WM 33? :13:

More Importantly Can Pakistan win more often in World cup Matches vs India, we do not want to see India win 10 straight, so record looks like 23-1, We need to beat them regularly, if possible. Do not think we will overpass them in world cup wins, but lets try to make it close.

Also need to end the ODI world cup streak as well, grand the streak for all world cup is finished, but need to end the ODI one.

Who knows maybe we can have our own streak going (doubt it) but if we can start winning more matches that will be nice

Real, die hard cricket fans know that beating India in a 50 over World Cup is the holy grail for Pakistan, not this T20 fluke rubbish.

The most painful memories of being a Pakistan fan is the hurt in the 2003, 2011 and 2015 World Cup. 2019 was kind of ok because Pakistan did annihilate India 2 years prior in the CT final. But we must beat India where it matters most and that’s the 50 over World Cup!

Why would 2015 hurt? You lost to a much superior India side and most Pakistani fans knew it before the game. A bowling attack of Sohail Khan, Irfan, Wahab, Yasir Shah and Afridi was never meant to win a game against peak Rohit, Dhawan, Kohli and Raina's of the world.

2003 & 2011 I agree...you being hurt is justified.

Also, 2019 was not okay for this very reason that Pak annihilate India just 2 years ago. Fans would have expected dominance from there on. But what followed next with those 2 Asia cup games & WC 19 match kind of put an asterisk on that CT Finals win.

Good advert. They are calling it as 'greatest rivalry' is back.

Where are the ignorant Indian fans who say Ind-Aus is the greatest rivalry? :13:

Agreed. I would like to think we have bridged the gap a bit with the induction of players such as Babar, Shaheen, Fakhar.

India is stronger on paper but Pakistan has enough to complete strongly.

mauka mauka will be back when odi world cup comes

Star has chosen to mellow it down. Was expecting another #PhirSeAaneDo or #DubaiKaBadla

We never won any ICC tournaments after this manhoos campaign although they did make it spicy.

Really the "mauka mauka" adverts were rather amusing:warner Indo-Pak is a historical rivalry where as Ind-Aus is only a Cricket one. We know what the Aussies have just done to the Pak's and Indian's at the Commonwealth Hockey:yuvi

Without any doubt Indo Pak rivalry is the greatest in cricket. India vs Australia rivalry on the other hand is a normal cricket rivalry without any political or emotional attachment. :inti

I think Ind-Pak is greatest rivalry in white ball cricket and Ind-Aus/Ashes are greatest rivalries in tests. We play in ICC tournaments every year...so white ball rivalry is still intact. Many young cricket fans were probably not born when last test match was played between these two countries. So no rivalry exists there.

The battle had long begun on social media, ever since the Asia Cup 2022 schedule was announced with the blockbuster India versus Pakistan clash in Dubai taking centre stage. But Indian multinational restaurant aggregator and food delivery company, Zomato, pulled off an epic tweet on Saturday, on the eve of the high-octane match, which reminded fans of Pakistan's loss against India in the 2019 World Cup at the Old Trafford.

India had won by 89 runs in Manchester in their World Cup group-stage tie. Following the loss, one of the Pakistan cricket team fans had alleged in a viral post saying, “I just came to know that the Pakistani players were having pizza and burgers last night. The Pakistani players should go for wrestling instead of cricket. Look at their fitness. We had so many hopes pinned on them and they were having pizza and burgers."

Reminding Pakistan fans of the same ahead of the blockbuster meeting, Zomato retweeted a post of Pakistan Cricket, where players are seen checking their mobile, and tweeted writing, "aaj raat ke kya plan? #burgerpizze."

PAK were absolute rubbish in ODI's for a good 13 -14 years(2007-2021) and we barely played each other so it was a useless rivalry .

Last 2 years that gap has been bridged and PAK pace trio and Top 3 has often made PAK a better side especially in T20's(where even Shadab is quality). Better players, Cricviz-driven match strategy have changed the game.

I'd go so far as to say that PAK are a better T20 side for sure and hot on our heels in ODI's. In previous years, we could afford to slip up and we'd still end up beating PAK but now they punish our every error. Unless it's consistent foot on the throat stuff like we saw in the Asia Cup match, I'm not sure we can beat 'em. :inti

Also, we seem to be playing more often lately.

The rivalry has been resurrected just like Undertaker's comeback as the Deadman at Wrestlemania XX

Joke is on you mate....nothing to Hahaha about. Indian media has all the right to boast considering the below record:

1992 - Sydney
1996 - Bangalore
1999 - Manchester
2003 - Centurion
2007 - Durban
2007 - Centurion
2011 - Mohali
2012 - Colombo
2013 - Edgbaston
2014 - Dhaka
2015 - Adelaide
2016 - Kolkata
2019 - Manchester

Don't think any major rivalry has this kind of one sided domination in world cups.

If Pakistani fans can still rejoice for win in 1 game, how can you blame Indians for celebrating 13?
Point ... but Outside of world cups Pakistan has always dominated India. Tha is why India only plays ICC tournaments with Pakistan Now. Ha ha.

Pakistan is lucky to be not playing cricket regularly with India. The kind of overhyped players you have, India would have surpassed that H2H record long time ago

oh yar keep the moral high otherwise i also know whats going to happen :D
In world cup 2023 the moral was so high despite my constant pleads that Pakistan were going to get thrashed due to clear gaps. Granted I didn't think they'd collapse to such an extent, the poor bowling was a shock.

This world cup, I'm suprised to find out many are still peddling the narrative of Pakistan is a great tournament team.

It'll be a group stage exit. India is a guarantee loss and ik for a fact Pakistan will fumble atleast 1 out of 3 games from USA/ Ireland/ Canada.

But the thing is, whenever you keep no expectations from the Pakistan team they always surprise you. So let's hope for a miracle.

and No worries King ker lay ga :hasan2 lol

Oh my god bro, this myth needs to stop. The only time we managed to fluke something was 2022 wc, we failed the entire tournament bit we managed to

A) get lucky with sa with Dr's Massively supporting us.

B) SA vs Zimbabwe got rained off when sa had literally beaten Zimbabwe. Giving both teams and equal point

C) Nedtherlands pulled a SA upset and Pakistan got lucky with haris a newbie saving them in 2 games. The NZ game was the only game Pakistan played well as NZ is somehow the one team Pakistan manages to beat in wc stages.

1992, 2009 and 2017 were lucky in some instances especially 1992 with the England rain but 1992 had a team of once in a generational talent with ramiz raja being the only weak link once they flunked their way into QF, it wasn't a far fetched idea that they'd win. The bowling was world class and the batting had a very strong middle order.

2009 was the same thing, t20 was new and was adjusting, given the era our team filled was very advanced for that time period granted its outdated now, heck 2 years earlier this team reached the final proving it was a strong t20 side.

2017 had psl superstars with psl being played in the UAE at that time so proper pitches, whereas thanks to trash pindi pitches, the performances are no longer reflective of reality.

Hafeez, malik, imad benefitted greatly from psl and improved alot from uae pitch practise, Hasan ali, Amir and jumaid were much better then our current trio. Hasan and Amir as well as has beers, and fakhar was in the prime of his life. Azhar is underrated. Azhar is a class test opener who is miles > Imam and these other munafiqs unless you believe stats reflect reality.

Shadab was also suprisngly a good spinner and was only a spinner unlike now where no one knows what he even is or what his role is.

2017 winning was lucky yes and we were not the strongest team but in hindsight if you ignore the no 8 rank, you can see why they won, the middle order, opening and bowling was set even if it wasn't the strongest.

2024 just like 2023 is all over the place in combination, no one has any clue on team structure.

- Middle order bats are batting at no 1 and no 3.
- An unsettled newbie who's on the the of being dropped is the other opener .
- The middle order and lower order does not exist, with shadab being a joke no 5 and chavha being a joke no 6.
- Azam Khan created an imbalance in the team as he forces a wicket keeper to field while being a trash keeper himself.
- The bowling does not exist, 2 has been bowlers (Amir + Hasan), 3 run machines (Hasan, Rauf, Abass afridi) and one bowler who is recovering and just not theor yet (Shaheen), only the spinners imad and avrar are set and they don't even get to bowl 4 overs instead run machine shadab gets that privilege.

This is a minnow team, a trash unit that would lose 5-0 to 2017 team regardless if it was test, odi or t20.

Without any "Mauka Mauka" ads this World Cup has been quite boring for me

Maybe India already knows that Pakistan doesnt have any Mauka this time lol

Mauka mauka ended.

The campaign was for the fact that Pakistan had never beaten India before in a world cup.

That mantra no longer applies in a t20 world cup

India has to wait for the next ODI world cup to make that ad again. Till then it is boring.

Pakistan as usual lost to a minnow in World Cup and will be dangerous for good sides in do or die situation..let's see what's there for India tomorrow..

If Bharat wins the 1st test, Star might bring back the Mauka Mauka ads for the Aussies.
