[VIDEOS] Poor behavior by Pakistan fan towards Sarfaraz Ahmed during WC19 in England [Apology #169]

My advice to the PAK cricket team would just train and keep training. Going out etc wont help them.

What training? They didn't bother before India game when they had a chance to make semis. In fact they should have been working hard on their fitness and overall game two years back. It takes a lot of hard work to be a professionally fit athlete. I doubt fitness is given any importance since our captain himself is so unfit.

Extremely poor behavior from fans. Irrespective of whether there is a kid involved or not they should not be abusing anyone.

Body shaming is another thing. All of us agree body shaming is ugly and no one should indulge in that. But these guys make millions and are professional athletes. Diet and maintaining fitness is completely within their control and basic expectations. Although they should not be abused for the same, they should not be playing professional cricket without adhering to basic fitness requirements. Especially not the captain who is supposed to set standards and lead from front. Extremely pathetic as far as fitness from Sarfarz. I don't blame Imad and others. If the captain himself is excused for poor fitness along with poor skillet, why would a player who performed here and there worry about it.

Two people who come across as big hypocrites in Pakistan cricket are Inzy and Micky. It is Inzamam job to select the right players considering all aspects including fitness. He failed doing that for whatever reason. Micky Arthur seems to be just going along with the flow and has no say in these matters. If he wants to be recognized as a coach with ability to make difference he needs to stand up against poor fitness among this team members.

I've seen those videos, only a few which doesn't warrant pointing out Pakistan fans but you have clarified.

Would you agree 99% of the fans who have paid good money to attend games and have witnessed lazy, overwieght cricketers with little determination have shown their class and walked home without giving those senstiive cricketers abuse?

I mentioned 'fans' as in the fans abusing, not the whole fanbase (who we're all a part of).

I know plenty of fans who have been very classy, and I know a few who have been to the ground, have supported their team and will continue to do so regardless of the results.

Regardless of that, it doesn't mean that the ones running their mouths shouldn't be called out.

Why don't you post a picture of your perfectly chiseled six pack and let us judge you like you are justifying that pig's actions.

I don’t get paid millions to play a professional sport.

And when I was overweight, I had the discipline to lose thirty-five pounds in three months time.

lol, i can understand why fans are reacting like this. Honestly, I think this team deserves that, for the performance it showed in ground. It's just the opposite of them getting love for good performance. With bodies like such and so unfit, these players should be lucky they are even playing cricket, because if it were any other country, they would have rested such lot.

Time to test young blood, as suggested by Nasser. Time to persist even if it costs us matches. We need young fearless cricketers, not the sponsored, promos, with half developed technique and lazy bodies

Wouldnt be surprised if they get hit by fans, as that's how the love and hate is among the fans. It may not be right, but get used to it. Thats the reality. Play good or face the music ;)

no one deserves public abuse. we are not living in dark ages anymore. there should be consequences for poor fitness and attitude. It is up to their employer, PCB, to deal with it. We as fans should criticize their fitness and performance but in a way that is acceptable to the overall society.

Absolutely Disgusting behavior from that rubbish and idiot boy
Just look at his mouth he is an unable to control his own mouth

Being overweight nobody is contesting. You are justifying someone calling him a pig infront of his kid. Only shows your own upbringing, maybe before you lost your weight your family members also used to call you the same.

Honesty..our fans deserve such performances from al our sports teams. I’ve never seen such biased and literally dumb fans and followers in my life. The IQ level of our people is downright pathetic..,this includes journalists as well.

No, not really.

Every overweight person knows he or she is overweight but does not like to hear it.

His kid is two years old so he probably won’t even remember this episode. He has no fault but Sarfaraz should know that when a team loses and the emotions are high, it is advisable to keep your family as far as possible from the public.

It’s not that Sarfaraz is overweight but the fact that his fitness has declined ever since he was given responsibility.

If you cannot even commit to improving yourself, why should you garner any support when someone calls you out on it?

This is absolutely disgusting. If I was Sarfraz I would probably have punched his lights out.

Not endorsing the fan's action but the gravity of Sarfraz's failures will sink in him. And future captains Babar, Imam, Imad whoever it is, will understand how ugly it can get if you take things for granted.

Captaining your national team at highest level and then you carry such poor fitness standards and then you lose key games and start yawning in the middle of game against your arch rivals, fans have every right to dish these players. Though language should have been better but this team especially our leader is really mediocre.

Also it's fault of PCB. How can they allow their captain to carry such big belly going into such a big tournament. His performances and on field show off have also been horrible. Sarfraz has not helped himself with the way he has carried himself ever since he became captain.

If someone has a big belly then you will call him swine?

A few fans will run their mouth in every sport, this is normal and expected, not sure why anyone is surprised and feels the need to point this out.

What a turnaround , I remember someone calling Inzy aloo and he went into the stands to confront the fan.
Now Pakistanis themselves are abusing their own players.
This is terrible especially when his poor kid has to listen to his father being abused.
Shameful behavior.

Absolutely disgusted, sad, angry and shocked at this video.

No human being should be subjected to this, especially when enjoying time with their child.

Absolutely Jaahil and trash of a human being who did this.

Clearly his parents have failed in raising this Jaahil of a human being.

And NO, Pakistani UK fans are not the best Pakistan cricket team supporters in the world. Many of them are jaahil, uncouth and disgusting.

Do not forget the Jaahil Pakistani fans in the 2001 England series. Nothing has changed.

My full support for Sarfraz. No human being should ever experience this.

Every thing has a time and place. The same action could be welcoming or disgusting depending upon these two factors. If you have failed to grasp it, then I don't think you will be able to comprehend the different roles of life.

Kaise insaan ho yaar!! Do you realize that you are justifying harassment??

Well diagracefull and unacceptabel performance. I can understand The fans. These fans are paying for Them and their not sincere with their work just want to eat and chill around. 200 million watching these matches and their do not care.

Shameful behavior.

That’s exactly where my mind as well to Inzi’s incident which happened in Canada that too, Canada is best place for india Pak matches.. :P

I don’t agree that he should have done it with the kid present but Sarfaraz bears the responsibility for putting himself in that position.

Disgraceful.

Everyone is gutted by our performances - I get that - but Ive always liked Sarfaraz beacuse has delivered one of the proudest moments for me as a Pak fan.

I get the frustration - Im still fuming but this is disgusting.

Kaise insaan ho yaar!! Do you realize that you are justifying harassment??

No regular human being deserves this but Sarfaraz is a public figure.

That comes with extraordinary adulation and criticism and he is well aware of this.

No justification for this whatsoever No matter what u think of his performance or his fitness levels Harrassing him in public and calling him fat and a pig is shameful esp when hes out with his kid Some people need to grow up and start behaving like adults

Well done to him for walking away as many wouldve been tempted to confront this idiot with violence

May i add the majority of fans arent like this individul, 10s of thousands of pakistan fans will be attending this summer and only a minority behave in this despicable manner

No one deserves this for losing a game of cricket. Please try to understand this. He didnt kill anyone.

Some of the people in here justifying his actions are utter morons, for a multitude of reasons.

1. Having a bit of a belly doesn't necessarily mean you are unfit. Has Sarfraz ever looked unfit whilst running in between the wickets? Nope, he's one of our best runners. Has he ever looked out of shape as a wicketkeeper in terms of covering ground or reflexes? Again nope. Your body fat level had
S nothing to do with your fitness. Look at the Andy Ruiz vs Joshua fight recently. Who was the one who looked shattered after a few rounds? Or look at footballers like Lampard (nicknamed Fat Lamps at his peak) or Luke Shaw, both have been criticized for their appearance yet at the same time were/are 2 of the fittest in their teams in terms of sprints and distance covered. To sum up, low body fat does nor necessarily mean you are fitter. A belly doesn't necessarily mean you are unfit.

2. The same guy led us to a Champion Trophy win only 2 years ago. With the same belly, with the same level of fitness.

3. Lastly, it's a bloody sport. A game. Don't give it more weight than it deserves. And definitely don't abuse a grown man with his child because of it.

You justify big fat belly of Sarfraz the leader of Pakistan national team the only unfit player playing in this world cup?

His language was pathetic but at least this will tell PCB to check on their captain next time.

Sarfraz isn't the fattest person in the team

Have a look at Harris Sohail

Just saying

The post videos added in this thread do not use derogatory language. Words such as *Lanaat* or *P4rchi* do not hold a candle to the word *Sewer* used in the video in the OP.

I am not convinced the kid in the OP video is a Pakistani. More like a trojan horse who is pretending to be a Pakistani so he can get a free ticket to insulting Pakistanis - we've seen quite a few members on PP as it is. Also notice how Sarfraz swiftly moves on as soon as the video commences.

However, assuming the kid is Pakistani, he deserves to be skinned alive and join the annals of Mini Mamoons'; Sham Patriots.

Disappointment is understanble We are all frustrated and disappointes but abuse isnt on no matter what

yeah, pcb can't deal with it, as it has shown with selection of unfit players and no care for fitness or diet

Was the pun intended?

Seriously wrong behavior. I just met him in the hotel lobby in the morning, doesn’t look fat or unfit. Everyone has a diff body structure.

Pathetic. What's sad is that a majority of our ex-cricketers behave this way too! Holy crap they are entertainers - your livelihood doesn't depend on them unless you're dumb enough to gamble on them!

And these SAME guys will celebrate when they win - how does that work??

I'm really disappointing with Shoaib Akhtar right now as well. He's an "enabler" of this kind of behavior by using his platform to fat-shame Sarfaraz in the middle of the WC he's basically given a thumbs up to this kind of behavior from other fans. As if Shoaib himself was fit throughout his entire career - such **

They only say the 'P' word to Imam to wind him up.

In reality everyone knows that Imam has done enough to deserve his place in the ODI side for the next few series.

Every sport has its share of wild, arrogant and stupid fans. However I won't put the blame squarely on the ones blaming Sarfraz. Yea he is the captain and has to take the fall for the team but his yawn and teh poor show put up by rest of his team bar one was subpar.

There is no shame in loosing if you put your best foot forward and given it all you had. However llooking at the game, it was obvious that the team wasn't playing as a "team". Fans deserve a good game and I bet some of them had probably spent a good chunk of money and time to be at the game.

However no player deserves to be insulted either. So yeah, maybe some of them did go overboard but I am hoping this negative reinfoircement will be an incentive for the Pakistan team to perform better in their next games

Some disgusting posts on here defending the behaviour of these individuals.

Sarfraz is a human being who is doing his job, now if he fails at his job proper authorities will remove him, where does body shaming and personal insults come into it ?

Imagine U are on your day off with the family and a client hurls abuses at U for your work mistakes.

Any person in this thread remotely justifying it , should be ashamed hundred fold.

It doesn't matter how angry or frustrated you are, there is absolutely no reason to abuse the players.

This is disgusting viewing.

This is disgracefull behaviour. There is a way to tell people and send the message. Inzi would have eaten this guy alive.

Honestly the strict standards shown by Virat has changed the whole mindset and more focus is given to fitness around the world, especial among Asian players. Look at what Jadhav was when he debuted look at what he looks like now.

People need to understand that it's not easy thing to do, but it has become a must requirement for any sportsperson be it cricket or any sport.

This kind of behaviour should never be tolerated. No matter how frustrtated you are, this kind of joke is not a joke, it's a filth.

Appalling behaviours from pak fans here..

At the end of the day sarfaraz is only human. I dont care if they r making fun of him being fat. Too many snowflakes here talking about fat shamming.
EAT BETTER.
He has the resources to be fit.

The problem here is, he is with his family. Leave him alone.

People really needs to stop crying over fat shaming. It is a personal choice to be unhealthy, over weight, and fat.
Make better choices. Stop being mentally weak.

What is wrong here is that, this so called fan is abusing safi infront of his family which is wrong. He has his kid with him. In a mall with his family.

But at the end of the day what did sarfaraz expect for to happen if he went out?

No justifying the fans behaviour. It was poor in taste.

Pcb is a failed organization.

Some guys here are saying they would have punched him pinched him etc etc lol... In reality any kind of reaction to such comments would make this a bigger issue getting more negative coverage and may lead to even more such provocative incidents. But Sarfraz handled it pretty well. He handled it like a responsible leader. Well done.

Edit: those thugs should be arrested and put in jail for using provocative language.

Maaaan
Stop it, you are making a fool outta yourself.

What the hell does it mean put himself in that position?????

You can sack him, kick him out of team, heck even ban him from playing cricket for his performance, but how can that guy abuse him in front of his 2-3 year old kid and then have the balls to post it online, only a piece of **** can do such things, and you here justifying that man's action are bringing disgrace not only to yourself but to your upbringing as well.

It's just a game fgs. You don't disrespect a national servant especially when they're with their kid. This is just sad.
Sarfaraz deserves more respect than this.

You can bring in my upbringing as much as you want (not that it has the remotest connection with what I said anyways) but it doesn’t change my opinion.

Pakistani and sports fans are fickle in general. If the same Sarfaraz had won against India, there would be threads stating, “Is fitness even required in today’s game”? But since he lost, all the attention has gone towards an aspect that is a basic job requirement of his profession. Which he has been lacking and declining in since he became captain.

A cricket captain is not just another sportsman in Pakistan but an ambassador of the board and country. He will be subject to intense media provocation as would the other players.

Knowing that he would face abuse from all sides, he decides to take a child with him into the public spotlight. If you do so, be prepared to receive abuse. Whether one deserves it or not, you cannot control the circumstances if you put yourself in that position.

I dont think people understand.

We are not a professionally run organization. We are not a professionally run team.

Pakistan is a corrupt country. Do you think PCB is not?
Do you think the best players are actually playing for the team?

Pcb is riled with corruption. We have 60 year old execs who do absoulutly nothing.

Our domestic is corrupt and has a cocaine problem among players.

What do fans expect? What do pakistanis expect?

Same problem for over 20 years. Nothing has changed, nothing will change untill the people themselves dont change.

This is y i personally put no emotion into sports. Its entertainment. Not life.

Completely agree.

Nawaz Sharif and his Noon league have ruined PCB through corruption over last 30 years.

Please share the video of this guy online and troll him.

Only a pathetic human being can make such a comment and FGS there was a child in his arms.

How could one do that without any shame. Very regressive behavior this. Sarfraz was the one who gave these morons a global trophy just 2 years back when no one even believed they can win.

It's always amusing how people sometimes put qualifiers on abuse. Like if Saifi wasn't with his kid, would abusing him be somehow any less disgraceful?

I will be brutally honest here, and I know a lot of the mods/admins on here will not like it but this website has peddled such views for months and years on end. I have lost count on the number of threads about players bodies, weights, diets...many of them populated by opinions of those who run this site.

I am not saying you yourself are responsible for it but many on here are, I would not be surprised if this trolls views were permeated and morphed by social media and sites such as this. We can't be hypocritical about such things. Either stop such threads on here or applaud the man with the camera, you can't hold the higher ground otherwise.

Imagine Kohli in Sarfrazs position having his son in his hands and a random indian dude abuses him i can bet you kohli will put his son down and give the guy a handful of dwsi abuses and couple of slaps..and this is how these pigs should be dealt with..
having said this someone posted a video of abuses being thrown at immad and shadab, you may not agree but it was well deserved.
after the match immad and shadab were laughing witj pandya and co as if they were playing a friendly match.. those abuses were well deserved

I guess for some doing this is a quick way to be famous and become popular with their friends.

Criticism and abuse are two different things.

I don't think i can change your view so let's cut it short here.

You are clearly not understanding the magnitude of what that guy has done. I never wanted to say this and i hope it never ever happens with you, but just imagine you are chilling or shopping with your 2 year old kid in a mall and suddenly some random guy says stuff like this, believe me you are gonna break his jaws for that.

We should actually appreciate Sarfaraz for keeping his cool here.

That's it from me, thanks and hope you ponder abt this stuff and stop hating

I would love to meet Sarfaraz in these days.
Give him a proper pep talk. This tournament is NOT over for us yet. Sod the media crap. Just go out there and fight like your life depends on it

That's the kind of stuff I would be saying. This guy in the vid is a wastebag!

so you think India/BCCI ain't corrupt

Clearly not to extent pakistan is...

U must be blind.

India is one of the next superpowers of the world.
Pakistan is not

India actually invests in sports and promotes them
Pakistan does not.

India have a legit entertainment industry
Pakistan does not.

Every country has corruption to a cetain extent.

It's not that. I'm pretty sure if Sarfraz's kid wasn't there then he probably would've said something. That's what makes it worse.

He couldn't. Either way he couldn't. It would just create more embarrassment for Sarfraz, the team and the PCB; and Sarfraz knows it (or at east i hope he does).

I’m not hating and neither am I supporting the camera man’s view.

But I would never have this type of criticism because I’m not a public figure.

All I’m saying is that Sarfaraz knew the risk of scrutiny his family would face and decided it would be safe to do so anyways.

That still doesn’t make it okay to abuse him in front of his kid but I can’t defend his actions for taking his kid out when he knows the hate is strong due to the recent defeat.

Sarfaraz’s fitness is something he can control and as the captain of a national cricket team, he should be scrutinized if he fails to meet it.

This is absolutely disgusting and hard to watch. Although what he is saying is true, abusing someone representing your country like that, especially when they're with their child, is as scummy as it gets. I hope social media can help identify that **** bag.
