He is yet to make his T20 debut but has been really good in the PSL so far. Yesterday against IU, he dismissed two of their top-order batsmen and should have had more wickets if not for drops. Later, he came back at the death and delivered some pinpoint yorkers.

Should he be a part of the squad for the World Cup in Australia?

Last month I didn't believe he should be there, but his performances combined with Amir being pretty toothless have convinced me. He needs to be in the squad at least.

No. Too many injury risks involved. I would rather have Pakistan lose this world cup than give Naseem a career threatening injury at this stage when he has so much potential. He's already showed back niggles still haunt him every 3-4 games. Let his back muscles develop and then begin playing him. By the time of the 2021 T20 WC, he will be ready.

I think it depends on how he goes in the England tour (hopefully) and if he remains fit . . Obivously in this time, he needs to be working on his fitness as well . .

If he does hold up well, then absolutely . . I feel its getting harder and harder for Amir to get a spot purely on merit . .

Shaheen, Hasnain, Naseem, Wahab are all ahead . . I am not too convinced on Haris but he has done well in Australia . .

That was a lame shot by Ronchi.

4 overs for 48!

Absolutely smashed today - hope he's learnt some lessons here.

Don’t destroy him playing in t-20 , moreover his bowling lengths do not suit this format at the moment . He bowls many ‘hit me’ length type balls every over, this problem needs to be sorted out.

No I don't think so.

Also I hope Quetta use him carefully and consider his future, rather than just think about their own gain.

He should really only play no more than half of the PSL matches.

Naseem
Shaheen
Hasnain

These guys should be protected and nurtured for Tests + ODIs.

T20 leagues will hurt them. But, World T20 is quite a big stage, maybe they can play there if in form.

I don't think he merits a spot just yet but it would be a wonderful experience for him to be part of the WC squad and absorb it all. Definetly needs to develop a slower one, variation is very important. Pace will eventually be picked apart. Shaheen-Amir and Haris Rauf take three spots --- between Hasan/Hasnain/Naseem/Wahab for the 4th.

No. He should play tests for now. He can start in ODIs starting next summer (2021) in England. He should stay away from T20Is for 5 years at least.

He isn't ready for T20Is yet. A lot of work required on building consistency.
Hasnain is the better T20 bowler right now and should start along with Haris and Shaheen.

Naseem should not play any T20 other than PSL, He should not be considered for T20 WC. He is a rare talent who can serve Pakistan for 15 years, if his work load is managed carefully. His early involvement in T20 will make him a defensive bowler, he will be more interested in RR and not in taking wickets.

His performances in PSL will dictate whether is he is needed or not

Yes I included him in my Pakistan sqaud for world t20 way before and he should have a go, I get that he is young but this can be a great experience to play in a World Cup cup and see what he can do

Pakistan doesn't have realistic chance to qualify for test championship final at best we will finish 4th .So what is left to get best out of naseem at bigger stage i guess the answer is t20 world cup .He will be deadly against the likes of sl,bd,Afghanistan, westindies etc while who knows he might click against one of favourites eng, aus, india,nz which will be bonus .

Pcb won't look after his financial constraints so i am not sure what will benefit him by not playing t20i

5 years? He could be finished in 5 years with a stress fracture for all we know. :91:

He had a bad day yesterday, but no one should be judged on one game. Perhaps he isn't ready yet though, he did bowl quite badly. If he continues to be erratic in his next few games then perhaps he should be left out for now.

Shouldn’t be selected in any format at the moment.

Why not in tests?

Which better bowler would you like to play above him

He’s not a T20 bowler atm he got smashed even in National T20s. I think his career should follow steyn’s route focus on tests for now and limited overs can come letter

He should be selected but only play if Hasnain get injury, T20 Fast bowling squad should be Amir, Shaheen, Hasnain,Naseem and Haris Rauf.

I fink he will be more useful on austrlian conditions but I would go with rauf, shaheen, amir
Then either husnain,hassan,wahab,shaheen

Dont play fake all rounders eg ashraf

Not saying because I think he`s bad, it`s quite the opposite. He has the potential to be very good, so he should be kept for the important formats.

t20 is the format where the extra pace makes the most difference imo. Batsmen are are more prone to error with less time to react given they are forced to hit in this game. Naseem is young but he's got the right skillset for this and has already impressed in Australia.

Top stuff today. 4-0-17-2 and really good average pace.

Just needs to keep working on his fitness.

InshaAllah he's secured his place. Consistent exposure in top level cricket should be good for his development and he shown he deserves a go.

One interesting to think about is that both Naseem and Shaheen are number 11's. This means we need someone who can bat a bit at 9 and thus makes Wahab and Amir's stronger cases for selection in the final XI.

My first choice bowlers would be:

Shaheen
Hasnain
Amir
Shadab
& Gohar

There is room for maybe 1 more bowler and 1 all rounder....Shah isn't really a lock down because he hasn't been all that good in T20s. So could that other bowler be another spinner? Or could it be Hasan Ali instead of Naseem Shah?

The saddest thing would be seeing Malik and Hafeez get into the side on their crutches lol leaving out Gohar again.

oops fellas! Rauf could and should still be included. I know he hasnt had the best of it this season but he was very good in the last PSL and in the Big Bash down under. Those pitches probably suit Rauf more.

I would rather Naseem than Hasnain who has no line or length.

Bowling lineup should be

Naseem
Amir
Shaheen
Ammad Butt
Shadab
Zafar Gohar

Absolutely

Showed a lot of heart when he toured Australia for the test series.

Besides, he's clearly better than other contenders like Rauf, Musa, and Wahab,
