What's new

"Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson and Joe Root all got a lot of support unlike me" : Ahmed Shehzad

not really

he played 2 tests in SL and he failed in both and showed big technical weakness to prasad so he was dropped. Shan played next match and scored that amazing 4th inning century so he got a chance to play next 2-3 matches.

i would say after his struggle against anderson in uae, shehzad maybe deserved a recall but problem is he doesnt help himself and acts as if some conspiracy going against him. and obv when he barged into wt20 squad due to afridi and then failed spectacularly, his fortunes changed.

his test ouster was harsh. But in LOI he played prolly 25-30 games too many. And even in tests his game is such that its almost certain that he would have failed in england. Sami did ok. Also he had been conspiring against teammates on social media for a while (Wahab, waqar, azhar)

So combine his at best incosistent performance with his terrible discipline, i am sure team management feels hes not worth the trouble

Shehzad was playing to third test vs sri lanka he was out in the first over in the fourth inning:ahmed

I usually avoid his threads except the article but lol did someone read this:

"With Quetta Gladiators we were underdogs. Credit goes to team management. They had given a free hand. If players wanted practise, there would be practise and if they didn't want to practise, there was no practise."

----------------
"Our bowlers need to learn to win matches single handedly on such pitches. Look at what Wasim Akram or Shoaib bhai would have done on the pitches in NZ."

These are the gems I was referring to

That will be disastrous. Sami has many issues but he is well ahead of Shehzad as a Test opener.

The application that Sami has shown in difficult conditions is well beyond Shehzad's capability. In ODIs though, Sami is a clone of Shehzad.

I like Sami but he needs a big score or two to keep the faith of the management.

Sorry, just saw sad tbh,I know everyone posts that they don't expect him to improve but surely everyone somewhere thinks he would learn what he is doing wrong and improve his attitude and try to get back in the team.
But looks like coz PSL his aim has also become smaller.

Even though Misbah doesn't show it, he always supports players, but being their captain Misbah is in the best position to judge the player's potential, and if he can improve or not..

Misbah might not be directly involved but he might have given his opinion on Shehzad and Akmal as players who have little insight in their short comings and are not willing to improve upon their mistakes.. basically the Afridi school of thought..

If you compare them to AA and Shafiq, both of them are limited but more hardworking than the former

i dont understand why pakistani media pays so attention to him
calling him for interviews and all
this guy is a curse

He is, as they say, one of the few "superstars" in Pakistan cricket. Not sure how they figured this out.

"If you look at Kohli, Williamson and Root, you see that they all got a lot of support unlike me. After equal matches, all of us were neck to neck. So I am very disappointed when I see others doing wonders for their country and I am still fighting for my place for God knows what reason."

Kohli, Williamson and Root despite having lot of support unlike Shahzad still couldn't play an innings like that. Well done Shezzy :14::shezzy

Hmm funny he didn't mention Smith easily the best batsmen unless he doesn't care about tests?

Kohli or Williamson can't even dream of playing the kind of innings Shehzad played today. In fact don't think many batsman can bat like Shehzad did today.

He is a king of his own imaginery world. He is nowhere near even Babar Azam let alone Kohli, smith, root or williamson. Babar Azam is the next big thing from Pakistan currently.

:))) :)))

In which world he lives ? Even the likes of Imran Nazir and Afridi could produce an inning of substance after 5-7 innings. But not even once in a blue moon from him. So, consistent with his mediocrity.

What a shameless person. If you play well the team would support you more, not less. Non performers don't deserve anything
