New Zealand have the advantage, but India have a chance if they can get set more than 150 to chase.

I think game will be finished today. NZ should win but India can make things interesting.

I still don’t think anyone’s in the driving seat. Such an awesome sea saw test match. Love it

India need 100 more runs to make it tricky for NZ. They can even win with 150 target but NZ will have to self destruct for that. If India can add 150 more, they will be favorites

Boult is in red hot mode. Don’t see India scoring past 150 on this

India is 6 down. This test match is as good as gone. Last 4 wickets may add 30-40 runs, but NZ should be able to chase 150 odd runs because India is missing Ishant.

Don't think we'll be seeing anything dramatic from India today. The gulf in class between the teams has been very apparent since the ODI series.

It's going to take a gargantuan individual effort from someone in the Indian team to cause an upset now.

Rooting for NZ to wrap this match quickly.I will be very disappointed if NZ lose from such a strong position.

Yes with 150 to chase NZ would be favorites no doubt but if India can take it near 200 then it won’t be easy given the pitch

India still have Vihari, Pant and Jadeja so difficult but it takes one decent partnership of 70-80 and 200-220 could be realizable

That’s why this is a great test match

My money is on NZ to win it - losing how many wickets will depend on the sun light situation. On a bright sunny day, Kiwis shouldn't lose more than 4.

If IND is to win, they'll need to get NZ 4 down before reaching 60.

Yeah if India can get into lower middle order early things can get tricky for NZ

How many times, Indian top seven has got out to an absolute trash ball/shot in this series?

Haha Ind is definitely not winning this....getting out glancing on a crap legside delivery...nothing going right for them

Is Pant a meme cricketer.

Did he win some make a wish award that got him into the team?

He's like 16/4 this game

Reminder India had the best of these conditions on day 2.

At this stage this Test is IDENTICAL to the 1992-93 Test in which Pakistan set New Zealand just 127 to win.

The difference in my opinion is that Wasim and Waqar were good enough to then bowl NZ all out for 93, to win by 23 runs.

This is really the ultimate test for India’s claims to greatness: are Shami and Bumrah really in the same class as the Pakistani quicks of 27 years ago? Or is it just wishful thinking?

In the next four hours we are going to find out!

Jadeja needs to keep strike and look to get some boundaries , 20 - 25 quick runs can be very interesting.

So, you sort of have to ask the question, would any members of this Greatest Ever Indian Team be good enough to get into the 2019-20 New Zealand team?

same thing would happen to n.z in n.z. Atleast we fought hard in This test. Make no mistake about it. All ATG teams would lose to this india in India.

they did lose 3 0 last time they toured vs a far weaker india.

India are good but n.z are better in their conditions. Toss dint help either.

pant should hang his head in shame. Bury himself and quit cricket for a while. Seek.mental help. mental and physical midget.

vihari how can you be so useless?

don't forget india team of 2003 have been bowled out for 100 here as well vs weaker n.z teams.

I

Bumrah was desperate to not get the strike in the next over

132 to win for NZ.

It should be a tricky chase but NZ should back themselves to wrap this up.

Indian batters made stupid mistakes in both innings.
Otherwise india would have been way ahead in this test

So out of the 4 wickets to fall only a single one earned by the bowler...sure the Vihari one was unlucky, but for the rest Ind tail should be ashamed, where was the fight?

Heavy roller on the pitch by the looks of it

Kiwis have asked for heavy roller. It will be tricky chase , a couple of cameos of 25 - 30 runs will ease some pressure.

I’m expecting NZ to chase this with no loss of wickets

It starts with the senior players. When they play like noobs, bad luck will follow the team too.

This is why I rate Steve smith higher than Kohli. Smith would have battled to score a 50 in these conditions. Not give up like Kohli.

Kiwis should go after the ball - every boundary will drain Indian spirit. Only way such targets are missed is stagnated scorecard and that tricky track hunts batsmen one by one. I believe in 1981, at MCG IND did defend 125 ish target.

I would have opened with Shami rather than Yadav because something extreme is needed and not sure if Yadav has the ability

Time for Easwaran or Panchal to be selected in place of the overrated Shaw.

kiwis got the advantage wirh the toss. I thought it dint matter but toss does matter.

It is no-doubt true that absolutely no one wins away test matches without winning the toss, especially on a surface such as this.

But let's be honest, IND would have still messed this up if they were in NZ situation right now

Shaw wasn't ready for Test cricket after coming back from the ban but India forced him and neglected hard-working players like Easwaran and Panchal.

Not true, actually.

This Test is a clone of NZ v Pakistan at Hamilton in 1992-93.

NZ won the toss and elected to bowl.

Pakistan 216
New Zealand 264
Pakistan 174
New Zealand required 127 to win, reached
65-3 then collapsed to 93 all out

Wasim Akram 5-45
Waqar Younis 5-22

This Test today is basically identical. Right down to the overcast conditions.

The question is whether India has the skill, nerve and courage to win from this situation like Pakistan did. Or whether they aren’t as good as that Pakistan side was. Today will answer that question.

That, incidentally, marked the final part of Pakistan’s seven year period in which they had lost just one Test series (1-0 in Australia)..

Four months later, the West Indies ended that proud period.

alright bro. You made your point. lol. we should have picked gill or someone else. Shaw needs to develop a lot more.

Indians always find an excuse for their loss. I remember after WC SF lose to NZ, Indians were like there should be playoff system in the WC and now this toss crap lmao. Just accept the imminent defeat and India is still in the match, they haven't lost it.

Mate, Yadav is not rattling anyone...Indians claim their new found bowling prowess and yet have someone like a Yadav as a 4th choice seamer...doesn't add up!

the same yadav will rattle australia and all Sena countries in India. Yadav is a weird one.
