Virat Kohli - The Mega Discussion

:)) Forgot this. That's how decorated Kohli has been, to the point where you tend to not keep track anymore.

And then you have some coming in and trying to feast on a dip :jimmy

Guess how many ICC awards Kohli won in 2018?

Some people are hyping up Babur, who has a test avg of 42, as if he is Tendulkar,Lara,Ponting rolled in one.

Actually it's one of your countrymen who brought Babar in the discussion.

My comment was that Kohli tuked tuked himself another fifty. And that's what he did and is doing for some time in ODI'S now.

Babar has nothing on Kohli. He is yet to establish himself in test matches. He is a very good white ball player and also developing into a good captain. His issues in playing spin need to be sorted and quick.

Issues playing spin - well that sounds good for Kohli also.

Kohli, so far is on another level as a player compared to Babar.

But currently Babar is better than Kohli in every format, against every type of bowling and every pitch.

Again, why bring Babar here to start with? Indians can't take the fact that Kohli isn't playing well. He is tuck tucking 65 balls fifties in ODI's most of the time.

I know but on current form, Faheem Ashraf is a better batter than Inzamam when he was going through a lean patch. Proves nothing.

Pakistanis should chill and let Babar do his thing. Come back in 3-4 years and then do a comparison job.

Since MS Dhoni took the charge of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) again after Ravindra Jadeja stepped down from captaincy, the defending champions have witnessed a turnaround. After Dhoni, who led the franchise to four titles, became the skipper once again, CSK have won two out of their last three matches. They are placed eighth in the table with eight points from 14 matches. Though CSK have a lot of work ahead, they are still in with an outside chance in the race for a playoff spot.

However, the major question is whether the 40-year-old Dhoni is the long-term solution to CSK's leadership puzzle going ahead. Former Pakistan cricket team player Shoaib Akhtar gave an interesting opinion, when asked in an interview about Dhoni's future in the CSK next season, gave an interesting answer.

"Somehow, one gets the feeling if he will be part of the management or not. One never knows with Dhoni. He can do odd things. What a great guy. We all love and respect him for what he has achieved for India. I reckon that he might play for one more season before he calls it a day. Or, he might be part of the management. You need lot of money. But you need to look beyond Dhoni and Virat (Kohli) as a franchise," Akhtar told Sportskeeda Cricket in an interview ahead of CSK-DC match on Sunday.

"As a brand do persist with them. Do attach your emotions and passions with your two stars. But, this is a cruel world. You need to look beyond them. Dhoni has been a great player. He used to give other players chance top of the order, while playing lower down the order himself. But I would like to see Dhoni make a magical comeback."

Dhoni has so far scored 163 runs in 11 matches in the IPL 2022. He has scored a half-century too.

Kohli and Sharma both will score runs but will not have same impact . The issue is the age which all these players write is wrong , they are at least 3 - 4 years older , and now there reflexes are gone .

"Doubt If Kohli Did That": Virender Sehwag's Big Statement On Virat Kohli's Captaincy

Virat Kohli's captaincy era will go down in the history of Indian cricket as one of the most successful across all formats in terms of number of matches won and win percentage. Kohli might have failed to win any big ICC tournament but he infused a 'win at any cost' mentality in the team which showed in the results that his team achieved in bilateral cricket.

But former India opener Virender Sehwag feels that the best captain is the one who builds a new team and, in that respect, he rates former India captain and current BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly higher than others, including Kohli.

"Sourav Ganguly built a new team, brought in new players and backed them through their highs and lows," remembered Sehwag. "I doubt if Kohli did that in his tenure," he added during an exclusive interaction on Home of Heroes, on Sports18.

Sehwag is really a classless individual. Just because you speak your mind, doesn't mean you speak trash every time you open your mouth.

He could have simply praised Ganguly to his heart's content but dissing Kohli wasn't needed especially when he himself never experienced playing under Kohli's captaincy so he knows basically nothing about how Kohli led India during his captaincy tenure.

74 innings without an international century for Virat Kohli. His last hundred was back in November 2019 in a Test match against Bangladesh

Wow. Wonder if he will ever get another one tbh

Virat Kohli has surpassed Rahul Dravid to become 2nd leading run scorer for India in international cricket.

Most runs for India in international cricket:

34357 - Sachin Tendulkar
24078* - Virat Kohli
24064 - Rahul Dravid
18433 - Sourav Ganguly

The greatest player of his generation.

1. Kohli
2. Smith
3. Root
4. Williamson

Kohli did his best to loose the match yesterday with his SR of 130. Was lucky that SKY was in Supreme form on the other end.

U are delusional sir . I am a big Kohli critic but Kohli played perfectly - almost won it till he got out with 5 needed off 4 balls . Most of his strokes were exceptional .

Sky and Kohli are two different batters . Kohli played the tall bounce ballers better while sky used 360 degree .

India is lucky to have rahul , Kohli , sharma and sky as top 4 with pandya and karthick as finishers . Jadeja is a very good no 7 / left handed option with axar being an able replacement .

Bumrah , Arshdeep chahal and bhuvi / patel will be a decent bowling line up ( my preference is bumrah , Arshdeep bishnoi and chahar / Shami .

Bowling will be india weakness . Batting is now the way a top t20 team should bat .

There is no one I'd rather watch but Kohli when he's in form. I think Sam Perry ( The grade cricketer on YT) summed it perfectly by saying " it's all one motion. The momentum of the ball being absorbed into his bat and then the flow of the body and ball becoming one as he hits it"

The ultimate benchmark of anchor :-

To average 50 after 100+ T20I game and strike rate of 137.

Player of series in two World T20s.

Why are you explaining about India's bowling and batting line up to him?
He only comments on pp whenever he sees Kohli failed or his team lost. Today he has another excuse that despite kohli taking India home he did not finish the innings so he comments like kohli nearly lost it!

He has always been clutching at straws to criticize kohli but you will never see him doing this to any of his favourite players like Babar despite him striking at 125 most of the time. According to him, babar is the greatest chaser LoL 😂😂

Kohli will surpass Sanga by the time he retires.:inti

He really looks finished this time, at least in T20I.
Apart from his good for nothing hundred vs Afghanistan he has been tuk tuking from far too long. He is a pretty intelligent cricketer and I am sure he knows it.
He will most probably retire from T20I's after the world cup.

Virat Kohli vs Babar Azam since 2020

Kohli - Avg 47 str rate 139
Babar - Avg 39 str rate 131.

Babar should also retire after this t20 world cup, coz he is tuk tuking far worse than Kohli and that is when Kohli is finished while Babar is at the peak of his powers.

Genius.

Kohli as a batsman is not the same - but he is a good performer against Pakistan -rubbish bowling Pakistan bowlers aus, nz and Så knows how to bowl to him make him fish instead Pak bowler bowl to high strength so he can work the bowl on leg side or play straight
