If we ignore not outs and minnows than Kohli score 49 runs/innings and Villiers 44 runs/innings but Villiers SR is 8 above Kohli.Also Villiers played half decade before Kohli.From 2005 to 2008 global batting average (I am ignoring minnows) of 1 to 5 positions batsman was 36 and SR was 80 but it went to 38 and SR was 87 in 2009-2024 period

I am going to have to say abd wins hands down here too. Even in Ko stages. Check records. Although abd is a choker overall in odi and even in tests in pressure games. Peak to peak I would say abd wins cause he has scored ar a better average in ko stages. Kohli only averaged 29 in ko stages of icc tourneys in odi.

But kohli has won a wc and a champion trophy. That's the only thing and he did overall have a good tournament in odi world cups despite averaging poorly in kos

I would give it to abd though.

Yeah Villiers isn't bug match player.Also Kohli isn't knock out match performer (except few matches). Villiers in your team will play faster rate.So for a long period you want a batsman like AB unlike Kohli who can play best in 2nd innings.I mean not every team can win toss and bat second.
