English professional cricketers of Pakistani heritage, who have previously toured India repeatedly without any problems, are highly unlikely to represent a security threat to the Indian state.
If you followed my posts on Time Pass section for last 10+ years you will know my stance on terrorism and Pakistani security policies.Bhaijaan, India and Pak have trust issues and terror issues.
Pakistani from Pak is given visa for specific occasions so it is easy to keep a check.
Pakistanis from Pakistan overseas have been involved in various terror financing, terror scoping and other criminal-terror activities in India due to which there are additional checks.
why is it so hard to grasp.
How long does it take to a conduct a security check ?![]()
Khalid Latif: Cricketer sentenced over Dutch MP Geert Wilders murder threat - BBC News
It is thought unlikely ex-Pakistan international Khalid Latif will serve any time in jail.www.bbc.com
Pakistani cricketer threatened a Dutch politician. Now I beleive this guy was a presidential candidate too for Netherlands. Don’t care about his politics but need to see if the player coming in has these kind of baggage associated. Cricket is a very small thing in context to national security.
Obviously not all Pakistanis of British origin are terrorists and there is some discrimination here but it is what it is. National security is prime importance.
If they had followed then would have already granted the Visa. Very simpleAnd which bit of this procedure are you claiming (with proof I assume) the ECB haven't followed?

Read the Bashir Visa issue than you'll learn about it .
I don't know what is the exact issue with Mahmood but i know about why Bashir had faced the Visa issue last yearBased on what exactly? If they follow the procedure you've listed it can still take multiple months to get the visa.
I don't know what is the exact issue with Mahmood but i know about why Bashir had faced the Visa issue last year
Bashir visa needed to be stamped in the UK. The ECB sent Shoaib Bashir to the UAE, thinking it would be stamped in a third country.
Not following basic procedures , assuming things and then crying foul is an old English way.

No Bashir was already there in UAE where all the England team players were practicing .Bashir returned to UK once india denied the stamped in the Third country ( UAE)Bashir returned to the UK to get the visa stamped as soon as it was approved. The fact he was in the UAE was irrelevant to how long it took to get the visa approved in the first place.

As i Said they have to follow all the rules and don't assume they will treated as VIP just because they are cricketer. no special favour for pakistan heritage peoples. Soon the ECB understand better for them in the future .
Every year this same problem happens with ECB still they haven't learnt any lession.
Your example of the protocol being broken is a player breaking the rule that requires them to get their visa stamped in London by... travelling to London and getting their visa stamped...? You've literally just demonstrated that the rules were followed to the letter.
The bureaucracy of requiring the visa to be stamped in London is an extra issue but that's a debate for another day.
Why he was already travelled to UAE when his india Visa was not granted by the Indian High commission London?
You're not making any sence now .
ECB wanted Bashir visa to stamped in UAE while GOI india policy has no such policy to stamped in third country. To train with the rest of the team until his visa was approved. What about that doesn't make sense to you...? Where exactly is the protocol that he can't travel abroad whilst waiting for his visa to be approved once his passport has been returned?
ECB wanted Bashir visa to stamped in UAE while GOI india policy has no such policy to stamped in third country.
A completely unsourced claim.
Regardless though, it's irrelevant. The issue is the time taken to get the visas approved, not the time between approval and stamping.
Yes, he literally broke the countries biosecurity laws, which Law has Saqib broken...?
He wasn't denied entry, he was denied the right to permanently immigrate here because there were plenty of local talent better qualified for his position, with the playing experience at a higher level to prove it.
Can you really not see how the examples you've given above are completely different?
That's exactly what they're doing, doesn't mean the racism can't be called out at the same time.
Er... What...? Of course they do. There's literally an entire different visa process for international sportspeople to enable them to be fast tracked through.
Its a known cricketer.
The Indians have no real power in the world apart from cricket so use this to show off their vegetarian muscles. Its embarrassing how this nation is so pathetic, it needs to use Visa powers for English cricketers to get a kick.
India needs to realise not many Pakistanis or those with this background want to visit a 3rd world nation such as India, unless they have family or for sports work.
The extra 'checks' aren't to find out if someone is of Pakistani origin though, they're literally only carried out if people self declare that they're of Pakistani origin.
If the Indian authorities need over a month to check if someone is on a terror watchlist and has criminal convictions then it appears they've only managed to get even more incompetent since then.
These are international cricketers. What do the panjeets expect? Shall he gives his passport to Indian authorities and wait for months? These players travel regularly and need their passports for that.
Indians and their narrow minded stupidity is beyond comprehension
ECB officials are incompetent . Saqib mahmood Visa was already rejected Twice/ thrice by india yet they didn't follow the proper procedures.Pakistan origin players have regularly played IPL. Almost all of them get visas and come and play without issues. How is that arranged?
How does ECB mess up 3 times in 12 months? Incompetence? Colonial hangover?
No compromise to the indian Visa policy just for some random cricketer. Some common sense should be applied in these situations.

Shoaib Bashir, the 20-year-old Somerset off-spinner who made his first-class debut in the summer, has been handed a maiden Test call-up for England’s tour of India in the new year.
Bashir has only 10 first-class wickets to his name but impressed as part of England’s recent training camp in the United Arab Emirates, likewise Lancashire’s Tom Hartley, a left-arm spinner, who has similarly been elevated to the Test setup.
Check this thread all rhe sources is available .
It is not irrelevant because ECB is incompetent while they are already knowing the Visa process they didn't learnt any lesson .
The IPL auction happens 4+ months in advance allowing times for British players of Pakistani origins o go through the racist process in most cases. There are exceptions to that such as Moeen Ali missing games during the IPL in 2022 because of visa delays when he couldn't submit his passport that far in advance.
The ECB haven't messed up.
Only the mega auction happen 3-4 months advance. Annual auctions happen even in February.
IPL teams know the visa process abd follow it. The English team is usually touring in winter months still IPL teams manage the visa.
Shoaib Bashir: Pakistani origin persons need to apply for visa from the country their passport is from. Yet ECB flew Bashir to UAE and tried to get him a visa from Dubai. Nothing to do with time, more to do with ECB messing up.
Rehan Ahmed: He had a single entry Indian visa. Yet the English team travelled to UAE between 2nd and third test. Rehan was stopped at the airport on return as it was a single entry visa.
Now this Saqib
Oh btw if you think you will play the racism card and Indians will get scared or something, you are wrong.
They're discriminating between people of the same citizenship based on where their grandparents were born, it's textbook racism, there's no card to play.
