WAHAB has some good pace and and can reverse it .on the other hand SHAMI can do it as well.
SHAMI can move the new ball while WAhab lacks it.

I think this is one of the saner comparions at PP. If Wahab was Indian, he would have been their best pacer (probably the only one who can bowl at pace) . Just says a lot about the gulf in bowling between the 2 sides.

Bro, Indian pace attack may be inferior to Pakistans but not by that much. Forget Shami, Umesh Yadav is much better than Wahab.

Both have played same amount of tests and Shami has a better record till now. The other fact is that Wahab Riaz will never play another test for Pakistan while Shami will. Better SR and Average at the moment to Shami. Shami can bowl 140-145 consistently and swing the ball at that pace. If he remains fit, he is India's best bowler in ODI's and Tests. Not a good comparison even though I agree that Pakistan produces much better pacers to India, Wahab is not one of them. Even Bhuvi has better average and SR compared to Wahab in tests. The only bowler Wahab can claim to be better than is Umesh Yadav at the moment.

stats in tests are not that different.in odi shami is far far better but here we are discussing test cricket.

Shami's test avg of 30.32 is better than Amir's 32.87 let alone Riaz's 33.53.

There have 2 matches at Kolkata which are good for pacers, otherwise it's either spinner friendly or flat pitch. How were pitches in England series good for pacers? India scored 500-700 for fun.

bro u areconsidering it wrong.bhuvi is fantastic swing bowler when conditions offer some help otherwise he is not worthy for selection and india rightly do it,UAE does not suit his bowling,not taking any credit away from his exploits on in helpful conditions.WAHAB and SHAMI comparison has been made for a reason that both can take the conditions out of equation.

Shami was meant to become the best modern day pacer from Asia, but injuries have ruined him. And am afraid after one or two full series, he is going to be injured again.

Shami was out for 18months with a knee surgery.Once that happens it takes many months for your bowling muscles to again build up to the required strength and till then you will keep getting minor injuries.Gym is no substitute for hours and hours of bowling.

I have hope that by mid 2018 Shami will be back to his best.

Wahab during his India 2011, Sa 2015 and aus 2015 is leaps and bounds ahead of any bowler in tournaments minus bumrah.

Shami is superior to wahab overall though. Those 3 performances are once in a blue moon, he didnt do that consistently through his career.

Siraj in the absence of Bumrah carried the burden for India. To be fair he was striking with new ball every time he bowled. That is how he got to world no.2 ranking. His 6 wicket haul in Asia cup final made sure he is going to be in the starting XI. Shami was not in scheme of things for a while. But in Indian conditions Shami is a must. I don't want Siraj dropped. But i wanted Thakur dropped. Thakur is there only for his marginally better batting skills.

Agreed.. team is in perfect balance. When panda comes back.. I would prefer iyer to be dropped but I am sure management will drop sky

It will be shame if a person of his calibre can't win the world cup. Shami deserves one. If my Pakistani team can't win, I would much rather see another Asian team win. Shami and rohit deserve one for being as good as they have been. Just need to get over the final hurdler for rohit and kohli.
