It's the price you pay for having a side packed with batsmen. Only Rao Iftikhar can be considered a tailender.

I somehow doubt Pakistan is thinking of containing and restricting the total. They are trying to give everyone a chance to bowl. Its the only reason Razzak has only bowled 4 whereas someone like Misbah has also bowled 4 overs.

I think we will be chasing around 350.

We are sure to get Jamshed and Nazir to open and show what they can do.

Pak pulled back the assault with 3 wkts in last 3 overs giving only 22 runs
 
Fawad did well i hope that means he will play.
Rao should not have been selected in the first place but MYK will realize this now.

Our bowlers were really spanked by Lankans.

I am happy for Rao, wish he had gone for a few more.

how on earth did Razzaq go for 70 off 9 overs when at one stage his figures were 4 overs for 14?!?!
 
I will be shocked if Pakistan get close to this 350 total here!

Ohh Fawad and Afridi in the crease, now this is worth watching... Hopefully theyll win the match with their double century partnership..
 
both openers gone for 0 but rather take that in this match then the first odi

Nazir, Jamshed and Akmal failed.
In other words, all our openers failed.

Let's hope Afridi and Alam can get some batting practice. If Alam scores some runs here, he will surely play even if we have to drop Misbah, Malik or a regular opener.

Not to worry boys, a certain Malinga of the Bandara variety is yet to bowl to Afridi. Now we all know the outcome the last time that happened.

I think Nasir J should be given a decent run...Imran Nazir had been tried and failed on many occassion so i dont see what is this hype all about?

a couple of flashy 4's here and couple there and thats the end of it...

56/4 -- Granpa Misbah in the middle now and playing aggressively, currently 1 off 9.
 
Nazir and Jamshed both fail, both glorified sloggers, the whole lot of them, cant even do anything against a second string attack on a flat pitch,....and where is Younus Khan, the *****. Anyone would think that he NEEDS as much match practice as possible.

If I were in their places now, I would play selfishly and score a hundred at a S/R of 60. The match is lost anyway.
 
ah man i really hate this series, every time i wake up in the morning...check the score and some disaster has happened, and thats it my mood is ruined for the rest of the day/days to come. Cant wait till this series gets lost...

wel you can try to score a 100 at a higher strike rate cause if misbah coes OUT and umar akmal comes in tan anything ca happen as we've seen in astralia

to what end? It's a practice match anyways.

I would say Rao, Rana, Umer Akmal (unless he does something special here) and one of Imran Nazir or Nasir Jamshed.

No. A ave. of less than 25 in 74 ODI's was reason enough for me to question his selection.

FWIW, he can be included in the 20/20 squad which suits his style of batting.
 
Alam doing well, Misbah batting like he has got all the time in the world....as usual.
 
Hoepfully Fawad Alam will get picked for 1st odi with this performance.

I knew pakistan would struggle to even get close to the oppostions total.

Umar Akmal should be given a decent opportunity to perform in this practice match...if he outperforms everyone and we some how win this match...then.....he should be persisted in the ODI Squad along with Alam.

I agree...someone should give instructions for Misbah to retire hurt. :))

Then he can come back later on if need be.
