Commenting on the squad, Courtney Browne, chairman of the CWI selection panel, said: “The selection panel is pleased to announce the same Test squad that toured England to visit Zimbabwe. The dedication, commitment and focus in their preparation and during the series in England showed immense character for such a young team in very difficult conditions against World-class competition. The lessons learnt on that tour augurs well for the individual players and the team’s continued development as a whole and we wish them well on the Tour of Zimbabwe.”

Looking forward to this as Zimbabwe are rejuvenated after their strong Sri Lanka series perfornance and the returns of Taylor and Jarvis.

West Indies are improving, more confident after competing better than most expected in the Tests in England.

This will be a decent series. Brendan Taylor and Kyle Jarvis will be back for the home side and West Indies are improving, have got 2 test wins over Pakistan + a test win over England in the last year.

The batting is decent and has always been Zimbabwe's strength.

The problem is taking 20 wickets even with Kyle Jarvis back to bolster the pace attack. Zimbabwe need to find a couple of quicks who can bowl at 140kph. Chatara would be a regular starter if not for all his injuries.

There's a couple in the domestic scene that are really good. I personally think that losing Meth was a really big blow to Zimbabwe. And the fact that he doesn't even play cricket anymore is even depressing considering Zimbabwe can't even buy him back.

Zimbabwe may rue that First Test as a missed opportunity. They were excellent with the ball and in the field on the first day but the 1st innings batting collapse proved costly. There was some awful shot selection.

Cremer's analysis after the game was spot on, even 250 in the 1st innings would've given them a chance. Their lack of Test experience showed in their inability to capitalise on an advantagous position.

Positives were that Masakadza and Mire are putting together some good opening stands. Taylor scored a fifty in the second innings after disappointing in the first. Jarvis's speed was down but bowled with control. Cremer bowled well.

However how sustainable is this 8-3 formula ? Why is Chatara fit enough to play the Logan Cup but not Test cricket when he is better than Mpofu ? Chakabva's glovework has been tidy but he hasn't been offering enough with the bat.

I'd also look to blood the left arm quick Richard Ngarava. Only 19 but has been performing well for Rising Stars in the Logan Cup.
