A juicy surface with some delightful bowling.Treat to watch.

That swing of Holders Wicket,

Windies have taken a liking to the beard. Taylor joins in on the act, another :four

Ah damn, Blackwood goes for 85. Well played.

Windies all out for 189. England lead by 68.

This is the pitch I have been yearning for entire year! This is what Test Cricket is all about.. Bring it on :akhtar

Impressive inning by Blackwood.Almost a run a ball 85.Hundred was on the cards had he got support from the other end.

6/42 for Anderson.

68 is a useful lead on this pitch, just as 257 was at least a par score and 105 was a great effort from Cook. And the so-called experts called this a flat track!

Whoever bats at 3, whatever single-figure score is registered by Trott this time and however fat Steve Harmison has got in the studio, England will hopefully now win the game.

I think more than the track it's the swing on offer, conventional and reverse. England took full advantage.

Enjoying the Eng WI test !

England 257 all out , Windies 189 all out
This is the type of scoreline which makes the match watchable , not something like 628 , 560 etc .... For sake for cricket plx stop preparing these highways or atleast make a turner if not a seaming wkt ,wkts for test in india are ideal for asian conditions . bowl spins from day 1 and test's the skills of batsman
But we can't really blame bangla for preparing these flat dead pirches , they won limited overs matches and they know a draw series will be good enough for them and they don't have quality in bowling department to make use of seaming or spinning pitch.

Wanna see trott score , was a gun batsman before he ran away. Come on trotty

Yup they should have produced green UAE mambas where scoring in two digit is an acheivement :yk

Yess....Finally some good test cricket...after watching a 5 day nightmare Bangladesh vs Pakistan (No wonder hitler killed his german team and then killed himself)...we finally get to see some actual TEST cricket being played.

Damn that was a ripper!!

On a side note, I like what you are doing.. Keep them coming :14:
Glad you like it.

Yeah...that indeed was a ripper. It seems to be a dream surface for him to bowl at.He is absolutely loving it.

Problem is these kind of pitches will not make the game last for 5 days whereas a flat pitch does.

Trott fails as expected.Feel sorry for the man. But,a wonderful delivery by Taylor nonetheless.

That Blackwood counterattack was hilarious. He's like a 2 inch Viv Richards.

His teammates really robbed him of a century. He was forced to slog to get to a 100 before the tail got out.

Looks a good player.

Haha...yea. I liked watching him bat in the first test. Looks a good find. But what he needs is support from the team. The last thing you want him to be is the next Lara

There is a catch-22 in this situation.

If the match gets interesting as it currently right now stadium will start to fill up as a results of "things" happening whereas if you see piles of runs happening day in day out and not a lot of interesting "stuff" happening then I'm sure you will not have the same kind of response from commercial standpoint even if the test match goes for whole 5 days.

Pitches like these makes the game watchable and fills up a stadium whereas dead pitches do not. They do not pull people from watching the match.

Bell gets a pair :sachin

Pitch is totally exploding now lol, practically impossible to score against the new ball

All over within 3 days either way - England need a 220 lead!!

Did you see the pitch explode even when the ball pitched in the middle lol. Fun game!

before the series started i thought the first two tests would be draws and that this was basically a coin toss. windies would have been really annoyed to lose the second test. england still favourites but when taylor fires he tends to really fire...

It's wicked good and a red hot atmosphere - but maybe the pitch is a bit TOO dirty, we're only a day and a half in! - ideal length for a Test/first-class game is 3.5-4 days with a result, in my view.

This is how test cricket should be played, thats the real test. Kudos to James Anderson for providing us with one of the finest spells of swing bowling in modern cricket. Junaid Khan take note.

This is fantastic Test cricket. This series has been surprisingly entertaining.

Yup this is the other extreme of flat pitch. The pitch should had been in this condition on 4th day this is too early.

anything less than 200 and i think windies will be confident enough to take the game.

Day 2 and 24 wickets have been taken already.

Great Test match, pretty good series to watch. Windies have the momentum now, even getting to 50 looks a struggle for England now.

This ground i remember a match where India couldn't chase 120 in the 4th innings against WI in 1997 and we had inform Sachin and Dravid.

this one's fine the batsman just aren't used to it enough

Moeen bhai should look to attack here, He doesn't have the temperament to grind it out, but has shots up his repertoire. A counter-attacking 50-60 would do England a world of good.

he did almost save that test against sri lanka by grinding it out. But he should attack here

Tbh that was the only time in his international career where he has shown some application. He is a naturally attacking player and should stick to his strengths.

Looks as if both sides are in a mess at present. England may get bowled out quickly, but WI is liable to do the same. A real test of nerves at present. Good to watch ... if you are not rooting for either side.

Will probably be a ~45 averaging player in the long run, but Root is certain to end up with a 50+ average.
Root is gonna take our spinners apart if it's anything less than a turner. He could well be the deciding factor of us losing or winning the series.

107/5 lead. All is not lost yet but this is an incredibly dodgy position.

That's it for today.

Windies on top. Some good signs for Windies' future, Blackwood and Gabriel in particular.

Excellent captaincy from Ramdin.
