cannot hide kamran in the field for 50 overs and he will not be able to play 100 overs with this fitness...

Got a good hit in his rib not sure will he be alright to start in the ODIs..

Fakhar should open ahead of Kamran imo..

 1. Fakhar
 2. Shehzad
 3. Babar
 4. Malik
 5. Sarfraz
 6. Hafeez
 7. Shadab
 8. Amir
 9. Hasan Ali

Babar Azam
Sarfaraz
Malik
Shadab
Imad
Hasan Ali
Mohammad Amir
Wahab Riaz
Mohammad Asghar

Too weak batting line-up. One of Fakhar or MoHa has to play.

You see the tactics of Inzi - all 3 matches are at Georgetown, where one should play at least 25 overs of spin. Ideally, Ashghar should play, but that comes with a weaken batting line-up as your XI - other options are to drop one of the pacers or to drop Imad for a batsman.

Tactically, Inzi has picked a squad that'll force PAK to pick MoHa, if he is fit enough - either in position of Imad or Asghar.

Batting will be poor, Shahzad/Kamran - meh

Azam/Malik are the only people holding it

Sarfraz is overrated
The bowlers cant put up anything
And LOL @ Imad at 7

be lucky to make 230 batting first.

Likely XI we get is

Shahzad
Kamran
Hafeez
Babar
Malik
Sarfraz
Imad
Riaz
Ali
Amir
?

I want to see all the players given fair chance, at least 1 game, really dispointing to see Shinwari not getting a game in the t20 series

If you thought the pitches in Trinidad were poor, wait until you see the slow, low filth Guyana usually produces.

Last year in the tri-series, teams batting in Guyana were crawling at Test match rates. The 1st innings scores were 188 (46.2 overs), 116 (32.3 overs) and 189/9 (50 overs).

Apparently they've relaid the square so hopefully there'll be more pace and bounce.

Terrible batting, but given what we have, the best lineup would be:

Shehzad
Fakhar
B Azam
Sarfaraz
Malik
K Akmal
Shadab
I Wasim
Amir
Ali
Wahab/Asghar

We are really missing a lower order batsman, and if Kamran is to play he would be best suited to that role in the team.

Not sure, but I heard Ramiz saying the curator said to expect lots of runs to be scored.

I think if he plays, Junaid will do well here. He will get it to reverse no doubt.

The batting order should be flexible. If it's 220/4 or 230/3 after 40 overs, then it better be Imad coming in. Not Malik, Fakhar or Sarfraz (who are all duds at hitting against pace). Imad might not be the best hitter in the world, but we should be grooming him as our finisher. He has already finished a couple of chases off for us as well.

I am also looking forward to seeing Amir bowl. Got a bit of time off physically and mentally. Hope he plays well in this match and gets a few wickets, if not 5+.

I really hope we get to see some high scoring games, so bored of these low scoring games in the t20 series

Yeah mate. But it's unlikely, Both are not good batting units.

well if they make some flat pitches we can at least see some 320+ scores at least, those t20 pitches recently were awful, should mix up pitches for variety

Yeah mate. But it's unlikely, Both are not good batting units.
At least our young players will get opportunities to pad their stats. Like Babar and Shadab who are playing here for the first time.

Soooo ..... we won the T/20 battle handily .... so far so good. Things get little sassy now. With T/20s the batting side hardly, if ever, plays defense. Not anymore. Couple of quick wickets at the start and we have to go into the Tuk Tuk mode. It will require a real cool head. May not be that easy to do that after playing T/20s. So it should a real challenge. Can't wait !!!!

Already went to sleep while we were batting today so this doesn't sound too promising.

Only change in the playing 11 is likely Amir for Raees. Unless Hafeez somehow manages to displace Zaman

Pakistan batting is better suited to ODI, and the bowling just got stronger. I'm expecting a sweep

Joke of a batting lineup. Inzamam is not much of a thinker.

Chief Destroyer have you seen Asif Zakir play? Ive seen him bat in a t20 up and in few videos, Looks a reasonable stroke player. Too bad already 33.

Haven't seen him. Maybe I have but probably didn't catch my eye.

There is a video on Dailymotion on his batting compilation, Turn to 03:00, Whatta shot.

Some very good batting in there on all sides of wickets, Power and elegance.

Looks good. I'd like to see game-time batting though to assess accurately.

Ahmed Shehzad
Kamran Akmal
Babar Azam
Fakhar Zaman
Sarfraz Ahmed (C)(WK)
Shoaib Malik
Imad Wasim
Shadab Khan
Mohammed Amir
Hasan Ali
Junaid Khan

Playing XI:

Shehzad
Fakhar
Babar
Asif Zakir
Malik
Sarfaraz
Imad
Amir
Shadab
Hasan
Junaid

But knowing how this works in reality, either Fakhar or Zakir will be sitting out for Professor. C'mon Sarf do the right thing and keep Prof on the bench for all 3 matches!

Yeah Sarfaraz who is averaging near 70 in his last 8 ODIs with a SR of 90+ is overrated.

Man if he has to sit for Hafeez it would be mind boggling !!

Not too fussed about the bowling. I hope we get to see asif zakir play and that we give more batting responsibility to the younger players (Imad, fakhar should bat higher)
What I am afraid will happen is that because of the race to the World Cup, we are going to start with the usual suspects in the line up: Malik, Hafeez, shehzad, and Akmal.
On and more thing: the best way that sarfaraz will make himself redundant is if he refuses to play a fixed spot in the team.

The burning question is this:

How many runs will or wickets will we thrash the West Indies with?

Each and every game.

Need to drop Akmal. We need players at the top who will score big runs and force big partnerships.

1) Ahmed Shehzad - sigh, the one Pakistani player I can say I genuinely dislike, at least he's a good fielder
2) Kamran Akmal
3) Babar Azam
4) Asif Zakir - deserves a debut
5) Sarfraz Ahmed (C) (WK)
6) Shoaib Malik
7) Imad Wasim
8) Shadab Khan
9) Fahim Ashraf - deserves a debut as well
10) Mohammad Amir
11) Hasan Ali

I expect us to win. Providence is a slow pitch where runs are hard to get, so I think we should chase if we win the toss, so we know how many runs we need to get

Ahmed Shehzad
Kamran Akmal
Babar Azam
Mohammad Hafeez
Sarfraz Ahmed*+
Shoaib Malik
Shadab Khan
Imad Wasim

Junaid Khan
Fahim Ashraf
Mohammad Asghar

how the hell has this Zakir guy been picked? His last few scores are 41, 0, 0, 0 ???? That is atrocious.

There have been two big mistakes in this squad. Zakir of course but also Asghar. Usama Mir should have been in the squad instead and they needed to pick a better batsman.

The teams I'd go for:

1. Shehzad
2. Akmal
3. Zaman (give the guy a chance to bat Sarfraz)
4. Babar
5. Malik
6. Sarfraz wk/c
7. Imad
8. Shadab
9. Amir
10. Riaz/Ashraf
11. Junaid

M. Irfan Jr, Anwar Ali, Bhatti should all have gotten a shout out in the squad abvove Ashraf but now that he's been selected, maybe he should play instead of one time Riaz.

Edit: Malik really needs to bowl to stay in the team.

Arey bhai..these guys bat like Bradman's domestic cricket. I wouldn't look too much into it.

You need to see the guy bat.

It's about how they score runs and not where they score runs, This guy looks like a genuine shot maker and stroke player with gifted timing. Would've been hyped up to heaven if he was 10years younger.

1 Shehzad.
2 Akmal.
3 Babar.
4 Malik.
5 Sarfaraz.
6 Shadab.
7 Fahim.
8 Imad.
9 Amir.
10 Hasan.
11 Asghar.

Imad is a bits n pieces player, so far only his bowling is keeping him in the 11 and squad.... u trust him too much, he might get few wickets here due to the inexperience of the WI team... Watch out for him in CT on how well he gets carted all over the park if played... he never spins it, just drifting in and bowling darters with variations, if they study him and play him as a medium pacer, he is done for that match, big teams will not take much time to decode his variations...I wouldnt be surprised if he gets carted all over the park even in this series...Better if they start playing asghar from this series as shadab will take imad's place as a bowling allrounder... his bits n pieces avg of 30s in batting cant keep him in the squad if he delivers nothing with the ball..him and hafeez in the same situation now..

1Shehzad
2Akmal
3Babar
4Fakhar
5Sarfraz
6Malik
7Shadab
8Imad/Fahim
9Amir
10Wahab/Junaid
11Hasan

Hopefully they will make good pitches for batting,so West Indies could at least have a chance of winning.

Haven't seen anything from Fakharduring the t20's to warrant him an opening slot, look out for young Shadab if he gets a chance to bat, more than handy down the lower order.

Ahmed Shehzad
Mo Hafeez
Babar Azam
Fakhar Zaman
Shoaib Malik
Sarfraz Ahmed (wk) (c)
Imad Wasim
Shadab Khan
Hasan Ali
Junaid Khan
Mohammad Amir

Ashgar should be played at any cost. Shadab , ashgar and Imad will be more than enough against WI.

thanks :) quite a range of shots.
though i am someone who dont look much into short videos.
Would like to see him in actual match situation.

Anything less than 3-0 would be bad, considering even Azhar ali managed that

You cannot dismiss a batsman on the basis of his last few innings, Zakir's overall List A record has been impressive.

However its true his record in recent List A tournaments have been below par. His FC averages though are excellent, averaging 85 in the last QAE Trophy. It does beg the question whether he'd be more suited for the Test team on the basis of that form.

he is another accumaltor

Like with all new players i hope he succeeds, but this was a thoughtless selection

I Think he has the shots. Hence not simply an accumulator.

yes but when do those shots come out ?

If he needs 30 balls to get in then thats an issue. Further being new and older in age the pressure on him will be greater. Lastly I doubt he will get chance in the top order where he normally bats

Should be good at #4 or #5, Once Kami Bhai flops. He can move up

Even Imran Farhat would look like the second coming of Lara if you go by a highlights package.

we have 3 odis, kami bhai will get all 3, as will shezzy now.

Plus its no use having Asif at 4, because that means sarfraz will have to drop down where he is wasted.

Does not look very impressive, did not see single cover drive, weak on pull and cut, what else is left? - Bounce on wicket looks terrible, no wonder we cannot find anybody in domestic who can pull and cut.

What is wrong with the ground, that looks absolutely horrible, are they playing in Mars, not an ounce of grass? - Looks like the world after global warming in 23rd century, Pakistan is going there fast, we want cricket to come back, where people are going to play? - Conditions made me feel so mad, its worse then school grounds in rest of the world.

It's irrelevant what someone did 2 seasons ago, when picking new players, you have to pick someone for what they are doing right now. Plus, isn't he quite old? What exactly is the point of the selection?

will be interesting to see how Fahim Ashraf does. I don't have much hope but so called allrounders always make me curious

the pitches of Guyana will not be batting friendly

correct, Guyana is very slow pitch which turns a lot. If you look at the tri series last year with WI, Australia and South Africa, even fairly lowish totals were defended/almost defended. But I just don't rate this WI team at all, if it was full strength ie Gayles, Pollards, Narines, Bravos, Sammys etc I would be worried but against this squad I back us to demolish them 3-0

if I recall correctly, this is the same ground where Lala took the second best ever ODI bowling figures 7/12:afridi

Yep, and same ground where West Indies were all out for 98 after 41 overs so you can see the sort of pitches they produce.

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has announced that Rajindra Dhanraj has now joined the West Indies Men’s team coaching staff as Spin Bowling Consultant.

A practice session before the start of the 1st ODI Match between West Indies and Pakistan at Guyana National Stadium, Guyana on Tuesday April 04, 2017. Photo by WICB Media/Randy Brooks of Brooks Latouche Photography
The former West Indies leg-break and googly bowler will work with the team in the build-up to the Brighto Paints presents the Q Mobile Cup ODI series against Pakistan in Guyana. He will return ahead of the start of the Brighto Paints presents the Q Mobile Cup Test Series in Jamaica later this month.

Jimmy Adams, the WICB Director of Cricket said: “We welcome Rajindra to the West Indies team group. We’re delighted he has agreed to come and work with our players. He has a wealth of knowledge on the game and we know he will make a great contribution.”

Adams added: “He will be spending time with our slow bowlers prior to both the One-Day Series in Guyana and start of the Test series in Jamaica as we look to improve and enhance their skills.”

Dhanraj, 48, was one of the leading bowlers in regional cricket in the late 1980s and 1990s. He took 295 wickets in 78 first-class matches and also played four Tests and six ODIs for the West Indies between 1994 and 1996.
