West Indies vs India | 2nd Test | Kingston | 30th Jul - 3rd Aug | Day 4

India needs at least 50 overs to have a chance to bowl out West Indies.

A big test for Ishant and Shami. They need to skittle out the top order very fast for India to have a chance. Forecast is not good for today and tomorrow.

Ain't no one watchin this?:narine

If the series itself wasn't a one sided borefest already, now the weather gods have appeared to make sure that the match is even more interesting.:afaq

Can't wait for tomorrow's match to start at Edgbaston.:afridi

Damn you West Indies for not giving two hoots about test cricket

South Africa got massacred in India last year and ended up with a bunch of injuries on top of the mess but atleast you could see they genuinely were trying. So it was enjoyable atleast

The bowlers were definitely trying over the last 2 days.

Windies have already lost 2 wickets I see, was there a long rain delay or sth coz only 13 overs have been bowled.

1st innings he bowled so many good balls for no wickets! Here he bowled a long hop and gets a wicket first over.. Cricket is a funny game!

It's like having Sohail Tanvir play in a Test against Sachin or Ponting, totally one-sided even though he would trouble them in T20s.

Poor batting...WI seem to just throw away their wickets. Only their lower order has some resistance.

Dare I say, Shami has bowled as good as any other bowler in the world. This is a classy fast bowler guys.. watch out!

We need to destroy them 4-0 no slacking need to imbibe the ruthless killer instinct in our boys..

Ruthless by the Indian team......You can only beat what is in front of you....and for WI,if you want to hang with the big boys you better show up or you will be absolutely crushed.....No mercy....loving this ruthlessness.

Shami's spell today is what Wahab Riaz should be doing.......Beautifully setting up the batsmen and then unleashing a killer short ball

The West Indies are a team with a few good players, few trying players and some no hopers.

Gabriel, Holder are pretty good players and Cummins himself isn't bad too. Joseph would strengthen their attack definitely. Bravo is a good player who is shot atm and is desperately trying to score runs. Samuels is a similar player as well but he is about to retire. Kraigg Braithwaite is a gritty player too. Bishoo seems a better batsman than a bowler. Rest are absolute no hopers.

Shami bowling pretty well. If he stays injury free, we could finally have that lead bowler we've been missing.

I feel sorry for what Viv and Bish are going through.. pathetic West Indies team

You're ignoring the field set by Virat.

I think Kohli is generally over aggressive. Misbah is just about right. The latter has the right amount of balance. However, probably bowlers like Wahab need very aggressive captains like Kohli...

It's so good to hear Sunny, Bishop and Viv talk about cricket and do a match analysis.

I am sure 70's and 80's Indian teams fans also used to feel the pain when our Lalloos use to get routinely mauled by West Indies.

Tables have turned. Time to lay it on. Viv and Bishop might not be enjoying this. But looking at their Test team, they fully deserve what they are getting for fielding these inept players.

India should have declared earlier yesterday -everyone knew rain was around the corner. Instead they went chasing personal milestones. They will probably still win because the West Indian batsmen are so brainless however had they applied themselves a bit a draw would look much more likely now than it is.

A lead of 200 was more than enough on this wicket but India batted too long. We might still sneak through if we get around 50 overs to bowl at WI. But it will look stupid if the game gets rained out.

Not really don't think fans felt the same as Bish and Viv feels.. WI was the best side of that time and it's not like India was ever the most dominant force in cricket before 70's... Viv played at a time when India were kind of like Minnows and for him to see the mauling current WI team is receiving certainly would pain him..

But good to see tables turned..

India is still a very average team away from home. In fact all asian teams are. Never have we seen an asian team dominate the test arena like wi aus sa or even eng.

Its a shame and pretty shocking if you look at the away test wins great asian players have.

India's batting is anything but average home and away, and its bowling is getting better.

Well I was comparing Viv/Bish to Indian fans.. For them to get massacred by a team who used to be a minnow and they used to bash would hurt more than it would have hurt indian fans in 70s and 80s who never had much expectation from the team vs west indies..

I agree, India should have been dominating the sport by now.. But I have high hopes that the next generation of kids who turn into pros would dominate the sport..

They declared with 38 mins, 1 session and 2 days left. That is a lot of time, nobody can know for sure how what the weather will be like. Having a larger lead also helps when playing a team like WI with their mentally fragile batsmen.

Declaration is not a problem, it has been raining since day 3 evening. We need some 40 overs to be possible today even if it's rained out I guess this will be a good learning curve for Kohli on declarations part going forward as he will be more confident with his bowling attack.

I am pleasantly surprised @ seeing WI 48/4, Indian bowlers have been super effective so far this series, much higher than their average performance :)

Forecast for today is good, sun and clouds till 3 PM with 40-50% chance of showers in between.

These rains are becoming so frustrating.

We might lose out on a win again like what happened in Bangalore last year.
