Looking forward to what should be a pretty good odi series following the hard fought and competitive test series. Both teams will be coming hard to win a share of the spoils from the tour. I'm hoping Kieron Pollard gets a few games to showcase his talents!

Gayle wins the toss and elects to bowl on a wicket that has a little bit of grass.

Good fightback by the Lankans giving them a fighting total.

Still fancy the Windies to win though. Come on Gayle, lets have a special knock today from you.

Gayle needs to dominate Vass here if west indies want to get off to a flyer.

Kapugedera has shown glimpses off what a quality all-rounder he could be for Sri lanka in future. Sri Lanka do have a fighting total here...

Vass bowling some good outswingers here to the lefties!

West indies off to a flyer :)

3/0 after 3 overs

1st boundary off inns for gayle and then smith hits one next over

13/0 into the 5th over...

W.I 39/0 - Looks like Gayle is looking to just see Vass off here..

Good shout for LBW by Vass of Gayle and not given.

Cracking shot for Six by Gayle of amerasinghe

Then 4 more to follow.. tempo going up finally.

Devon Smith out LBW off Amarsinghe. Ball pitched outside leg

Smith gone maybe unluckily LBW - looked plumb in normal speed thou

53/1

Sarwan the man in form off mark with 4.

57/1 after 14 overs

Calypso collapso.

3 big wickets gone in the blink of an eye. All set up nicely now 110 for 4

W.I 109/3

Gayle gone for 52 and sarwn for 35 in space off 2 overs and two new fresh bastmen in middle... game on!

Samuels gone as well... hes had a shocker in this series v W.I (TESTS) and now 1st odi...

Bravo has just hit a six over cover and it landed on a photographers head.

Her head is bleeding but she's still sat there taking pictures and smiling.

Bravo MOM. $2000 (Pak-Ban MOM got $500)
next game on Saturday
All MOM prizes in international cricket are pathetic. Stanford 2020 had the MOM prize of $25,000.

International players play for pride and honor and not worry about contracts, match fee, MOM etc. They have domestic cricket to make some living and if they are lucky they play for the country

Chaunderpaul done Miandad Magic? :O ....Woow I must say :26:
Feel sad for Vaas :10: . It kill atleast someone to get entertainment to watch :20: ... just like Youvraj killing Broad in T20 to entertain :10:

Well Vass bowled a bad last over. I think 3 full tosses. First two only got a single as it was a #11 batsman

what was this mendis guy like?
Mendis was very tricky. Sometimes it looked like he was bowling wrist spin, somethimes he had two fingers on the ball. I don't know if he is a offspinner or leg spinner as he was doing both. But I couldn't really see much of him (saw about 2 overs). He was troubling the batsmen

Wow what a gamee! Finally some excitement in West Indian cricket....can't wait for the highlights! Poor Vass had to bowl a full-toss, but I guess he was going for a yorker and it turned into a lucky full-toss.

i actually think the WI have been playing better over the last year than ever in the last 15 years. mainly because gayle had brought the guys together and his cool attitude seems perfect for this flamboyant side. i'm not saying they're getting back to the glory days, i'm just saying their taking steps in the right direction and i'm glad for it. it's always nice to have a strong competitive wi side

three full tosses? i bet it's matchfixed ...damn you Vaas :po:

and yeah, congrats to chanderpaul on equalling miandad's last ball six.

Miandad needed 4 off the last ball if I'm not mistaken. Chanderpaul needed 10 off the last 2, and a 6 off the last.
