The big day is here – Pakistan vs India in the Asia Cup 2025 Final. The hype, the pressure, the noise… everything is at its peak!


For Pakistan, there are questions about the batting consistency, with Shaheen surprisingly leading the strike-rate charts. Saim Ayub hasn’t exploded with the bat yet, but players like Salman Ali Agha are backing him to deliver in the final. On the bowling side, Shaheen and Abrar will once again be crucial.


For India, their top order looks solid, and their middle order has been finishing games strongly. Their spinners could also play a huge role under lights.

Can’t wait for this final. No doubt India has the upper hand, they’re a stronger and more balanced side compared to us. But this is T20 cricket, and upsets happen all the time in big tournaments. I really think Pakistan can pull it off, especially with the hunger to take revenge this time.

If Shaheen strikes early in the powerplay and we grab a couple of quick wickets, the whole game can open up. Our batting has been poor all tournament, and honestly every single batter is out of form right now. But in T20s, even out of form players can suddenly click. Usually every few games someone steps up, so if even two of our out of form batters deliver tomorrow, we’ll have a real chance. My wild guess is Fakhar, Agha, and Saim could finally bring their best in this one.

Also, we must pick Hasan Nawaz. No other batter in this squad has the ability to really go after the ball the way he does. No matter what kind of form he’s in, he’s still a better striker in this format than all these other clowns who are badly out of form themselves.

Bowling has carried us so far, and it will have to do the job again, whether we bat first or chase. Hopefully the bowlers are doing their homework against India’s batting lineup. India has looked a bit arrogant since that first game, and in cricket that often backfires, it can mess with focus.

Let’s see what happens. I’m hopeful, and honestly can’t wait for tomorrow
 
Win, lose or draw, Pakistan have already triumphed for me.

My prediction is that Pakistan will iA push the best T20I team of all time like they’ve not been pushed in a while; whether or not that will be good enough, we shall see.

Proud of this new crop for showing so much fight under immense uncalled for pressure, I can see how desperate they are to do well tomorrow and god willing they will prevail.
 
I still think India has almost 99% chance to win here... Even tough we want Pakistan to win but reality is hard to accept
 
India are definitely favorites. But, Pakistan are in a "cornered tiger" mode. So, you never know.

Hopefully we will see a good final and not one-sided stuff.
 
For India Bumrah , gill,pandya will perform... Abhishek Sharma if gives a quick 30 will be a bonus..
 
For Pakistan the weakness is the lack of skills and talent. Their strength could be triggering a do or die response, giving them the true cornered kitten spirit, can lead to a victory to remember.

For Bharat, it's very different. The dump truck vs Lamborghini analogy makes total sense here. Bharat has all to lose and that can create a lot of mental pressure and nervousness.

I predict a hard fought Bharat win if Pakistan show up.
 
Will need a perfect bowling day to win. Shaheen + Rauf + Abrar to be on their best day. Hence, I'd give Pakistan a 10% chance at best.

Can't see any batting scenario that'll work.
 
I hope the fans keep their emotions in check. The media and ex players are promoting the 2017 CT final and kudrat ka nizam. Indians will be very confident and rightfully so.
 
Win or lose, I want the Pakistani players to have a full go at the Indian players on the field. For far too long we have tolerated disrespect from their players, ex players, sports anchors and media. No more.

I haven’t watched a single game since test series finished

Only watch test cricket and that too only if India plays otherwise it’s just a select few big name series. Apart from tests just the t20 WC and odi WC.

I just watch maybe highlights of Asia cup if India played but yea might tune in today for a little bit.

Considering that you live in Australia and it will be past midnight once the game starts, I recommend you to prioritise sleep over the game for your better well being.
 
My honest feeling is ...yaawnnn...There is literally no competition expected as Pakistan are going to surrender the game within the first powerplay.

India should stop playing with these minnows of Asia. It serves no purpose other than to boost the winning record.

Last game Indian bowler were given phainty in the first power play, and it took India 18. 1 overs to chase the total down, so the recent encounter was not so one sided, and if Pakistan improves 29 per cent on that performance they can defeat India.

For the first time in eternity Pak scored more than 50 in powerplay and you guys are jumpin around lmao.

Doesnt matter what start Pak gets, how many times they celebrate ..in the end the result will remain the same.

an Indian Win.

This is not arrogance. This is just how great Indian t20 team is.

- I don't trust Pak batting because they are not reading the hand of the bowlers and most of the batters are terribly out of form. However, most of the batters have played at least one important innings, which matters. India had heavily relied only on one batter in this tournament


- I don't believe in Pak bowling attack - only Abrar and Mohammad Nawaz know how to use the surface, which is important in these conditions. Nevertheless, Pak will not repeat the mistake of giving overs to Saim during the powerplay. Indian openers will have far less friendly deliveries in the powerplay as compared to the past two clashes,

- India definitely holds an upper hand but Pakistan have never won a single multinational tournament going in as favorites


Most importantly, I believe in the law of averages in cricket. Pakistani confidence is on the rise, while Indian confidence might be excessive. SKY by making lack of rivalry remark has put his team under an unwarranted pressure. The remark might work as a fuel for Pak players. There is no debate about Pak cricketers' skills being lower than the Indians. However, Pak was also losing against India because of timid mindset of the players. The non-cricket happenings during the tournament have converted the timidness of Pak players to anger. There is no doubt in my mind that confidence level of Pak players walking into the field against India will be the highest among all the Pak-India clashes of this tournament.

Finally, the BCCI always abuses its power, The Indian team management will try to influence the pitch (Excessive use of heavy rollers) of the final to take the toss out of the equation. It was not a coincident that the dead rubber game of India-Sri Lanka had the flattest pitch of the tournament. I think that playing with the pitch will backfire for India.
 
My attitude summarised: I‘ll care just a little if India wins, I’ll care a lot if India loses.

Another way of looking at it: I haven’t bothered to pay the Rs 1500 odd to renew my annual Sony (where they’re showing the game) subscription. Don’t care enough.

But I will be following the game on Cricinfo and here.
 
The thing about being underdogs is that there should be no genuine concern about losing. It's likely to happen. But you want the team to go out swinging and see what you can do.

Let's be honest. All the pressure is on India. Their team is the one getting flack for playing, they are the one with the financial might, their media is the one urging boycotts of their own behaviour.
 
I have a good feeling Pakistani have got this in’sha’Allah. I’ve had that feeling from the beginning of the tournament

The best thing will be India hammering Pakistan in the field and slapping Haris Rauf across the ground so much so that he starts crying like he did when Kohli played that knock.
 
India’s batting powerplay will be the key. Apart from that the teams aren’t as mismatched as everyone thinks.

Hasan Nawaz should replace Talat. For us Fakhar and Shaheen, our two big match players, will be key.

Array najoomi how do you know. But it remains paks only chance that’s for sure. Of course batting first and winning will be fantastic but I don’t see this line up getting more than 170. Nevertheless let’s see.
 
One thing is for sure both teams know each other quite well now. It’s actually become a t20 series in the desert, by default. Hope an Odi series follows.

Please some Indian posters tell us how much attention this is grabbing in India. (Good or bad it’s turning out to be quite a sporting and commercial spectacle) money makers of India take note.

No it’s a Win Win for Pak already. Even if they lose against the top t20 side they can say they are the 2nd best team and ended up with a series against India when the BJP didn’t want to play them.

If they win they will be back with the cornered tigers tag. The team will be heroes.

I think Pakistan will bowl first because of the stats suggesting chasing is better in Dubai, and Pakistan have failed twice putting up a good score

India will want to bat first because they would rather avoid the pressure of a run chase in a final.

That’s my hunch.

No one remembers runners up, you lose and end up with an egg on your face. Pakistani standards are so low that beating SL, Afg, Bang and Oman are considered achievements :yk

That’s exactly what I said. Dubai favours the chasing team. There is no way India will bat first and good teams like India don’t feel pressure. Weak teams like Pakistan feel pressure because well, we just don’t win that often.

I see one team stacked with proven match-winners from top to bottom but which has put pressure on itself by unnecessarily bringing politics into cricket and by indulging in disrespectful behaviour towards its very talented opponent.

On the other side stands a team with slightly less overall quality, but brimming with passion and has an axe to grind with the ICT and the BCCI for their recent high-handed, disrespectful conduct.

The final is truly open. It will go to the side that performs better on the day.

My humble message to both the cricketers and fans is to treat this as sport and not compromise integrity by indulging in cheap or ungentlemanly behavior. Such occasions reveal true character. I hope most pass that test and emerge with dignity, regardless of the result.

Please do remember that in the larger scheme, the Asia Cup trophy carries limited weight as most of the world’s top teams are not competing hence purely from a cricketing POV there’s not a serious reason to madly celebrate this trophy whoever ends up winning.

Also, a victory here does not alter the real condition of our region. Our economies, incomes, and social security remain unchanged. Tomorrow, India and Pakistan will wake up exactly where they stood yesterday.

What could truly matter is if occasions like this push both nations to think beyond rivalry to create frameworks that de-escalate tensions, improve bilateral ties, and chart a vision toward resolving long-standing disputes. That should be the ultimate aim.

😂😂 this is very funny. Let’s see what happens. One thing for sure. From not wanting to play Pakistan to playing 3 matches must really sting the bjp supporters. Already you will have millions of eyes on this cardio workout which shows the appeal even if one sided.

Erm erm erm. It matters a lot. It shows that cricket between the two remains top draw and if they are not led by numpties in the politics of the region they can actually work to the betterment of each other. India needs Pak more than they realise and Pak is always better with closer ties to India it’s just a fact. It’s actually showing how awful both countries politics is.
 
Anyway I see so much breezy confidence (me for sure) and borderline arrogance (a very few unnamed) from Indian fans that a loss will be absolutely mayhem 😂
 
We have been pretty used of losing to India but surely this loss will hurt more than the previous 2. If we lose today, then I think the current crop will hardly back themselves of winning anything in future as it will be massive humiliation of losing to your archrivals on 3 consecutive weeks with all the ongoing drama. I just hope for the sake of legacy of Pakistan somehow, we sneak a win else we will be in shambles.
