What new teams for PSL 2017 would you suggest?

We've heard the PCB talk about expanding to 8 teams possibly for next season.

Any thoughts on where those teams would be "based" from?

Faisalabad
Multan
Sialkot
Rawalpindi
Hyderabad
 
Just 2 more teams. One from Kashmir i.e Muzzafarabad and one from FATA to ensure that every region of Pakistan has representation in the PSL. Adding any more teams will dilute the competition

There should be a qualifying round between Rawalpindi, Azad Kashmir, FATA, Bahawalpur, Multan, Faisalabad, Hyderabad & Dera Murad Jamali.

Top 2 or Top 3 teams should be added to PSL in 2017.

I wish next year few PSL matches take place in pakistan.

I pray that law and order situation improves further in Pakistan.
 
FATA , kashmir and hyderabad and sialkot if possible

and these are just names - point is to include more players
 
Karachi- Sindh
Lahore- Punjab
Quetta- Balochistan
Peshawar- KPK
Islamabad- Capital

Hence this just leaves AJK and FATA. Add these 2 teams and you have complete representation from Pakistan in the PSL.
 
The passion with which FATA team plays their cricket is simply unmatched. They also have lots of flair in their methodology.
 
I want to see a team from Gigit Baltiatan as well along with FATA and Kashmir

No teams for next three years. Wait for three years before adding any more teams.
 
It should be mandatory for the teams to at least pick 2 players from the same province , I wonder if karachi has any player from sindh or karachi.

Agreed, not enough local players in each team. Makes the inter-city rivalry unauthentic.

too many teams is not good. Ideally PSL need 1 more team Multan to make it total 6 teams. But if they want 8 teams then my advise would be Multan, Faisalabad and Azad Kashmir. Rawalpindi is too close to Islamabad and Hyderabad is too close to Karachi.
 
I think Sindh should have two teams and punjab should have 3. Fata and azad kashmir should make one team,.

4 teams could be added.

I get your point..but if that's how things should have been there's no need to have PSL...the faysal bank t20 did just exactly that (have players represent their local cities) , this franchise model will fail if you force them source players from their local cities.

These two teams are marketable, not some kashmiri team or multan or faisalabad

Kashmiri team will receive support from across the border too ( j&k) just for the name. Also it might engage Pakistanis emotionally as well.

Well there is a government there in kashmir and its pretty peaceful. Why should it be any problem for anyone to have a kashmir team,
 
PakPassion should buy a team, I will offer my services for mentorship (for free).
 
If all members contribute little money, i dont see why pakpassion cant buy it own psl team... selection committee should be based on mamoon, wl365, strike rate, and couple of other members...

Yes and when the players agree to play for 10 rupees each then serve them channay in drinks break.
 
Kashmir Pakistanis would certainly be a wonderful team name

If they decide to induct Sialkot it would be hard to beat the wonderful Sialkot Stallions name..

PCB should add teams from provinces other than punjab otherwise PSL would turn into punjab vs league .

Punjab has 60% population of Pakistan and 20% representation in terms of teams currently. If three more teams are added, expect two to be from Punjab.

I will stop supporting KK and start supporting Kashmir Pakistanis just because of that name
 
Franchises from Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Muzzaffarabad, Rawalpindi, another team from Lahore or Karachi, Hyderabad and Gilgit.
 
Faisalabad Phoenixes or Faisalabad Fire (LOL)

Multan Mavericks or Multan Maestros

Rawalpindi Renegades or if too similar to BBL, then Rawalpindi Shahanshahs

Hyderabad Hydras or Hyderabad Hustlers

Sialkot Superchargers or Sialkot Sipai

Kashmir Cavaliers


Quetta Jokers - j/k, they've done very well this season :afridi

I'd personally add 2-3 more teams, probably Multan/Pindi, Kashmir, and then anyone of Faisalabad, Hyderabad or Sialkpt

One positive aspect of the PSL is that there is representation for each province. In the IPL, it is noteworthy, as pointed out by Ramachandra Guha that Uttar Pradesh, with a population similar to that of Pakistan is not represented in the IPL. Nor are Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, also states with significant populations. Commerce has trumped representation.

So whatever new teams are added in the PSL, inclusivity should continue to be an important consideration.
 
Too many teams would spoil the fun; would make the league boringly long like the IPL which goes on and on. We can maybe have one more team. 6 teams is about the right number. This PSL has been neither too short not too long. Hence been so entertaining and enjoyable to watch. It is about quality not quantity of games.
 
Jammu and Kashmir invincibles and Gujranwala destroyers.
But I think it's either Rawalpindi or sialkot who are going to enter in next year's psl

If there are 8 teams then only play each other once.
 
Don't think the PSL needs many more teams, maybe just add one more. Anything more will make the league less competitive and longer.

Same format, meaning two teams get knocked out in the first stage.
