What was Mohammad Haris thinking here?

Rage inducing effort by Haris here. Absolutely sporting crime.
 
Maybe he thought the batsman was out of the crease and took it for granted with his lazy reflexes.
 
If he had broken the stumps, he would have put Pakistan in a great position, does not mean Pak would win 100 percent India bat deep, however this have made the game more interesting, and would have put pressure on India.
 
If this was Rizwan, the resident clowns would have spammed this thread 24/7.

This reminds me of Akmal in the 2010 Sydney Test. I have not seen a bigger brain-fade by a WK since then.

I question his intentions here — I believe he needs to be investigated by the PCB anti-corruption unit.

He comes across as a garbage human being anyway. His behavior is similar to other convicted fixers that Pakistan have had.

It is funny how posters like @Rana, @YousafTheBeast @RidiculousMan @TheSultan @Dr_Bassim don’t have the courage to show up in this thread.

This wasn’t the only error though. Saw him struggle to collect the ball cleanly throughout the tournament.

He’s a very low IQ individual who doesn’t really focus on his job. Comes across as a very unintelligent cricketer.

India would have won. But this is the second time in 2 matches he is fumbling a run out. IN the last match he removed the bails with gloves before collecting. Lack of game sense in both occasions deserve scrutiny. Outcome is immaterial here.

There is no way Rinku Sing or Axar would have gotten India home.

Tilak played a blinder - a near flawless innings which was timed to perfection. You cannot expect the same from Rinku, and definitely not from Axar.

Playing against Afghanistan, in a bilateral AT HOME, is a completely different ball game vs playing against Pakistan in a tournament final.

Even Tilak Verma said that the pressure of Pak game was different.

Now I am not hyping up the rivalry or Pak's credentials with this, so I hope you don't take it that route. But, the history along with the all that had been going on into the lead up to this game, the pressure was obvious and it was massive.
 
Yeah this was the moment that bothered me the most in the match. I can take people bowling bad, dropping catches, batting badly. That's just a matter of either poor skill or bad luck. Which you can't really control on the day. As bad as those things are, they are usually still trying their best.

This looked like he just wasn't concentrating. Taking it easy. Which is frustrating. It did remind me a bit of kamran akmal at sydney.

I know he isn't performing with the bat but his main job is keeper. You have to focus on that. There too many dreams about being opener, playing at 3, making that big innings at a great SR. I don't feel he focuses enough on his actual main job of keeping. That's why I'd say stick him down at 6 tell him he's not moving, and tell him to focus on keeping. When he sorts that out first, then we can look to give him further responsibility with the bat if it's a good idea to.

Very reason India stacked their line up with batting was for precisely for this. To handle unexpected collapses. We know Axar is clutch. Delivers in finals. So you cannot conclusively say match would go this way or that way. India was not exactly chasing a big total. Even Bangladesh from even worse situation they almost pulled it off against Pakistan. Bangladesh was 73 for 6 chasing 135. They lost by 11 runs.

Of course I am not conclusively saying that - but it would've been HIGHLY LIKELY.

Naah, Axar can't play the knock that Tilak played. Not in that situation. Pakistan was still favored to win when that run out was missed. With another wicket, the odds would've heavily been in Pak's favor.

You can't expect Rinku or Axar to get you out of those situations.

Never say never with current Indian team. there is a reason why they have won so many matches on the trot against various opposition. You are assuming an ideal scenario where pakistan would nail perfect deliveries and Indian would struggle to come to terms.

Absolutely needs to be investigated. Something malicious going on.

How it impacted the result of the game matters less, he absolutely came across as a disingenuous human being. I am suspecting criminal activity.
 
Not sure why Indians are completely rejecting the idea that this could have been the moment that could have tilted the result.

I agree that even if he was dismissed, India would have been favorites but there is no guarantee that the likes of Rinku and Axar would have scored runs and not failed like everyone else except Tilak and Dube.

It was an extremely close match and Tilak was the difference between the two teams, so there is no logic in downplaying the significant of this inexcusable gaff by Haris.

Exactly, regardless of all the hate rizwan gets and to an extent rightly so, he is a much better keeper and would have not made a mess of that. He also did a great stumping of dinesh karthik in the 2022 T20 match and a run out as well of Axar Patel but he almost messed that up haha but he still manage to get it done, as a keeper he is way better than Mohammad Haris

Haris is the natural successor to Kamran Akmal. Same dodgy attitude and lack of wicket-keeping ability.

His fan club should hope that this is corruption. That is a better explanation and more excusable.

For me, I go by results and it’s true he hasn’t been great, same with Saim. My gut is it might be worth persisting with them for a bit longer.

However, I have no problem or complaint if we replace both. Just don’t go backwards. Haris has failed yes, Rizwan failed before that. Keep looking

Both big mouths Mohammad Haris & Haris Rauf got badly humbled

May be a lesson here. Sledging is not for everyone. Its a double edged sword. Can backfire & mess up ur own head. May be focus on the game. Dont try to pretend you are Australian
 
Such a bad wicket keeping...tilak and dube messed very bad and there is soo much time for harris to knocked the bells out...india would have been trouble....this is turning point

I don't think haris did it on purpose.

He dropped the ball 100% and proved to be an incompetent keeper.

But I dont think he's some sort of match fixer.
 
What about this in the 2nd game where he was daydreaming until the last moment and ended up trying something cute that made him look like a fool instead. India were 33 at that point.haris.png

I don't know for sure whether Pakistan would've won that game if Tilak had been taken out because India still had some decent batting left, but it might have been 70:30 Pakistan.
